RimWorld: A New Hope [Anomaly DLC!] – Ep 15
hey folks quilly here and welcome to
another episode of let’s play Rim world
it is a new hope you may notice I’ve
been sketching out some plans over oh
actually missed an area sketching out of
plans over here for a new building this
is going to be our high-tech research
area with sterile floors and then we’re
going to have some containment zones
ready to go for some of our anomalies um
I don’t know what the ideal size is for
some of these containment zones on our
anomalous tribals this is what I’ve been
running which is um I think 3 three is a
size for the restraints I think I’m
right and this gives us enough room for
the extra little devices that might be
in there and then we can have lots of
excess doors yeah sterile research room
over here and that leaves us a nice spot
over here for perhaps our ritual room
but that’s all going to come later
currently we are working on our Temple
over here uh lips has got the research
command ready to go sure you know what
we’ll just proc that that’s fine hope
it’s got some power so people are a
little cranky right now one of the
people for example Harding has been
rebuffed a couple of times I think hope
is going to go and give a counseling to
Harding but because of our moods there’s
a couple of things I want to change also
I’ve uh gone and tweaked people’s roles
again to try to get them more and more
specialized as much as possible less
crossover uh we’ll see I might still
have to do some changes one thing I’m
going to do is I’m going to crank up the
child care because I’ve noticed that
Tetra spends a lot of time not being
that happy and I think hope is having a
hard time keeping up with things
especially right now I’m interrupting
her Petra time with that so we’re going
to put Child Care up for everyone and
the other thing cuz right now we’ve got
a lot of we had some bad rituals we had
other things go happening to us we’re
going to go and move to a basic schedule
for just a little bit here it’s just
going to keep everyone’s Baseline mood a
little bit
higher and in theory they’re going to
spend the exact same amount of time
every day doing Recreation and doing
sleeping in practice we do lose some
efficiency because people spend more
time running back to the base B bot the
attempt counil that’s great yeah there
people are going to spend more time
going back to the base to sleep or
recreate and so we lose some time
because of moving around also some of
this stuff has been sitting out here for
a
while I do also I want to pop the mechor
thing right now maybe I should go Min
and an eclipse oh my God you settle down
for a sec so we got no solar power
that’s probably going to cause an issue
Min I’m going to get you to come over
here and smash this machine um with the
deconstruct hang on with the deconstruct
I think that’s part of the mod and I
think because deconstruction doesn’t
always give you everything back I think
we do need to smash this I think the
normal behavior in the game is to smash
this cuz I have a vague memory of my
deconstruction mod sometimes not
generating
uh that if you do some damage maybe we
should shoot it yeah definitely damage
is the way it’s meant to be done um I
feel like it sometimes doesn’t drop the
mech transport if we just do the
deconstruct view of the mod

come over here going to get you to shoot
this thing Quest expires in eight hours
oh yeah this Brin Lair I think this
Quest is perfectly fine for us to do now
I don’t um it has actually been several
days since the last recording session I
did so I don’t know if I talked about
something different here but EV valuing
this Quest I think we could do it just
fine but I don’t think the rewards are
worth it I would love an extra book for
our Shelf cuz we’re at nine out of 10 um
and you know for research the artistic
XP skill doesn’t matter too much I mean
gold is nice obviously Insanity land
does some cool stuff for us but yeah
we’re not going to bother right now uh
get a little closer buddy well depending
on the explosive radius
here okay waiting for the 50% no it’s

might want to wait until people are less

have my crops Home Zone cuz I don’t want
people going and cleaning the fields it
seems like a waste of
time we might want to encourage people
to do a hauling session or rather than
tweak their hauling priority
especially with the fires here let me
haul and the devil strand as well
honestly the cloth we can live without
cuz we’ve got so much we really need
some traders to show up
here no storage space yeah I mean I
guess we need these shells built too we
don’t anyone restricted except for pug
okay which seems entirely
reasonable yeah I don’t want to lose the
devil strand cuz that’s amazing for crap

moved the uh dumping stock pile over
here so it wouldn’t be hugging the walls
and things just make things a little bit

filling its food need I mean it wasn’t
in a dire situation

cuz I’ve got this one set to be a range

I guess maybe this could be set to any
you know what I’ll keep this to normal

quickly see something shamblers are
approaching a group of 50 shambling
forces okay wander through the area if
they see a human they will attack not
they’ll leaving 50 I don’t think I’ve
seen I’ve seen like two or three I like
that they’re passive now what would suck
here is if they randomly shamble
themselves into our walled
area but as long as they stay outside
the walled area proper oh hey I didn’t
realize um I know this was a change that
was talked about for the camera plus mod
I didn’t realize there had been a change
pushed already you can see the triangles
here for the shamblers cuz they weren’t
showing up on the camera plus mod if you
zoomed up all the way the built-in
highlighting worked and if you zoomed in
close enough you get the bodies but this
Middle Ground wasn’t showing
anything okay yeah just stay away please
cuz that would be a lot of shamblers to
deal with and yeah they will Decay
eventually oh this music
intense yeah hopefully we got enough
Stone inside the base to work on things
finish this cuz we probably have the dis
disrespected
um we don’t actually have the
disrespected aric figure oh maybe it
doesn’t care about everything being
floored maybe it just needs the room to
be at least impressive or
something okay well that’s

