F1 Manager 25 DLC: CADILLAC Career Part 3 – SIGNING A NEW DRIVER! & Major Car Upgrades!

In today’s episode, four massive upgrades see us catapult ourselves up into the midfield fight. It’s safe to say we had a difficult time last time out. We did score our first point in the season thanks to the simulated race from Sergio Perez and then when we managed it, it was tough going, but I think there’s good reasons to maybe look forward in a positive manner. This is the R&D chart. So, the AI rivals around us made huge strides on R&D, but of course, we only just recently got our brand new facility improvement on the CFD simulator. I think that actually will make uh enough of a difference to help us along. I think also we just need to maybe do more parts. I think we maybe I think I left a little bit too much time in between forgetting to constantly, you know, check the car part development. And obviously it’s been some time since we’ve played this game. So, you know, I’m not maybe wasn’t as on it with always checking this because now look, we’ve got all this, you know, space to be doing parts. So, we need to be just as a new team especially just throwing the kitchen sink at it. And we’ve got enough funds, I think 11 million to be doing that. So, I think we can turn this around from this R&D chart and start to get up there. And clearly, there’s been some I don’t know shenanigans going on. I don’t know what kind of rocket fuel they’re feeding them over at VCarb to be second on paper. And then also obviously we’ve had Alonzo win two races and Aston not even that high. So I don’t know. I It’s been quite a confusing start to the season in many regards, but I think we can uh I think we can look forward to better things coming into this episode as we go to Barcelona, Montreal, Spielberg, and Silverstone. I’m going to simulate Spain. We’re going to manage Canada. That’s always a fun one for us. Obviously, happy hunting grounds. Uh simulate Austria and then obviously manage the British Grand Prix, which is always good laugh. Spending 2.7 million on a new rear wing. That seems very pricey, but I think I want to try and get performance in this car ASAP. Otherwise, we are going to be having a bit of a rocky time. And a new underfloor. Three big ones that will come in all in time for Canada, I believe, which is in 32 days time. So, all those will be done and we can get at least one of them on the car. So, this first race, Spain, might be a little bit painful. I’m hoping to set up a better race in Canada. And what I also want to do in this episode is scout maybe new talent. Already thinking ahead to the second season in the series. We’ve got Dunn growing. Well, I feel like we should line him up to be in one of the cars for for the second season. And obviously some rumors flying about IRL that he could be lined up to be trying to go for the Cadillac seat with McLaren needing to put him somewhere. But the other seat, you know, these two boys, they start off the project, but I think we should look for someone exciting to get in alongside done for the second season. Apparently the Stappen’s open to negotiation. I mean it. Oh, wow. No, I’ve just seen the buyout. Have you seen that buyout? 182 million to buy out Maxappen from his Red Bull contract. That is crazy work. Fernando is actually open to negotiation. That also is very very costly. Uh George is open to negotiation. He’s got eight months left on the contract as well. Obviously IRL, it’s a topic of discussion for Russell’s contract. So maybe we go for Russell. that could be quite a good option, you know, cuz that’s quite a highrated one that’s open for negotiation. Hulenberg’s alter there, but he’s kind of the same vibe as Perez and Botas. Obviously, I know IRL, you know, having a fantastic season obviously for a lot of us been saying for a while underrated Hulenberg. He’s just been putting in a shift after shift in his career. But the game maybe on the old side could go for Peter Gassley. 84 rated. Maybe room to grow. I’m kind of leaning towards Russell, though. I think that’s quite excite quite a good exciting option for us. I think if Mercen going to give him a contract, may as well go swoop in. You know, it’s it’s not often you get a, you know, high 80 rated driver that doesn’t have a contract locked in that you’d have to buy out. So, that’s probably one of the best bang forbuck deals we could do. And as a new team uh within this career save, bang forbuck is what we need to go for. Oh, come on. Really? Factory shutdown for eight days. Oh, that’s gonna that’s gonna Oh, for goodness sake. Okay, that’s gonna delay things, isn’t it? All right, scouting’s complete on Russell. Let’s see. What does he want? What does he want? So, we go next season. There’s no buy out here, so it’s not going to cost us. Seems like he’s pretty open to to to be honest. Salarywise, 12. I’ll be happy to bump that up to like 15 even. Oh, 15’s well more than we need. Okay, why don’t we just go four? Why don’t we just go the 12.5 and then put a signing bonus of like half a mil? I can then I can bump that up to 13 million. One 12.8. I reckon I I feel like he goes for this. I feel like he goes for this. If we bring this down, is that going to change anything? Okay. Yeah. 14 days. That seems pretty reasonable. All right. Let’s send it. Let’s I feel good about this. This is This is a pretty good price. 