The inclusion of classic PSX and PS2 games is such a good thing I can’t believe Sony added them this late. Having the possibility playing these games nowadays on a modern console really brings back older days. With more games added I found myself thinking about classic games I would buy in a heartbeat that aren’t available, yet.
So what are some classics you are looking forward to be released in the future? – Even if it’s unlikely that some of them could be available anytime soon. I’ll go first!
– Driver 1+2
[Driver 1 – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OmBaAOfY2XM)
The first Driver still is so much fun to play.! The only game that comes close in terms of driving physics is Mafia 1 – Definitive Edition, imho. I‘d love a remaster or remake of the first Driver. Including a trophy list with the classic release would also be a great addition!
– Soul Reaver: Legacy of Kain
[Soul Reaver – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pXdIGNea2ZI&pp=ygUTU291bCByZWF2ZXIgdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D)
One of the greatest PS1 games, imho. Imagine a remake with a current engine. This would feel like some kind of a Bloodborne x Zelda game.
– Vagrant Story
[Vagrant Story – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wDiZNuAkqz0&pp=ygUPdmFncmFudCB0cmFpbGVy)
Such a unique experience. I can’t imagine what a remake could refine gameplay wise, so a release of the classic PSX version would be enough. A great and unexpected uncommon RPG experience.
– Future Cop: LAPD
[Future Cop: LAPD – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Enf3dSAUPJo&pp=ygUXZnV0dXJlIGNvcCBsYXBkIHRyYWlsZXI%3D)
I think one of the lesser known action games for the PSX but still worth for a classic release.
– G-Police
[G-Police – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=63NtBCIzaRQ&pp=ygUQRyBwb2xpY3cgdGVhaWxlcg%3D%3D)
Not one of the greatest classics but worth a release for the classic catalogue. It has had its moments and was totally fine gameplay wise for a futuristic 3D Shooter.
– Croc: Legend of the Gobbos
[Croc: Legend of the Gobbos – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5lRPU8nvKS4&pp=ygUQY3JvYyB0cmFpbHdyIHBzMQ%3D%3D)
I assume this is the 3D platformer most of us played only its demo. Croc, which was included on the PS1 – Demo Disc 4, has been one of the better early 3D-Platformer for the console.
– Hogs of War
[Hogs or War – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mMBXFYM36U0&pp=ygUTaG9ncyBvZiB3YXIgdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D)
A tactical 3D turn based Action Game like no other. This needs to be included in the classic catalogue as one of the better multiplayer Vs. Games of the PSX era.
– Silent Hill
[Silent Hill – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YWkHlOcbcj8&pp=ygUic2lsZW50IGhpbGwgcGxheXN0YXRpb24gMSB0cmFpbGVyIA%3D%3D)
Obviously this won’t happen anytime soon because of Konami. It just has to be mentioned that if there isn’t coming any remake the classic version should be accessible on modern consoles. All time classic and one of the best survival horror games of all time.
– Nightmare Creatures 1+2
[Nightmare Creatures 1 – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pNPxqD0Y8c4&pp=ygUdTmlnaHRtYXJlIGNyZWF0dXJlcyAxIHRyYWlsZXI%3D)
[Nightmare Creatures 2 – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jJEx-EmU9Os&pp=ygUmbmlnaHRtYXJlIGNyZWF0dXJlcyAyIGludHJvIHJvYiB6b21iaWU%3D)
If you want a Demake of Bloodborne, or it’s spiritual predecessor, don’t search any longer.
I can’t help but Bloodborne had to be inspired at least a tiny bit by Nightmare Creatures 1. These two games are the
definition of the PSX-Horror-Games-Eeriness, at least for me. Both of the titles have to be available on modern consoles! A must play if you like gory horror action. It is actually like Bloodborne, but for the PS1
The OST of the second Trailer really slaps! It’s from Rob Zombie and such a good track!
– Tomba! / Tombi
[Tomba! – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DrV93JnttOs&t=45s)
A wonderful 2.5 D Platformer with adorable story telling and great gameplay. Beloved and worth to be added.
– Gekido: Urban Fighters
[Gekido: Urban Fighters](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DVFqQi4NTig&pp=ygUSZ2VraWRvIHBzMSB0cmFpbGVy)
One of the better brawlers for the old gen. Tons of fun and a great take on the Fighting Force Formular.
– Ghost in the Shell
[Ghost in the Shell – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XqSVow9zsRQ&pp=ygUeZ2hvc3QgaW4gdGhlIHNoZWxsIHBzMSB0cmFpbGVy)
When I discovered the Demo of Ghost in the Shell back then I didn’t knew it was based on the comic book series. The fast combat and flexibility to rush up buildings with your Tachikoma (A armed Mecha-Spider on Roller Blades that talks to you) blew me away. One of my most played demos back in the day. It still holds up pretty well, imho. A game the classic catalogue surely need!
– Vib-Ribbon
[Vib-Ribbon – Trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hFx9PGsfK9I&pp=ygUWdmliIHJpYmJvbiBwczEgdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D)
A special 2D-platformerish-rhythm-game with a minimalistic art style. Unique and a bit quirky but in fact an enjoyable and unquestionably special rhythm game.
That’s it!
These are some of the games I wish would be available via PSN / Classic Catalogue. Feel free to add more games to the list I’ve forgot to mention!
