So I played a good bit of the Elden ring dlc and I felt like I was pulling teeth. I loved the main game and the expansion is amazing. Yet, it feels so dull at the same time. I knew the combat was gonna feel slow and I knew I was gonna need to adjust from the aesthetic difference between stellar blade and elden ring. What I didn't expect was how much the background music was gonna play a factor in my enjoyment. Stellarblade kinda ruined this for me, I'm used to upbeat music in the background and fast paced fight sequences! With Shadow of the Erdtree, it's just dreary cello, it's so dull. I know I know it's not even a fair comparison, apples and oranges. But dang I didn't expect to have my tastes spoiled so much after playing Stellar blade. It's like I'm coming off an extra caffeinated sugar high rollercoaster and going to a library. Don't get me wrong Shadow of the Erdtree is beautiful and adds tons to the base game, it's truly a spectacle, it's just not as fun as Stellarblade was.