12 million 12.8 8 million a year is pretty damn great. I I feel compared to deals we’ve done before where we’ve had to pay like didn’t we pay Antonelli like or at one point we’re paying Anthony or one of our drivers in the original AR um series like last year like 15 million uh a year. So I think 12.8’s pretty damn great sponsor plan. This is messed up man. I I hate this glitch. I saw a comment about trying to boost our marketability. So maybe we go and try and sign some affiliate drivers just to try and boost our marketability. I’m going to try and put an offer for Dennis Herger. Try and get him as affiliate. I think we did that before actually in this previous series. He’s pretty good driver to sign on affiliate. Maybe Enzo Fipi could be one as well. Manel, let’s go for him. It’s not it’s not the Manel you’re thinking of, but people get confused by the name and that will make our team more marketable. Right. Rolling on into Spain. Simulating this one. Not expecting anything like that. We could double DNF. I wouldn’t flinch. 12th and 17th with the craziest the what is this strategy? What is this strategy? What are we doing here? Three stop. Three sets of softs right from P12. Perez. Maybe he could sneak into the points. I doubt it though. The tire wear seems pretty bad if he if he’s on a on a standard three stop to to to start it off with. I went on a two and it’s no points there. It’s P15 and it’s a DNF for Perez. Doesn’t really matter. It’s fine. The snappen wins it though. So he comes back at Lando in the championship. Llur up to P3 after a solid finish for him. Second place actually. Pretty good 23 there for Ferrari. Very strong for bloody Nor. Strong race for Alpine. 11 and 13 places gained. Well, there is on some unbelievable rocket ship magic going on in this season so far. It makes no sense. And it means now Oh no, Owlpine now scored 19 points. We’re down to 10th in the championship. That P6 fights looking a little bit more difficult now with Alpine 19 points. Williams 10. We are going to have to score some serious points in coming races and I’m hoping we can with the upgrades coming coming the way. Mark my words as we got some growth for our technical chief. Oh, there’s a counter offer. Counter offer from Russell. 14 million signing. Oh, they want to Oh, he’s up in the signing bonus and that bonus threshold 21st. Are you having a laugh? That is ridiculous. Um, no. You’re not getting you’re not getting that bonus threshold of 21. Come on now. pretty looks all right. It’s all tick. So, I feel like he’ll go for it now. It’s all ticks. Fine. 14 million. We said we were fine with like 15 million we’ve done before in previous ways. Well, having to counter off the affiliate drivers as well. And he’s Wow. What is going on today with the contracts? These lot are having a laugh. 1 million for affiliate driver. No, absolutely not. I’m not having it. I’m not having it. No, we’re not going to sign any affiliate drivers there. Going to rush through manufacturing two side pods and the underfloor as well. We’re down to 3 million. We are spending money like we we have it, but we just don’t. But I’m desperate for some performance. Russell’s come with another counter offer. He really wants this bonus threshold to be 21. That’s ridiculous. He basically just wants an extra 300k every race. I’m going to give him 15th. I I don’t want 15th, but I I feel like we need to really go for him cuz this probably is going to be the best deal we get uh to get a driver. Like we will not be getting a better driver than Russell in terms of pure driver rating at this price point in terms of the rest of them would have to buy up their contracts every single time. And Alex Dunn is growing very quickly. 73. Loving that. And just before we go into the Canadian Grand Prix, we got a new rearwing side pod. Wonderful. And actually chassis as well. We didn’t actually get that made um even though I had it designed. So we’ve now got that. All right. So, we technically got four upgrades on the car. Hopefully, this is going to be a big big step in the right direction. I’m so confident in our upgrades. I’m going to simulate Q1. Watch out. This backfires. It’s It’s going to backfire, isn’t it? Of course it did. Oh, I knew it. Why? Why do I Why did I Why Why did I do that? Why did I Oh, I’m just I’m just Come on. It’s like our 5 billionth season of this game. It’s uh I’ve got to the point where I’m not getting too personal about it. We’re just we’re just having a laugh and that’s just Oh, of course. Of course. Oh, come on. Really? I thought our car was going to be a bit better than that. That we can guarantee ourselves into Q2 as Botas comes out now. Come on, man. You’re our only last hope. I feel like that’s an all right lap time, but I can’t tell cuz it’s so up and down with all the teams. Like H look pretty good now, but just last race Alpine looked amazing. So where are they? Ricardo got knocked out. Alpine just scored massive last race and now Ricardo’s knocked out and Gass is the only Alpine left. So it’s um it’s very turbulent in this save. Well, I don’t know what happened over the winter uh in the save when we started the series, but some voodoo magic in terms of just how turbulent the performances are going to be from every single team here. We’re going to go again now right at the end of the session. Just going to lap in to safely get through into Q3. I feel like we are aiming for Q3, which is why I was surprised. I