“Auto-opened browser” isn’t as insidious as you’re implying. The uninstall routine asked the operating system to open a web link. Literally any app can do this.
Opening an uninstall survey is an extremely common practice. Even Firefox and Google Chrome did this at one point and I think Chrome still does it if you uninstall.

If you wonder how they did that: They specified this as a separate uninstall action in the installscript.vdf file. That is normally used to uninstall other components that the game previously installed, such as anti-cheat software.
