I tried to Conquer Europe as Napoleon, was it worth it?
Gentlemen, ladies, we are back once again with the Napoleon Total War. Just win Napoleon. We have triumphed in Italy. We have conquered Egypt. Now for the main event, Europe. All will fall before Napoleon. Viv Viv France. Very well. First order of business, shut the adviser up. Second order of business. What the hell am I looking at? All right. So, we have a job to do. To win this, we must, let’s see here, control five victory regions as well as a total of 35 regions. We need Brandenburgg, Moscow, East Prussia, France, and Austria. Um, I think the only one I’m vaguely worried about is Moscow, which is very far away, and it looks a little cold. Now, historically, the success chance of marching large armies into Russia has has been very positive. So, I have no doubts that we will, you know, conquer them easily. Easily. Where is the emperor? That’s not the emperor. Are you the emperor? No. Where is the emperor? There is the emperor. So, we got a couple of armies around here. I’m thinking uh group them up, march them into Austria. Another army here. We’ll try to build this out. And yeah, looking at this. 1 2 3 4 5 6 seven regions. Eight nine nine regions. Maybe we should conquer Austria first or at least cut them down to size significantly and then focus on the other enemy. Then we have Britain over there. I don’t need anything from Britain to win. So I can theoretically completely ignore Britain and just keep like a reserve army around uh Paris or Brussels or K and just smash whatever they land. Ah, we have a navy. My instinct says we should blockade Gibralar. This is probably not the world’s largest navy, but it might be sufficient. All right, start convoy raiding. Yes. And we have a navy over there as well. Corvettes and frigots. Group up with that fleet. So, we have one big stack of fleets. Now, for the army itself, we will need to organize. The idea being we want to group up as much stuff as possible to take on the Austrians. Ah, hello there. And just send everything in that’s in the vague in the vague area. Just just send it in there. These are not the best troops. So, I’m going to get rid of troops I don’t need. Cavalry is quick enough to just move on up there. I think this is a reasonable stack. I’ll start moving that against the Austrians. Then we’ll group up these two and we’ll prepare for the Prussians, which, you know, I I know my history. I know I can’t trust the Prussians. Uh, bad move to trust Prussia as France. Let’s also see if we can make some friends. If we can get people to trade with us, they’ll they’ll be less likely to hate us and turn on us. Oh, the army is a little small to take on Austria. Just wait the bridge for reinforcement. I’m going to need some militia uh to garrison all those towns I will hopefully be capturing. And to find my richest areas and make them richer. I believe that is the basis of all good economics. Just focus on one or two areas in your country and let everything else rot. Yes, I believe that is how economics are done. This army will hold out here because I expect to be attacked. Handover recruit some troops because we’re fully isolated there. Can’t really move out of it. Let’s see if I can sell some more technology or get people to trade with me. Why are you all broke? Does no one have the money to pay for my technology? Please, please, are you all broke, [ __ ] So, I’ll try to make Paris the main recruitment hub for infantry, maybe artillery, and then just everything in the surrounding area. I really should be building up the infrastructure. Kind of maybe forgot to build roads in several of these places. Yeah. Yeah. So, build troops here, roads in the area to disperse them. And as we push further and further, uh, we’ll shift to new recruitment grounds in the area. Oh, I found an Austrian army. Maybe we can pick a fight. All right, let’s deal a first blow to the Austrians. I could demand their surrender, but I could probably just I could easily autoresolve this. Casualties minimal. Occupy it. And we move on. And now I can move these um militia units in to secure the city next. And then we’ll swing into Venice with two armies. London up toward maybe just one army to Venice and the other army north towards Prague Olmutz and then further on and then yes yes it’s all coming together. I’d rather turn Venice into a recruitment hub instead of Inbuk. So we’ll just burn that down and replace it with something else. We will need roads. Yes, roads are going to be important. Hey, the Russians showed up. Uh it looks like the Bavarians are trying to intercept and I can come in as assistance. O, Koutv, let’s let’s blow you up, shall we? Let’s see if we can fight this one on the map. Hope there’s not too many hills. I like my artillery to actually have line of sight. Damn, it’s hilly and I’m not in the field. Well, not much I can do. Pretty much have to wait for my troops to show up now. Where will we show up from? Okay. All right. We’re