So I came across this the other day and was wondering if this would be good or bad for my wii U? If not, then what device would I be better off buying that has a reasonable price. I know I'm probs better off getting a self powered device but ssds don't take much power last I checked

It works, that’s what I use for my Wii U, plug it in format it, then you can forget about it. It just works
yes, but if you want what nintendo recommends then you could buy a external hdd that uses a power cord to power itself while connecting with a single usb to the wii u.
No get a USB nvme.
An SSD is totally overkill for a Wii U, why don’t you get a cheaper HDD, that is esentially going to give you the same performance?
Never recommend you to do this. One it is expensive and second it’s useless to use ssd. You can get 2tb hdd for this price. And for the cable you can make one on your own. I just mod my wii u last week and make a dual port usb wire by cutting the simple usb wire and attaching it to the other usb.
