Except that it wasn’t Sony’s decision but Naughty Dog’s because they saw the amount of work it would take to maintain a live service title of that scale and didn’t want to pivot to being a live service studio but okay.
Oh snap, you’ve played concord already? What makes it so generic in your opinion?

Concord definitely has a bit of the “Copy Overwatch” vibe to it visually, but I think it has some interesting ideas going for it like persistent tool placement and terrain adjustments lasting between rounds in a match and I think it’s focus on week to week story telling could be interesting.
If nothing else it feels like the sort of game that’s worth popping into every now and then just to see what’s happening in the universe.
One thing I’ve always felt is sort of disappointing about Overwatch is the fact that Blizzard only really seems interested in furthering the lore when introducing new characters or events; and often characters just drop off the face other planet once they’ve become old news.
If Concord can create interesting stories and back it up with solid gameplay it could be great even if it isn’t ground breaking.