on the flanks. I can make that work. Oh my god, we’re wildly out of position at this point. All right. The artillery is also on map them over there. We might actually be able to form something akin to a battle line. Oh my god, there’s a lot of artillery here. This could have gone better. I’ll admit this deployment could have gone better. Still walking in off the map. Yeah, I think that’s everyone in cuz the Bavarians are marching into certain death. I believe if we don’t intercede, they will be blown the hell up. Start marching this forward. It looks like the artillery is basically in position. Just slight course adjustments so I don’t shoot into this hill. Yeah, this is just weird. They’re standing in a line and not responding to the Bavarian troops marching up. You know, older Total War titles have really weird AI. So, the newer ones, but especially older ones. All right, artillery ready to unlimber. Fire at will, gentlemen. Destroy the enemy. My lancers ready. Artillery shooting into enemy artillery, which is fine for the most part, but it’s not what I’m trying to blow up. Enemy cavalry. I am going to try and blow that up, though. God, I love artillery. Yeah, those lancers are not going to have a good time. Uh, they’ll probably possibly try to charge this line and get Shreked. We have them by the proverbial and literal balls. Now, my cavalry is getting shot at. Well, when in doubt, charge. Charge of the light brigade and get them out. Yes. And the lancers have taken care of that. Drive them into the enemy general. God, I love this. I love this so much. Why don’t I play more of these games? I’m having a ton of fun. I do believe the Russian force is um Yeah, heroic victory. Huzzah. That did not go well for the Russians. Uh, I didn’t really lose all that much, I think. Yep. It’s mostly the Bavarians taking damage. Eat. Nice. Excellent. The people of Troll have gone on strike. They are integrating perfectly into French culture. Let’s head up there to Prague. That way, I keep the Austrians in the fight and I can exterminate them at my leisure. There’s an actual army at Prague. You know what? Let’s just move up and see what we can do. might be able to bait them into coming at me, I guess. As expected, they have fallen for the classic blunder, trying to meet Napoleon out in the open fields. That can only go well, right? If I can take out this army, that’s probably the main Austrian force knocked out, and I can have a little bit more freedom to roam. All right, this is looking a little stupid hilly. If I put them here, I should have have excellent advantage here. I should have the range and then just bait them into coming at me. Let’s unlimit the artillery and see if I’m not shooting into myself and then a little bit of artillery down here. Uh maybe that’s a little dangerous. Just put it over there. That’s going to shoot into a tree. He’ll just have to be sensible and not shoot the tree. Let’s see what we can make happen here. I should have very clean lines of fire with the artillery. And I’ll start swinging the cavalry around to harass the flanks. Oh, they’re hitting everything but the enemy. I got one unlucky soul. Let’s focus on shooting the enemy cavalry. Cavalry is easier to hit cuz they’re so big. Ah, perfect. The enemy is getting absolutely demolished by my artillery. Yeah, the way this cavalry is set up, we actually have lines of fire. Uh, the enemy does not. So, we are at a distinct advantage. I can safely shoot over the top of my own lines from this elevated position. Thankfully, I’m not firing directly. Uh, am I though? Yeah, I don’t think I’m firing directly into my own men. That would be suboptimal, I’d say. And let’s sweep the enemy artillery here. And then we can move on to the other artillery position. Or maybe even take out the general. Infantry lines making contact. And it is definitely going my way. And now, let’s go grab his general. If I can kill the general. That will be bad for morale. All right, got the general pinned. Uh, should be able to overpower him. It’s only a small force. And they’re not turning around, which means uh my cavalry shouldn’t get shredded. Shouldn’t. Uh, I say shouldn’t, but they are. They are very much getting shredded. Oh, doesn’t matter. We got the general. They’re running. And he’s dead. Cavalry charge to the rear. To the rear. I think I ran into my own artillery fire. I’ll be honest. I I think I ran into my own artillery fire, which is generally not a good idea. Oh, I think we just killed a second general. All right, hold the artillery fire. I think I think we’ve got him. Another glorious heroic victory. Bested the Austrian main force, I believe, in the field. Limited losses. Fairly limited losses, though. I believe this general’s unit took Ooh, they took a beating. I think they were in the artillery’s line of fire. Yeah, we’ll take the city next turn. So, we’ll quickly fight this battle on the map. Uh hopefully we don’t take too many serious casualties. I’m not looking