I recently ordered a physical copy of Skylanders Trap Team online, but my Wii U just won’t read it for some reason. It’s not scratched whatsoever, it’s from the right region, and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of disc rot on it from what I can see.
Meanwhile, my other discs for Skylanders Imaginators, Smash 4, and Splatoon work just fine, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the system’s laser lens.
I’ve looked around the internet for solutions, but none of them have worked so far. Is there something wrong with the disc that I’m just not seeing?

I have a copy of Batman Arkham City like that. I didn’t find a solution for it. 🙁
I have the same problem with my just dance disc there are no scratches on the disc but it doesn’t work
Disc data probably corrupted I’m not exactly sure how to fix it tho
Wii U discs suck. Unfortunately you’re probably not going to be able to fix it. My copy of Yoshi’s Wooly world suffered the same fate, despite not having a single scratch.
Wii U are pretty sensitive to any damage, I had a Splatoon 1 disc which would stop working right after pressing ZR + ZL on title screen, had to buy a new splatoon game disc, I bought some weeks ago a Mario 3D world and it didn’t work at all, shows invalid disc, and to think there are NO scratches in that disc! and no, it’s not my laser, I can play any other wii u/wii discs without any problem
I had a similar issue with smash bros for Wii U but my disc wouldn’t get past the load screen. Try cleaning it with a microfiber cloth. If that fails, it’s a goner.
I have a disc that looks “perfect”, but only because I ran it through a disc polishing machine to try to fix scratches that were on it. It turned the disc from “somewhat working with scratches” into “looks perfect but says invalid”. I’d send it back to the seller.
Try polishing it?