closer just don’t randomly wander into

seriously considering replacing this

traps thing with stone traps is they do
a lot more damage you almost as much
damage as steel traps steel traps I
think are ridiculous over
kill we are generating enough wood I
think to keep sustaining this maybe I’ll
do that although at some point I’m going
to have to consider maybe extending the
Trap Corridor maybe I extend the Trap
Corridor and have the first few outside
be some Stone maybe we split the task
yeah could be an idea Stone ones on the
outside which will do more damage to
heavily armored things like Mech and
then for big crowds like when you get a
giant pool of tribals you know the stone
ones will definitely kill the tribals
but then after that there’s still going
to be enough of them but then they’ll
trigger the wooden ones which will still
be effective maybe all right we got a
caravan depending on where this Caravan
leaves after it’s done that might get a
little salty oh yeah I queued up a
prosthetic leg cuz poor old hope over
here is missing a leg so we’re going to
add uh prosthetic leg left leg left left
good now for doctoring we don’t have a
really good doctor our best doctor is
smogger out of
five it’ll have to do you’re resting

inside my walls which is
fine because they’re getting awfully

aren’t enough to do anything with you

this might not be any enough to craft
with and we can still sell it for money
we’ve got tons of psychite tea and
Ambrosia we also have a ridiculous
amount of cotton although I guess the
cotton could be upscaled into clothing
to sell for money why don’t I sell you
like 150 units of um 50 units of
psychite by that I mean 20 units of site
and by that I
mean oh that’s what hold on oh we’re
already taking more oh never
mind there we could give them things but
I don’t need them to be an ally now are

ignore these corpses for a little

don’t have to worry about the stink rot
anymore there was a gor Hulk in all that
terrifying hallucination with Hope Oh
twisting and disorienting allies into
horrifying Abominations oh the
hallucinations are around you I think
this is like the insult spree where it’s
going to make other people upset but not
as severely guess we’ll just have to
tank that
unfortunately wow that was that was
really rough and yeah I have no problem
doing the reload on hope
there um I didn’t expect this to go so
sour medical emergency so that’s that
that’s because your infection has gotten
to 80 presumably actually maybe it
happens at 75 but your immunity is ahead
when’s your next T in two hours I might
I might give you one more glitter world
just cuz the 10 quality is so low what
if it rolled so low that you don’t have
the immunity ahead of time that seems a
little hard to believe you’ve got an
edge yeah okay we’re just going to drop

herble Hope okay at least you’re not
near anyone with your hallucina ations
that’s actually quite
good so gum’s getting another treatment

obviously hope isn’t taking care of her
baby and baby’s actually fine right now

injuries which I guess isn’t the worst
thing making our kid parkas and
partially train crafting
partially to um have something to sell
right we’ve got all this cotton other
again it makes me think maybe well I I
say maybe we go to Noble apparel but
here’s the thing with Noble apparel the
just like the child parkas the corsets
and the formal vest which are identical
to one another um are great ways to
convert very little material into more
wealth because they take a lot of time
to build here we almost want the
opposite it’s like we might want to look
into what’s the thing that takes the
most material and least amount of time
um just to convert as much cotton as
possible into something that’s worth a
little bit more than the raw cotton not
much more because if the balance is that
way but it would still help all right
planting more trees Hope’s no longer
hallucinating so you’ve got you’ve been
cathed void catharsis is worth less than
the regular catharus which is funny oh

um yeah that’s going to be annoying
that’s going to shoot our wealth up a
lot I mean people who’ve been neural
supercharged do work better maybe we can

having a bit of an issue with it

we made our way through it now some
things are still rotting out here
visitors are the shamblers gone okay the
shamblers are gone so we’ll go ahead and
unrestrict everyone

don’t think um I think maybe once
they’re past 10 I think they might not
do quite as much just like nature
running stuff oh we need bone and insult
spree well that’s annoying um we need
this stuff and all these rotting
corpses moved
quickly insult spre is really annoying
because you go and make everyone else’s
mood much worse and you hope that a
social fight starts cuz it breaks the
insult spree cuz the insult sprees like
are your tantrum spirals that keep
making things like worse cuz the next
person’s M miserable cuz they’ve been
insulted and so on and so forth are
leaving they did not stick around long
that’s okay I know they had maybe a few
items to trade but not sure any of it
would have been significant

but what are you tending to yourself you

indoors after it gets to like
moderate and then we can let it burn off
and then put them back outside
again actually pug you might have been I
might have forced you on cremating which
isn’t what I
want okay this is getting pretty severe
so let’s go and put everyone indoors
men oh see this is the problem if you’re
just wandering out outside you might get
a little bit worse
but this should generate a lot of
research for us there’s not that many
things to do indoors although certainly
not a a lot of cloth working there we go
min’s going to head back in good
actually had already gone for sleep at
least you don’t pass out
outside okay I think that’s going to be
okay we are allowing people to go here
actually I think we could probably go
and go with marble pews maximum Beauty
in here usually make it out of wood but
again we’re sort of trying to preserve
some our wood we’ll do a marble lecturn
as well so they can spend that if
they’ve got some blocks which they might
have some but they’ll run out because
they can’t go and get more chunks
because we’re not letting them
outside but I mean we’ve got enough food
indoors to be
okay busy work can be the
research I I guess this will I mean this
this could last a really the annoyingly
long
time the biggest problem might be if we
literally run out of raw food at some
point and we’re not replanting it but
for now maybe we’re okay I don’t know
we’ll have to find out next time geez
what a tough episode this was holy cow
is it I mean for the New Hope run this
must have been the most difficult run
one right I think
so what can possibly happen that will be