to lose any actual divisions here. That’s the only reason I’m fighting this on the map in the first place instead of autoresolving. I don’t want to have an accidental case of losing half my army to stupid stuff. Terrain isn’t my friend here. Probably need to reimbur the artillery. Bring it to somewhere like here. Just immediately charge the armed citizenry. And I shot more of my own guys than I shot of the enemy. Ah, cavalry. Not even once. All right, they’re charging lancers. I think they might be trying to go at my cavalry for some reason. And they’re going to get intercepted by my old guard who’ve squared up. And they’re running. Well, goodbye. Let’s halt the artillery. We were already wildly out of position because of the way the battlefield has just completely shifted. Might as well hook them back up. Just keep running these guys down. Jesus Christ. This is a This is butchery. These people shouldn’t be here. These people shouldn’t be here. They have no business being on a battlefield. Well, my artillery started shooting at his remaining cal. They’re running like the cowards. They are. freeze up my cavalry to come in and back door these boys. All right, let’s take them out quickly. Yeah, you’re you’re you’re screwed. I’m going to actually stop firing at will with my own artillery cuz that just shoots into my uh my infantry. So, at this point, uh I I think we’ll be able to mop up whatever they have left. This is this is nothing. This is just armed citizenry. One unit of grrenzers and that’s it. Everyone else is already running. Charge the grenaders in. You know what? Grenades. And now charge after the explosives hit. Oh, charge. That did it. That broke their backs. Pula vict. Another heroic victory. Oh yes. Cavalry took a beating. But overall, yes. Occupy this place. And uh from here we shall rebuild. See if we can repeat that battle on a smaller scale. See if we can take Venice. Yes, I’m sure this is going to go well. Uh-oh. Oh no. They know about my good strong hill. All right, into that artillery. All right, let’s quickly charge his artillery before it can do too much damage. It’s really close. My art my my horses should reach it before they get Oh, if they get a canister shot off now. My horses just shot themselves. My horses just shot the front rank. Oh, it it is not good. All right, extract. Extract. Disengage. Dis Actually, no, no, no need to disengage. They’re not turning to fight me. All right, cavalry in cuz this is armed citizen citizenry. It shouldn’t survive a cavalry charge. It’s very unlikely to survive a cavalry charge. Mop up the jaggers in there. You go, go, go, go. Get the lancers out. Get the lancers out. Second charge to break them. Good amount of damage early on. If we can get them to break instead of route just so we don’t have Yeah, there we go. They’re now no longer my concern. Minimal minimal losses all things considered. Artillery, you can commence firing. Fire at well. Now, what do I shoot this at? Obviously, the enemy general. He’s on a horse. That makes him easier to hit. Close. Close. Not close enough. Yes. Well, not the general himself, but good hit. Good hit. No. No. No. No. No. Abort. Abort. Abort. Abort. Oh, they put pikes down. They put pikes down. Bastard. Scammed me. Almost ran into those pikes. Oh, I think I lost a couple on those pikes even. Oh dear, they’ve got my lancers. Fortunately, my shaser can still do the job. It’s twoonone, guys. Twoon one. You got this. You got this, right? And I think I might actually lose this cavalry duel. Winning. Are you winning? This was a threeonone battle and this one unit of light shassers or whatever. What are they? Hungarian Hazars are winning against Oh my god, they’re beating my cavalry. They’re just outright beating my cavalry now. Yeah, now they have the the edge, the advantage, if you will. So, I I guess we’re running. But I have guns, so I can turn around, shoot at you for a bit, and then run away. Shoot. Shoot her. Shoot her. All right, now pursue. Now charge. Now they’re back to losing slightly. No. No. No. We’re losing. We’re losing. Disengage. You get back there. Get back there, you bastards. I hate it when the units don’t run, but they they just stroll. You pursue. Pursue. Fire. You idiots. Yes. That’s Oh, you didn’t kill anyone. We’re all running. We’re We’re just all running. All right. So far so good. I lost the first duel. Canister shot it is. Then charge. You maintain firing. Maintain firing. Maintain firing. Just shoot the bastards. Point bl. Oh god, the flank. The flank. We’re losing the flank. Oh god, it’s all coming apart at it seems. Run, you bastard. Run. I need you to rally my forces. Engage the armed citizenry. You move up. Move up. Move up. Move up. Okay, you turn. Turn. Engage the armed citizenry. You engage the grenaders. Oh, dear god. Shoot them. Shoot them. Engage. Engage. Engage. Melee. Melee. Melee. Oh, no. No. Fine. Armed citizenry. The general. Throw the general in there. My general is engaged in in combat. That’s never a good sign. Get the general out before he dies. Oh, they’re going to overwhelm my artillery. No. But they still have armed citizenry up there. All right. Throw the general at the armed citizenry then. All right. They’ve been this. They’ve they’ve been turned back. They’ve been turned back. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. You know what? Fire. Charge. Bayonets. Bayonets. Run, you idiot. This is the turning point. This is the moment. The entire unit is dead, sir. Oh. Oh, that is a problem. I can’t see a way that this can be called anything close to a win. All right, shoot the general staff, if you will. All right, the general’s running. All right, combined fire on that last infantry unit, and we might win this. Devastating casualties, though. Oh, this is this is just bad. Well, their generals off the map. I got them in a crossfire. We’ve done it. We’ve won. Victory, but at what cost? Heroic victory, my ass. That is 80% casualties. Hey, but the army didn’t disintegrate. I’ll just keep them there for a bit. Regenerate strength, rebuild everything, and just go from there. It’s just perfect. Now, shut up. So, I decided to liberate Hungary in Budapest instead of actually occupying it. Not sure if that’s a good idea. Never really do trust puppets all that much, but it does mean we have the Austrians more or less isolated. They still have troops in this general area around Vienna, but they only have Vienna itself, Lmberg in Galysia, and Clausenberg in Transylvania. And that’s it for the most part. All right, this should be interesting. Um, forces are about even, just that my army’s really beat up. I think I’m going to try. Combined, we have a slightly smaller force, but we have veterans as opposed to their fresh troops. They have the artillery. No, we have the artillery advantage just as soon as I can get everyone deployed. Obviously, it’s raining. That’s uh less than great. Where do I deploy? I I think my reinforcements come in from this side. So, if I if I deploy somewhere out of the way, so they can’t just quickly overwhelm me and force them to come to me. All right, let’s see if our troops actually reinforce on this side of the map. Yes, more or less. All right, let’s get the artillery firing and get the infantry deployed in a way that makes a little bit of sense. Managed to get their general out of position. And it cost me a lot of my horses. So, a lot of my horses took some bad casualties, but I managed to get them to drop their artillery on, I believe, three two of their artillery pieces. We are outnumbered, but my units are far more veteran than the enemy. All right, as long as I can keep harassing them. Got another one of their cavalry units isolated. Keep harassing the flanks. Run away. Don’t get shot. Just run, run, run, run, run, run. All right, charge them now. All right, this flank is turning. That is potentially dangerous. Get another cavalry charge in. Sh. Sh. I need to get them to break. That second unit is really my concern. And now the third and fourth unit are also my concern. All right, pull out. Pull out. Pull out. Go. Get the hell out of there. Just run run run run run. You know, I really wish they would just run a little faster sometimes. Help. Still did a little bit of damage to them. It It cost me quite a bit of my cavalry. They haven’t destroyed me yet. So, hopefully the artillery can keep doing actual damage. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Let’s get my generals out of the line of artillery fire. All right, charge their last couple of artillery pieces, and this will no longer be my concern. I lost so much cavalry, though. Pretty much the entirety of the cavalry core has been wiped out. All right, switch the canister shot. We begin bombardment close range. At least we got these guys uh dealt with now. Run the cavalry away. They’ve done their jobs. I keep drawing them in. Get them directly into my canister shot. It does appear to be working. It’s working. It’s working. Yes. Yes. Well, assault, you’re out of ammo. Bayonets, boys. Bayonets. Well, I think that’s the last of my cavalry. I’m going to need to rebuild the cavalry core after this uh debacle, I’d say. I do believe we have comprehensively defeated the Austrian army. Last charge on the last unit they still have in the field that’s not routing and we should have them. That should be it. Glorious victory for the forces of Napoleon. Heroic victory. That’s it. Oh, that stack got uh depleted. And that stack also got depleted, but victory nonetheless. That is Austria taken. The fall of Austria. Peace treaty signed. Peaceful occupation. Huzzah. Well, it took us an ungodly amount of casualties. These armies are pretty beat up, but we have the Austrians on the rope. It looks like yes, we are at peace. We have signed a very temporary peace treaty with Austria who’ve been pushed back to just owning Transylvania and Galatia. Oh, they still have an army. Huh. I thought they wouldn’t have an