WWE 2K25: Latest DLC Previews, 2K26 Legends Roster, AJ Lee & More!

In this video, we have the first of September’s DLC previews for WWE 2K25 with the reveal of El Grande Americano. We’re talking differences between the DLC and what we seen in the island. While in other news, we have updates on Ric Flair, news of a potential legend returning in 2K26, and an update on AJ Lee and her possible inclusion following a return on Smackdown. Before we get into any of that though, if you’re new to the channel and you want to stay up to date with all the latest wrestling game news, then please do hit that subscribe button and turn on your notifications so that you don’t miss out on future videos. We start this round up with the latest DLC updates where we’re talking El Grande Americano as ahead of his upcoming release, the WWE Games account have revealed the first look at his character. [Applause] The release of El Grande comes as part of an update to the new wave DLC pack. As when that pack was first announced, it was originally planned to include a special celebrity guest. Though, just 24 hours before the pack released, the WWE Games account denounced that the celebrity guest would be delayed and revealed in a future announcement by WWE. After two months of radio silence and hundreds of posts from fans asking for an update, it was announced in July that the celebrity guest was being replaced with none other than El Grande Americano with a release date set for September. The footage of El Grande confirms that we’re getting the original Chad Gable version of the character as the entrance footage shows El Grande wearing the original singlet he wore for his debut match against Dragon Lee. When it comes to his mask, a lot of players reacting to the entrance have pointed out a glaring mistake as the mask appears to use the wrong colors as it features blue on the wings and red on top whereas El Grande’s mask has red on the wings and then blue on the top to match the US flag. The reason for the color change appears to come down to his render is ahead of his debut, WWE released an image of El Grande wearing a mask that featured blue wings and red on top. And it appears that this version of the mask is what the developers have used, though the mask was never used on TV. As this mistake is just a color swap, it’s possible that we could see this corrected by the time that the DLC is released. As like we’ve seen in other previews, this isn’t necessarily the final version. While the render looks to be the reason for the coloring, some players speculated that the change may also be to differentiate this from the version of the mask in the island as that version of the mask uses the correct colors with the only real difference being the placement of the stripes as the island version features extra stripes below the nose. Going back to the entrance footage, the clip also confirms the addition of some new voice over as you can hear Grande shouting gracias while on the turnbuckle. [Music] The inclusion of the voice over suggests that the character will also come with a new voice taunt as Gable already has his thank you taunt that features his audio. So, it’s likely we’ll see Al Grande use a version of this with his own voice over. As for when we’ll be able to play as Al Grande, no specific date’s been announced for the character. Though the ITRA DLC pack is due to release on September 17th, so it’s possible that we could see him released alongside that or slightly earlier as part of the next patch update. Speaking of the ADR pack, previews for the DLC are set to begin next week, as we usually get entrance videos and screenshots around a week in advance. So, there’s a good chance we could see the first of those released on Monday during Raw. On the subject of DLC, let’s switch gears and look ahead to WWE 2K26 as we have news of a former Divas Champion that could be set to make a return to the series. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vleet, Kelly Kelly confirmed reports from earlier this year that she signed a WWE legends deal. Confirmation of her signing came when asked about the possibility of returning to the ring. As Kenny stated, “At the end of the day, I have to thank WWE for my career. They who made me. I wouldn’t have the career that I have if it wasn’t for them. I’m so appreciative of them. That’s why I signed a legends deal and that’s why I still come back all the time. But yeah, I think hopefully a few years down the line where my kids will be able to sit next to me if I’m in the crowd and cheer me on.” The confirmation of signing a legends deal opens the door for a return to the WWE video game series in 2K26. As the terms of the deal include the use of her likeness for merchandising, which includes the option to include her in any upcoming video games, making her a potential candidate as a DLC character in 2K26. Should she return the series for 2K26, this would be her first appearance in nearly 14 years. She last appeared as part of the Divas roster in WWE 13. Up next, we have details regarding Ric Flair’s status in the series. As Flair, who last appeared in WWE 2K22, was recently asked if he was surprised that he wasn’t included in 2K25 and whether anyone let him know about it. Responding to the question, Flair stated, “I knew about it, but I didn’t expect to be as I’m still under contract at AW. Unless you’re on the cover, you don’t make any money anyway. Maybe 0.3% or some damn thing. Flair’s response has garnered a lot of media attention regarding his comments on the amount of money that superstars earn when appearing in video games. As previously, appearances in WWE’se’s video game series were seen as lucrative deals with many former stars including Maven having shared stories of how they’d always make themselves available to be scanned as it would lead to a lucrative paycheck if they were included. While most of the wrestling news sites concentrated on the paycheck news, focusing on WWE 2K26, F’s comments suggest that he won’t be part of the 2K26 roster either due to his current AW contract. While players under the illusion that his AW deal stopped him appearing in 2K25, it appears there may be some sort of workaround. As to everyone’s surprise, Billy Gun, who’s also under contract to AW, was announced as a DLC character for the upcoming RTDR repack, which is set to release later this month. Our next story is a bit of a bizarre one as a head of Smackdown at the All State Arena in Chicago. Triple H power a post on X marking four years of WWE holding events at the arena with a posty shade including a four over mural that’s displayed on one of the walls in the arena and it features various stars that have appeared over the years. The reason this relates to gaming is down to one of the images that was used is if you zoom in on the photo of Andre the Giant rather than use an actual photo they’ve used a screenshot of his character model from 2K22. The exact screenshot that they’ve used appears to be this one as the pose is identical to the one in the mural. So, congratulations to whoever created his 2K22 model as it’s now up on display in the All State Arena. Finally, let’s talk AJ Lee as following her appearance on Smackdown, questions are already starting to be asked over whether or not she’ll appear in 2K26. The good news is that given that she’s now signed with WWE and is still a good 6 months until release, it’s almost certain that she’ll be part of the game. Though, the bad news potentially at least is that she’s most likely set to appear as a DLC character as similar returns that happened late in the year tend to be held back for DLC. On a more positive note, as AJ returned in her new gear, has the same music, and looks set to return to the ring at Wrestle Palooa, and the dev should have everything they need to create her in the coming weeks, with the only potential drawback being whether they’re available to scan her or whether they plan to update her old model. Speaking of her old model, AJ’s last appearance came a little over 10 years ago when she last appeared in WWE 2K15. That appearance was just her third appearance overall as she only appeared in three games in total. WWE 13, where she debuted as a DLC character, WWE 2K14, and finally WWE 2K15. So, the wait begins to say if she’s part of 2K26, though, I think it’s a safe bet to say she will most likely as DLC. So, that’s latest news round up. Let me know what you make of it in the comments. And in the meantime, if you want to add AJ to your roster in 2K25, you can check out the latest creations roundup that I did, which includes a great version of AJ you can download today.