was just It’s just laughable that we got knocked out cuz I think this car now could sneak into the top three uh top 10, sorry, as it’s overcast a little bit now. Looks like there’s a lot of traffic here. Purple middle sector there from Botas. Oo, Valtry Botas crossing the line. 0.068 off stappen. Oh, we’re safe. And yet Perez was knocked out. Pashid comes through with a much better lap time. Much needed lap time for him and McLaren. Let’s see who gets knocked out again. What did I say? Turbulent. Norris knocked out. Gassley. Alonszo. Both Astonins are knocked out. Both Hassa through. Um I mean that’s really the only shock here to be honest. Both Hassa and then obviously us. First one out. 098. Don’t know. That’s good. Let’s see. 410 off the Ferrari. Okay. Maybe a little bit of time to find. Sitting in P4 though. Some pretty some pretty awful laps for the Mercs and LLA as well. 1.4 off. Really not a great lap there for. We’re down to P6 now as we get to the end of the session. Let’s go now. Good amount of clean air, I think, when we uh start our lap and hopefully not too many cars we have to overtake. Maybe just Aon to overtake. Where are we? Where are we? Let’s see on board as we run through. Aon’s coming up. He gets out of the way. Beautiful. Oh, it’s been two yellows though. Oh, that’s not been a great lap for Vry. That’s not a great lap. And it’s no improvements. It’ll be P6 only. I say only. That’s bloody fantastic if we actually start P6. What a turnound for the books here. Magnus doesn’t even set a time. So it is going to be P6 is it’s a woeful qual for both Merks and Llur Russell mate. Sign for us. We’ve just outqualified you. Sign for. That’s a huge turnaround for the books here in the season. P6. It’s a wonder what four upgrades can do for you. Four. four big upgrades with plenty of ATR spent. That is what you can do when you actually focus in and uh just maximize everything as V staff is on pole though off the back of the win at the Spanish Grand Prix. He’ll be happy with that. Both H up there though, so we’ve got stiff competition in terms of that P6 fight as H look to score again. At least we can try and outscore Alpine this time. Hopefully that’ll be quite big. Obviously, I want to get Perez up there though. We need to get Perez up there. I think we need to go for the one stop for Perez as well. If we’re doing that for Botas, there’s just there. There’s no point not doing it. Might even go for a bit of an aggressive onetop. Soft tire for Perez. I mean, if the car is actually that much better, surely he makes overtakes. I’m going for it. Both on a one stop, but more aggressive for Perez cuz he’s just from 15, so just a lot more places to gain. But I I feel like we should be confident off the back of that P6. The car is looking a lot better with those upgrades. Let’s go for it. Come on. Points. Actual points that we have got, not just the simulation. Well, it’s great to have you with us, folks, as we settle in for the weekend’s Grand Prix action. As we get to this race, our focus shifts to Valtry Botas. They must be excited to start sixth, but it’s a long race, so they need to keep a cool head. But remember, anything can happen in Formula 1. This is it. We’re moments away now at the Canadian Grand Prix. It’s lights out and we’re underway from P6. It’s a so stars. We get bogged down a little bit behind Ollie Bman and Espen off into turn one. Perez fighting in the walls in the thick of it for P14 trying to go around the outside of the RV. Gets minced a little bit. Come on, Czecho. Come on. You’ve scored our only point of the season so far. We know you have more in you. You need to close up as Botas remains in P6 and on the back of Ollie Bman, which is one of our main rivals in in the championship uh in this early stage. So, good signs. Good signs. Let’s just fast forward this through. Yellow flags. Perz got Hajar. Good P14. What was the yellows for? Bortalto. He’s span it. Bortletto has span it. And he’s now miles back as Botas curses as he can’t quite make the overtake on the H. There was it. Need to now try and calm this down just a little bit. Perez right behind Lance Stroll. Good. Keep the pressure on. Botas. Keep the pressure on. Right. Temperatures just soaring a little bit. Let’s go. Medium. Medium there. Come on. Come on. Right. Bot ass. Oh, Bearman’s got a car issue. Bman’s got a mechanical issue. Llur’s all over the back of us though. But we can definitely get Bareman. You feel Let’s push with the ERS. Yeah, there we go. Closing up. Oh, there’s quite a fight going on ahead. Hamilton the Oon P3. Bloody Nora. Oh, here we go. Yes. Yes. Satisfaction in the series. It was such a depressing time last episode. Come on. Let’s make some overtakes. Let’s have some fun. Oh, he he couldn’t quite finish it, but we’re nearly there. We’re nearly there. Trying. Trying. Yeah, try harder, mate. Try harder. Come on, man. Perez is just one angry man in this series so far. Well, let’s go attack. Come on. We need to get past Stroll here. You need to get past this this gaggle. Oh, here we go. On the outside of Hajiar now. Finish it off on Stroll. There we go. That’s better. Push away now, please. Push away and break DRS. There we go. He’s got it. He’s got it. He’s got it. Right, Botas. Let’s take some inspiration. Let’s blitz it just for a little bit, mate. Just for a little bit. Let’s blitz it up to P. Oh, nearly P5. Come on. Come on. Come on. Down the inside of Bman here. No, that H is actually really, really good at defending. I mean, Okon’s P2 for goodness. What have they What is in the water? What is in the coding with this saber vials? We’ve got Alpine doing insane last raids. H is now here in P2. What is happening? Bot ass. Do you want to do something? No. Okay. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. He’s hearing me. Yep. Do something then. Still nothing. Oh, he got Bman, did he? Oh, he finally got Bman. Thank god he got him. Let’s watch the overtake. Hallelujah. He got him. He got him. This was bottom on the inside. Oh, into the hairpin. Okay, good stuff, mate. Good stuff. Come on. Come on. Come on. Top five. Top five. And then Perez. Where is he? Oh, Albon’s annoying him a little bit. We need to push on a little bit more here. Oh, Perez getting swarmed. He’s got done by Albon. No. I mean, we’re fighting a McLaren to be fair, so we’re in good company. But Perez is getting stuck in this battle and we can’t just quite close up to this. If we just get bridge this 3second gap, we’ll be then be able to DRS ourselves into the fights with these guys. Whereas Botas is sticking with and McLaren, what is happening here? McLaren imploding maybe as they are. Weren’t they number one in the R&D shot? And yet we’ve just overtaken him for P4. Perez is up to P12 now. And now we’ve actually started to see some tire wear from some people and I think we are well we’re in the train here with Perez. Big big train here in this bat bit. So Perez P12 slowly making his way up. Botas is now angry cuz Pash’s overtaken him. But that’s really not that bad cuz we are there’s a big gap from Botas to the next car. So we are hopefully comfortably cementing ourselves in the top five here with Botas. With Perez we’re on the cusp of points. Bareman and Russell both slow with mechanical issues. This is our time now. Let’s push a bit. Let’s push a bit. Come on. Okay, we got Bayman with a major car issue. And now looking to get the man we might be trying to sign soon for next season. We get George Russell. Come on. Come on. Surely that makes him want to sign for us seeing that we’ve overtaken him in the caddy. And we’re P10 now. and looking for P9 as Botas all on his own accord is fighting Pashri still for P4 is up to P9 he’s got LLA’s falling away on the softs come on oh we’re looking for the move on the Alpine Gastly oh it’s a wonder what four upgrades can do oh we’re actually enjoying life saving fuel with bot ass people make some pits we’re going longer of course so let’s just save the fuel now whilst we can yeah Alonzo’s getting caught up in a fight with Vistappen here or he was Vistappen now cleared him I think with the earlier stop so this is a very good time to save fuel all right Vistappen gets us but we’re not in the fight with Vistappen today so that’s fine pit window open for Perez and start pushing now all right let’s keep going Perez oh bloody Nora Perez in the thick of it here with Antonelli and Hamilton knock on behind pushing on trying to eek out last bit of performance on this soft we get did we get Antonell there. Yeah, we did. Oh, he made an overtake on Antonelli despite being lower fuel just pushing hard on the outside. Visor cam here. Nice. Keep going. Keep going. Botas defending the Ferrari behind him. Hamilton. Perez is going to be coming in. So, that’s fine. We’re all good. We’ve we’ve used the tire literally to the maximum there. All right, Perez in. Let’s see what kind of l pit stop that is. Please be all right. Please. No. 8.8 A mistake for Perez. Devastation. Oh, he’s out on six. 18th. Really? 18th. That’s That’s just horrendous. All right. Botas pushing. Optimal pit stops now. Going to keep going, though. Let’s stick with uh stick with uh the Ferrari if we can. Oh, okay. Aon’s got us. Aon’s got us. Okay, maybe now is the time to come in if’s overtaking us there. Our tire. Let’s go. All right, we’re in. Please be an okay pit stop. Please don’t be slow. Please don’t be slow. Please, lads. Please. Good. Not bad. Not bad. 2.8. We’ll take that. We’ll take that. We’ll take that. We’ll take that. Pit the same lap as was that. Yeah. Push, push, push. Get the temperatures back in the tire. Oh, yellows mechanical for Oh, there’s an RB. That’s round. What’s happened there? Something’s happened massively. Oh,llair’s been caught up. What’s the replay? What’s happened here? Clair. Oh, I think he’s gone for a move. It’s the Ferrari’s fault. Oh, late dive. And he’s just taken them both out. And the RB has held up the Ferrari. Oh, dear me. Oh, well, that helps us out a lot then. That’s one less car to worry about. No. Red flag. Really? That’s just after we made the pit stop. 14th and 15th. You are joking me. Oh, let’s have a look as we go into round four. Need to be watching those track limits and you really can’t Oh, for goodness sake. Right. Well, we’re going to stick to the same set of hards cuz we’re going going to go to the end. That’s the the game plan from here. Probably it’s going to be the same game plan for everyone now. Brilliant. Oh, no. Maybe not. Some people on softs and mediums. I can see. Okay, maybe not everyone’s game plan then. Let’s push here. 1415. Perez making moves. Botas now, ironically, is the one behind in traffic. Brilliant. All right, let’s burn the ERS a little bit and then go neutral. Go neutral. Right. Well, I’m going to just fast forward this quite a fair bit cuz right now we’re just stuck in traffic here. I going balance now on the fuel cuz we’re cook cooking the engine a little bit. Botas up to P13. Per 16 still. At least some of these guys are making pit stops then. But that screwed us over. We would have been on for a top five, I think, with Botas. But now, well, he’s P11. Perez P12. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Let’s keep going. Bit of fuel at this point. Yeah. Let’s go. Bit of fuel. Oh, Perez, you need to shake that car. You need to shake that car ASAP, man. Oh, no. Stroll. Stroll’s actually broken away with us. That’s annoying. And Perez actually can’t break away from Porch Air. Yellow flags ahead. Oh, Alonzo’s crashed. Where has this been? Wall of champions. Is it grazes it? Graze is it? Not much of a crash. All right, some people making pit stops. So, bot us down to the top 10. Hopefully some more pit stops to help us out, but I’m having to eek out the tire to make sure we get to the end. Yellow flags again for what? What is that? Is that going to help us? No. Bman locks up. Hamilton leading the way by the way right now. Both Alpines have managed to get into the top 10 now with this red flag. Brilliant. Are there going to be pit stops for these guys? Some of these guys might have pit, but they might get to the end. All right, I think we’re 10 laps to go. I’m just going to go full balls to the wall cuz we got the tire wear for it. I think I think we can just go full attack. They can wreck the tires and it’ll be fine, right? Let’s go. Let’s go. Bas P10. We could get P eight and N. They both got car issues. They both got tire wear issues surely. And maybe even the owl pins if they fall away. Come on. Perz, where are you? You’re just like stuck in the battle with poor chair. Poor chair has just been annoying us this entire time. Use a bit of deploy to get away if we can. Come on. Okay, we broke broke DRS botas. Let’s use some deploy here. Come on. Come on. Come on. Close up. Close up. All right, we’re gaining. We’re gaining here. We’re gaining. We’re gaining. Okay, here. Here we are. Lovely. Big car issues for these guys. Come on. It’s game on for at least P8. For at least P. I’ll take that. I’ll take that. Come on. get this move done now on the outside. Lovely. And now on Fernando Alonzo, two-time race winner in this season so far. Botas sends it down the inside and he’s made it. Beautiful. Perez P11. He could get points here. Stroll 43% tire wear. Surely falling away. Come on, Perez. He’s in DRS. I think he gets P10 by the end of the race. And then can we catch Gastley with a lot of tire wear there. I don’t know how these boys are doing it though. Alpine jammy bastards. And Perez has got stroll. All right, three laps to go and we’re gaining on Gastley. Going to go top up whilst we have DRS here just to save battery. And we can use it all now. Here we are. Oh my god. Gassley and Ricardo are right here. Botas mate, you just need to get a move on. You need to just like absolutely floor it. And then Perez, have you got anything? No, you’re just fighting Stroll. Okay. Oh, we got a bit of fuel here. Okay, we’ll use it on the last lap. Getting to the last lap. Vappen leads the way from Hamilton. 0.6. So, there’s a proper battle for the race win here. But can Botas, can we do anything on the two? Oh, they’re so close together. Yeah, he’s annoyed. He should be annoyed. He needs to be getting these moves. Come on. Come on, man. All good. How are you? No, it’s not all good. How are you not making a single overtake here, mate? How Perez just defends from Stroll. Come on. Come on. You got to get one of these guys. We’ve got battery to use on the end. By the way, here we are at the hair pin. This is Lewis Hamilton going for the charge as the last lap of the Canadian Grand Prix. It’s 2021 relived. Hamilton be the staffen. Last lap, last corner. Will Hamilton get it? He goes from the right to left. Vstafen defends the inside and he will just just about keep it. What ass? Come on. What you got? What you got? What you got on this last straight? Use it all. Use it all. Yes, we can get P7. We can get the Red Bull, but Alpine get P5 and six again. Another big double points for Alpine. How have they done that? How have they done that? Jammy bastards. But we’ve scored P7. Our first points managing Caddy is a P7. That’s a good sign. The lucky number P7. Come on. And Perez gets P10. Double points. That’s a big improvement from the last race we managed. Really is. Big race for the McLaren boys. At one point they were having an absolute stinker and then look at this. Look at this unbelievable finesse from Alpine as they score again big time. We score. We’re on the board. Eight points now. Hopefully we can get Hass and then Williams. And then it’s really a case of can we chase down Alpine? That’s really now the new fight there. Can we chase down Alpine? And Merc aren’t too far. You know, they’ve had a bit of a a ropey start to the season. They’re not too far off either. Perez grows to 83. Who would have thought? Okay. And Steuart King 78. Not bad. Design center effectiveness plus 50. Oh yes, we need this. This is going to be massive for us. Okay, bring on the new ATR period. It’s ending soon. Oh, beautiful. This the stars are aligning. This could be a banger for the British Grand Prix. And oh, you love to see it. Just as the stars are aligning, we can confirm Russell. I’m doing it. I’m doing