army. Anyway, hopefully the Ottomans can now wipe them out and we don’t come to blows with the Ottoman Empire. It would be nice to have some friends. Oh, they’re indifferent. I’ll take indifferent over hostile. Now, I’m thinking I’ll get uh Napoleon’s army regenerated at least a little bit. Um I’ll need to move a couple of these units just into more slightly better terrain, honestly, cuz this is this is fairly terrible. All right, I’ll try to move these guys like into Austrian territory where they should. Yeah, they’re regenerating much better there. And then this stack is uh entirely beaten up. There we go. Now the entire army can regenerate. We’ll leave the artillery here. They’re they’re not that beat up anyway. And use this big stack to head north towards Sisia, Saxony, and whatever else is over there. This stack here is ready to take on the Prussians. And then we’ll just have to defend Hanover for as long as we as long as it takes really. That’s great. My ally Hessen has declared war on me, as has Prussia and Saxony. Let’s organize Napoleon’s forces and uh get the hell on with business, shall we? The Austrians have also immediately declared war on me. What’s the point of the whole thing if everyone’s just going to immediately follow up by declaring war on you? Well, I guess we’ll just strike a first blow at Prussia then. Um, take cleaves and then march the army minus the militia into handover and then just go from there, I guess. Let’s fight this on the battle map. Oo, I got a nice hill to work with. But, you know, elevation’s not with us. Cavalry on the flanks. Uh, let’s go see if we can find anything to kill. Ooh, horse artillery. Let’s quickly intercept that. If we can get to them before their light horses in or their draons can get there, we can kill the horse artillery real relatively quickly. I like how those draons or the light horse open fire and shot like 20 of my lancers. Oh well, I got the artillery unit. I think they have one more horse artillery on the flanks there. I might be able to swing around the other flank and take it out. Yeah, like half the lancers were taken out and 20 of those were shot by my own light horses cuz they shoot them in the back. All right, enemy is closing. Time to switch to canister shot. We’ll have to make quality work for us here cuz quantity isn’t going to do it. Oh god, I’m going to lose the cavalry. I I just squander my cavalry every time. The draons are getting beaten to a pulp. That’s good. And this is all armed citizenry. We should have this one in the bag. Run, run, you bastards. These are not quite as high experienced troops as Napoleon’s force, but they should be able to hold. Come on. Canister shot to the face. Canister shot to the face. Oh, yes. Yes. I think we’ve broken them. Uh-oh. They just routed some of my units. Jesus Christ. 13 boys left in that regiment. Ow. I think we got them. My My plan to minimize casualties might not exactly have turned out the way I wanted it to, but we won. I’ll take the heroic victory. Not great. I don’t think any unit was actually wiped out. Do I want to liberate it? I’d rather occupy it, honestly. Yeah, this army should replenish relatively quickly. And I could still move it up to take further possession of like handover or threaten Hessa Castle. Why are so many people unfriendly to us? Territorial expansion. I would I would never do anything to you guys. Ah, this is not good. Let’s actually Let’s see if I can win this. I have the numbers, but I certainly don’t have troop quality. Yeah, I I genuinely see no way in which we can win this. But I can make it costly for them. Well, game crashed. They had to restart. Decided just auto resolve it with the uh results being not great. So, we’ve lost Prague. Just swing Napoleon in. He’ll retake it next turn. Right now, Napoleon’s going to swing in. Retake Prague. And uh bada bing bada boom. Well, at the risk of losing hand over to this big old Prussian stack, uh, I’ve decided to just try and take out a Hessa real quick. Well, this is terrible terrain. Uh, everything’s a stupid hill. Let’s see what the artillery can do for us today. Well, they’ve decided to charge light cavalry into an infantry square. That will go very well for them. At least that’s uh one issue resolved then. All right, other forces are coming in here. Oh god, this is really not a good place to bring them in. There’s nothing here. And I’m miles and miles and miles away from my own lines. Not too happy about that. Well, on the bright side, we did take out two of their cavalry units. This is just wildly out of position. There’s no way I can get these to support each other. God, the deployment is so ass. Why? Why did I even think this was going to work? What I could do is try to swing my army towards like this side of the map along with this infantry that’s movement to this side of the map. Oh, great. Yeah, my general’s dead. And instead of having two armies, I decide to just group them all up. One big stack against one big stack. I