I bought this game yesterday and it won't play on my Wii U. Every time I insert the disc the console makes a buzzing noise for around 20-30 seconds trying to read it before giving an error message. It's never done this with any other game (I tested another game after to make sure it wasn't a problem with the system) so is this one disc just beyond repair? It has some visible wear but no deep scratches or anything so I'm not sure

    1. if other discs are working then its a good chance its that disc. if you have a wii or know someone that does test it. If you wii U is homebrewed you can try to dump it. It cuold also be a weak laser in the drive. Wii U drives have 2 lasers actually, 1 for the blu ray wii U discs and one for wii dvd discs..

    2. No deep scratches is good, but even fine scratches, as well as dirt and smudges, can cause issues. Your disc may simply be in need of a good cleaning.

      >Dampen a clean, soft, cotton cloth with water. Use straight strokes and wipe the disc (non-labeled side) from the inside rim to the outside rim. Using a dry part of the cloth, repeat step 2 to dry the disc.

    3. My Wii U feels like it hates Yoshi Wooly World. Bought a copy that looked perfect, wouldn’t read it. Returned it and swapped for another copy, wouldn’t read it either. It also wouldn’t read what looked like a great condition Tropical Freeze. I’ve had no issues with any other games.

Get some PlastX from Autozone and a microfiber towel it’s for polishing headlights but it is amazing at restoring dvds/cds