it. I’m doing it. We’re confirming the hire of Russell for next season. That is a big big signing for us. We wouldn’t have got a better driver at this price point of like, you know, no buyout. Yes, we’re paying him a lot. Yes, the race targets a lot, but this is still, I think, the best deal we would have got. Right, we’ve got last remaining ATR. And although we just have that new uh booster for ATR, I’ve just realized that um we don’t have a lot of money because of this frustrating sponsor problem that’s going on. That’s not good. Like we need the the this I don’t know how you fix that, but that’s a problem. That’s a big problem. We don’t have any money basically to make any upgrades right now. Even though we’re we’ve got that design center 50% improvement, I hardly have any cash to do anything right now. We need to wait for a new week weekly income to come in or whatever, but oh, this is painful. We’re not doing anything right now. And just as we speak about money problems, contract ending, contract ending, contract ending, contract ending. Not a lot of time from the last Grand Prix to last year, though. So, I think hopefully we’ll still be relatively pretty damn great. See how it goes for the team simulating through into the race though from the heavy rain qualifying. It is a Oh my lord. What? What? What? What? What? Six to six to 19th. Just ridiculous differences going on up and down. Right. Okay. Let’s see. Are we going to cook? Are we going to get some more points here or no? Oh, Hamilton maybe enjoying a podium there. No, it’s not a podium for Lewis. It is points. It is points for Perez. P8 for 10 places gained whereas Botas goes 11 back. Some really bonkers simulations going on. Antonelli and Mercedes get off the mark with third place there. So that’s pretty big for them because now Oh well, we do gain. We’re ahead of Williams now, but H scored. Oh, H scored really big there. Oh no, Aon. Aon scored really big there. So although we got ahead of Williams, we’ve now got H and Owlpine to try and catch. But this is a this is going to be a nice enjoyable battle I think in this first season to have to try and catch these guys if we get enough money to do anything was we just earn 1.1 million there from the uh race targets. But this is a big problem. I’m almost tempted guys. Let me know in the comments below. Um you know especially for those of you watching to this point of the video. I know you guys are the most dedicated guys if you’re watching to this point halfway through the video basically. Um, should to make I I I feel like this is some sort of glitch. Like I’ve never seen this where we are so far from the target. And for what for what reason are we so far? Like I honestly feel like I’m going to ask the question. Will you guys accept maybe me modding the difference of the money we should be earning? Because this is crazy. How are we not meeting the target to get the to to get the max funding here? Like we’re doing everything we can and yet still spent a lot of money there. We’re we’re down to 686 cuz I’ve done a new suspension, side pod, and front wing. We’ve maximized everything we can with all the ATR whilst we’ve got the design center effectiveness plus by 50%. So this will come in not for this next race cuz these will take too long, but for next episode, this could be another huge climb up in terms of performance. Okay. Of course. Of course, the British Grand Prix was always going to have some rain, but heavy rain could be a big spanner into the works for us for sure. I don’t know how the car is going to do in wet weather. We haven’t really seen it in wet weather that much in front of our own eyes. So, let’s pray. Let’s pray. I’m actually going to manage Q1 this time, so we can get both drivers through. I hope it’s going to be basically the same amount of rain the entire time. So, let’s just send them both out. We’ve got uh Hamilton with maybe a car issue or penalty of some sort off the bat off rip, which is not great for the British home crowd, but for us could help out. I don’t know. I mean, we’re not really fighting Ferrari, but you know, it’s just one less car to to worry about if they’re down the order. Perez with a very clean lap through the moment. Bot ass. Let’s see. The time’s flying in. There’s a lot of different times there. And Botas is going to have to go again. I think I’m both drivers. It’s pretty damn close, actually. Oh god. Okay, we’ve popped in our times and we’ve gone slower. Oh, we need to come in ASAP. The water’s gone down, I think. And the track’s even quicker. Yellow flag. Strolls span it. Right, this is it. This is it. Everyone’s on a last flyer right now. Botas is in the drop zone. Perez just about making it in. It’s a yellow, green, yellow. Oh, this is going to be shocking. Well, crash down to reality then after a great Canadian Grand Prix. One of us is knocked out again and Perez just about scrapes through P16. But we just cannot catch a break, can we Cadillac? Oh, it’s so much shrier right now. Go, go, go. All right, let’s go. Czecho. Come on. Manually prepared him. Hopefully, it’s going to be a good lap. I hope we don’t catch any traffic right at the end there. There’s a spin from Gastley. That could be costly for him, but for us, no. The Ferrari. Get out the way, man. What are you doing? Abysmal. Abysmal being held up there by that Ferrari. T8 it is. Okay. Okay. Okay. And the rain’s going to start