Lol my mate worked on the original. I should give him a call and see if he can fix it!

A perfect dark modernized for PC/Switch would be so legit

I bet the dizziness isn’t the fault of the new release. I tried to play perfect dark on n64 around the end of the GameCubes life and I got accustomed to the new gen. Playing a shooter on the 64 made me sick.

The FOV is different in some of those older FPS games. I had friends as a kid who couldn’t play PD for the same reason. Oddly though. Goldeneye gave them no issues. Maybe it’s because PD also had a lot more going on since it had an 8 person player count and flasher weapons. The rest of the issues could just be an N64 being use don modern TVs.
Keep in mind on some atVs, an64 games look like the screen was smeared with Vaseline. They were made for CRTs an not flat screens. So their graphical style was made to be viewed with scanning. So many times, older games on brand new smart tvs dont translate well and look worse.
If you’re gonna go after ROM sites, at least emulate games properly on your own platform.

This is blowing it way out of proportion there’s honestly like nothing wrong with it. It’s no different than playing on a 64. This isn’t supposed to be an hd remaster. You guys forget how clunky this games on 64 originally?
I’m personally really impressed with the emulation. There’s a lot of visual bugs on pc emulator that are not here on the NSO. it’s quite close to the original game

If goldeneye is anything to go off, apparently Nintendo was really anal about making sure that it didn’t look better than the N64 game. The devs were specifically told not to fix any issues including ones that were more obvious running on a 4K 65 inch screen.
I’m curious if they had the same rules about perfect dark.

Nintendo released an effective advertisement for the PC port. Graslu also did a complete walkthrough, they butchered it https://youtube.com/watch?v=FTpLf91ioeE

Good old Nintendo. Removing the ability to play these games outside of their platform but not allowing me to play them in a fun way. I stand by the fact that goldeneye and Turok are the definitively worst ways to play these games.
I mean for fuck sake I pay so much a year for this service. Let me customize controls

Hope they fix it. I remember some of the other NSO games like Ocarina had issues that got patched.
Still, like GoldenEye, the best official way to play is Rare Replay on Xbox (and the “PC versions” are even better).
Too bad we can’t at least get custom controls for these N64 games. Even for the non-FPS, it’d be nice to assign C-button functions to other buttons as needed. And no, the Switch’s super inconvenient system-wide button profiles do not count.

It annoys me to no end seeing the “a delayed game is eventually good” company rush out these N64 releases again.
I’d also like to present my theory that they had no clue what they were doing for the Expansion Pass, seeing how they’re still releasing N64 games that will need patches, while M2 has seemingly completed their assignment and vanished from working on NSO entirely! They vastly underappreciated how one of these would go vs. the other, is my assumption.

It’s crazy how so many N64 NSO games run so poorly, but the other consoles like GBA and SNES run great. I wonder what happened with N64 NSO

If you want a really good experience with the game, I’d suggest the PC port! Just tried it out and it runs great! (https://github.com/fgsfdsfgs/perfect_dark)