coming down, right? Yeah. The rain started. Surely Surely no one’s improving. Surely no one is improving. And we’re through. We got to be through. Both Ferraris out. Serves them right for holding me up at the end of that lap. Surely they’re not improving. Seven 0.7 mm of water. That’s enough to slow them down, right? Got to be. Got to be. Hamilton crosses the line. Yeah, it doesn’t go quicker. Cool. We’re all good. We’re into We’re into Q3. That is vindication right there for the end of that lap. All right, first lap. Per is in a lot of clean air. Rain looks like it’s going to be about the same for most of the session, but let’s see. Obviously, that was the case in Q1 and then it did change actually, very subtly. So, let’s watch out for the see if the rain’s going to Oh, spam. Oh, no. He span after he finished his lap. Okay, that’s fine. That’s fine. That’s fine. It’s all good at village after the lap was done. It’s fine. P3 right now. That was a very good lap actually after he span. No wonder he span. He probably blitzed the car as quick as it ever is going to go today as the water’s going up slightly, very subtly. So surely no improvements to be made, but we’ll still go out. We’ll still go out there just in case. No improvements, but no one else is cuz the water is a lot more there was at the start of the session. So that is actually really good after the disappointment of Botas. P3 for Perez would be unbelievable actually. That’s actually crazy. The finesse there, the wet qualifying has helped us out massively. Second row alongside our new signing for the next season. That’s pretty nice. It did say heavy rain for this race, but we’re starting in dry conditions. Dry to heavy rain. Yo yo. Okay. Yeah. Soft to wet then. soft to wet surely uh and then in for the rest of it. That’s a bit of a bonkers weather pattern then. That’s mental. Okay. So, just flat out pushing then I guess to the end to the to the wet period. I might go medium just so that we can push the entire time whereas this cuz we know the soft’s going to wear out a lot. Like if we go medium is that let’s change that with bot ass. Let’s go medium for him cuz then we can push that much harder surely. If we go medium and push, I think that’s the way to go. I think we can push harder on the medium and then go two laps less of fuel knowing that we can save in the wet period. I feel good about that. I feel very good about that. Let’s go. Final checks are anticipation is high and the drivers are ready for this. The British Grand Prix and it’s right and away we go from the second row at the British Grand Prix. How’s it going to go? everyone on soft surely apart from us on mediums but I’m I’m playing playing it tactically of just wanting to push longer and harder into the rain into the wet period on the medium so he might be a bit slow initially but trying to just pay out for the high tire where we know that is here around Silverstone Russell gets us to be expected that’s fine that’s fine go neutral and we stay pushing don’t need to do any management here we just let them push flat out the problem Everyone else is pushing flat out. So, can Botas make up any positions? Going to be difficult. Perez maintains P4. Bit of a We’re a bit of a bottleneck though there as OP gets past this. Look at that mini map. Big bottleneck on the medium, but surely everyone starts wearing away on the soft a lot quicker than us. Rain started. Cool. See, look. We got Okon back. We got Okon back or we’re fighting Okon back at least a little bit more than I think we would be at this stage. Botas is P19 though, so it’s not helped Botas. He could have maybe done with the soft, but I think Perry is holding his own very nicely. All right, the rain’s coming through. Car crash. Oh, Botas was involved. No, Botas involved with a crash with Hajar. Oh dear. Oh no. Oh, he’s absolutely taken out Hajar. Oh, is there a punisher or something? Oh no, major front wing damage. We have one front wing left. He is lucky. We’re going to have to go stroll to wets surely. No. No. Don’t pit. Don’t pit. We’re canceling this pit stop. Just carry on. Carry on. You can’t come in yet. You can’t come in yet. Penalty to Hajar. Okay. Look at the tire wear though. Look at We’ve got much better tire wear. Surely this will help us a little bit. No, we’re down to P6. Science up to P4. The Williams is cooking. Russell’s P1. The tracks now damp. We continue on. Everyone’s in. Everyone came in earlier than us. Our pit strategy was wrong. Oh dear me. Oh deary me. Yeah, could be. Oh, we’re going to get cooked here. Oh, Perez P6 still. Not too bad, actually. That’s actually not bad. He didn’t lose much. And then Botas obviously was always going to be stoned dead last with the front wing change. All right, pushing like a stab rat with Perez knowing that we’re going to come on to intermediates later. So yeah, no need to try and protect these tires. All right, Perez just unable to really make any inroads on Albon. Looks like the Williams have come to Silverstone with a very good upgraded package. P3 and five. Every race there seems to be a new level of performance for the the the teams we’re fighting and the constructors. This is ridiculous. When is this inter period coming? Okay. Um Oh, driver. Oh no. Carries around W. It’s technically in now. Copy. I think we come in. I think we come in. It’s not going to get any wetter, is it? It’s going to be in. So, let’s come in. Both drivers in. Perez in. Bot ass in. Let’s go. Let’s go. It’s not going to get any wetter, right? Yeah. Yeah. We’re good. We’re good. We’re good. It’s it’s it’s time for in. Okay. People are coming in as well. Perez up to P10. Tai’s overheating a bit. We’re ahead of Antelli. I don’t know what that means. People still coming in. Perez swooping through to P8. We’re behind Albon who is still on full wets. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Botas has made no inroads on anyone. We’re 24 seconds back. All right, pair’s up to P5 now. Okay, good. Cool. Okay, so we did gain two positions then as there’s uh multiple cars have crashed involving who is it involving Hamilton or is it down below the uh Oh, it’s the Alpine. That’s good for us. All right, we carry on like this. I think we are looking to make another stop maybe. I don’t know. Oh, Hulkberg with a punch here. Okay, tracks back to wet. It’s just about trying to be very calm and cautious. Let’s avoid risk herbs. Be very easy in this period of the race. Take it easy. No risks. No risks. Yellows. Oh, see Albon made a mistake. He’s down to P8. Agile span it as well. So, just avoid risk curbs at this point. Get back to the interior, which is coming soon. It’s coming going to come down in a little bit. Aron’s gaining on us, but we’re just being cautious. Safety car. Safety car. Ooh. Okay. What kind of tire were we saying? Is it worth pitting? Like is there a gap anywhere? Doesn’t look like it. Okay, I think we just stay how we are. Then we stay how we are. Are people coming in? Ooh, the leaders are coming in for a fresh set of in. Okay, I think we come in then. I think we come in. If they’re if they’re all coming in, I think we should do do that as well. Fresh in for everyone. Norris stays out. We’re going to come in. I’m going to come in. P10 with fresh in. I’d rather fresh in. I’d rather fresh in. I think we’ve got pace. But there was a delay on the pit stop, so we could have been even higher than P10. That’s a bit frustrating. The safety cars coming in. Push, deploy. Go attack, push, deploy. Right. Let’s go, Perez. Come on. Let’s see some moves here. Let’s see some moves on the fresh intermediates. Please fast this through. 15 laps to go. Surely we make the most. Oh, here we go. Already made a move on Magnus. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. 15 laps. I think we can just wreck these into Surely. Oh, there’s a massive gap cuz Albon’s holding everyone up here. You need to get by. You need to get by. You need to get by ASAP, man. Come on, Perez. No, we’re getting held up in this. We’re nowhere near the top six now because of these guys. Oh, we got Alonzo, but that won’t matter. Now, there’s been an incident. The CL’s really held us up. Actually, look, it’s actually the Ferrari bloody hold held us up this entire time. Overdid on the in. We actually wrecked our ines. We the new tire. Oh, rain stopped. Okay, interesting. Water’s coming down quite rapidly. We’re fighting P10 with Hamilton. Is there a chance for a late pit stop to do some heroics? I think now we push. Oh, Waters coming down. Bortas, what’s Bas got to lose? P8. May as well pit. See what kind of pace he’s got. Meanwhile, Perez P10. We’ve just lost that to Albon. Oh, these guys just had too much pace and we wrecked the tires. We did. We We wrecked them too much. We pushed way too hard on the uh safety guard restart. So, it’s only going to be P10 then one point, it seems as Botas leads the pits on dry tires. It is dry tire period maybe. Do we come in? Do we come in? Do we call people’s bluff? Is there enough pace? [Music] Three laps will be rapid. Let’s gamble one point. What’s one point? What’s one point? We may as well come in and gamble it. Come in. Come in. Oh, we’re already up to P. We went P8 to 14 in one lap there with Perez. Rapid time. We were with Czecho. No battery here. Come on. Keep pushing. Keep pushing. Two more positions gained. Oh, look at this. We’re flying through P12, P11, 10 again. Okay, so all of that just to get P10 again cuz uh where is Albon? Yeah, Albon and Hamilton fighting. So it was worth the gamble. We finished P10 either way and had some fun doing it on the last lap as we gained eight places in one lap there to get back to P10. Pastry wins it from Mustafen to Norris. Science P4 fastest lap for Perez. That’s at least something I suppose. But Botas had a woeful race. Ah, one point. One point. And now Williams are a problem in for us in the constructors. Williams and H are both problems for us, but for the fights on that’s that’s doable. That’s doable with the big upgrades coming next episode uh with the a boosted ATR that we we can take the fight to them and for the for for elsewhere in the championship. Pashri gets off the mark a little bit. Otherwise, it’s uh well, Red Bull and Ferrari fighting each other to try and close up to McLaren. Guys, if you have enjoyed this one, then be sure to hit the like button. A much better episode for us in terms of actually getting off the mark, breaking 10 points, 13 points, and it’s game on with this fight for Williams, H, and Alpine, sorry, as well. That is the fight that we’re on. And if we can just make another big step forward like we did into Montreal, I’m confident that we can come back at these guys. But it’s been some topsyturvy races and I hope you guys have been enjoying them. But till next time, hope your day. Goodbye.