think we’ll end up with better odds this way. I can deploy more of my forces. So, let’s give it a try. At least everything will be properly deployed now. And we have some nice high ground here. Just put the artillery dead center. They should have good lines of sight. I have a fairly strong artillery advantage, I believe. What if we just blow up all his horses as they come towards us? Run, run, run. I just wish the cavalry uh I just wish these guys would, you know, actually run when I order them to run the [ __ ] away instead of just standing there like half wits. Let’s just We We got the horses. We’ll shoot everything else now. It only cost me like 30 30 lasser. That cavalry is not having a good day. Oh god. Just look at them fly, boys. Look at those cavalry fly. Oh go you get a couple of defilade shots inoo or onfilade I don’t care but if you can get them from the side you can take out so many of their units. Okay it’s getting messy. It’s getting messy. Are we in canister shot range mostly. Start mowing with canister shot then. We are bleeding them heavily. No no no no. Ah they managed to get some support in. Oh doesn’t matter. He’s running. Bastard’s running. Bastard’s running. All right. Just secure my cavalry now. Just make sure they don’t shoot all my horses. Just pursue pursue the general. I don’t care about the rest. Absolutely horrifying casualties, but we’ll win. I think they just Yeah, an artillery piece just wiped out my entire unit of lancers. And I think my general just ran into a minefield. God. But we won, but at what cost. Hey, a heroic victory. I’ll take it. Damn, son. That’s like more than 30% casualties. Do I want to make it a puppet? No, I’m just going to occupy. Puppets do weird things. Like protectors are nice, but then somebody entirely unrelated, like I don’t know, Spain, who is normally your ally, will suddenly declare war on that protectorate for no valid reason, and you end up getting [ __ ] It does look like the Austrians got big mad, and we have Austrian revolutionaries. Now, I got an army nearby, so we’ll just quickly mop them up, I guess. Well, cost me nearly every soldier in the army, but we did manage to put the rebellion down. Uh, unfortunately, the game really doesn’t like it when I alt tab to check the recording. So, yeah, that recording’s gone, but you can tell losses were high. And thank [ __ ] the Austrians were willing to sign a peace treaty after that. I wonder how long it’s going to last. Probably not particularly long. just get them off my back for a minute. So, I can I can breathe. I could probably take Saxony. I’ve got it infiltrated and the troops there aren’t that great. I can probably take Saxony even with my beat up army. Handover has been besieged by the main Prussian stack and then some. That’s not a great place to be. This uh this arm is probably screwed. It It took inordinate amounts of damage. I probably should have gotten them out of there. I have a reserve army here that’s currently not really ready yet. But if I can get him over there in time before they launch the assault, you know, maybe it’s going to take like three turns to get there. Might as well go over there. Mura, we’re just going to give this a go. An assault on Saxony. I have the artillery advantage. My troops are the better quality units as well. Plus, Napoleon’s in this in this stack. Napoleon counts for a lot. Let’s just see if I can bait them into being stupid. Oh, that cavalry is uh done for. Our cavalry got behind us. That’s not good. I need an about face here. Oh, yes. The artillery is shredding the closerange assaults. And we’re holding off the armed citizenry fairly well. If I can just get them the route before I actually have to fight in a standup battle, that’d be great. And I think we took like minimal casualties. Got Saxony. I’ll take it. The artillery is disgustingly good. Very well. Mura got close enough eventually in defense. They have decided to launch an assault on my besieged city. Numbers are not favorable, but maybe I’m going to be horribly outnumbered. I I don’t really have a solid fallback position. I have no idea what they’re doing, but they’re running troops along my flank, getting shot the whole way. Uh they’ve already lost several regiments not doing anything of note. So I am confusion and the artillery is just taking their cavalry apart at a distance which is great. And another stupid charge. Well charge of the light brigade. Capture those guns. Am I right? What are they doing? They’re just marching men into my guns. Oh, there goes Bler. Now this might be a big one. I’ve got Napoleon stack and the troops that have just won that glorious siege of Hanover. I I I don’t want to lose like literally half the army. Oh, this is a very awkward deployment. Let’s see what side are we going to march in from. Oh no. Oh, that’s bad. I That’s not where I want to bring reinforcements in from. They’re all on the wrong side of the goddamn map and it’s a solo general. He’s like all on his own. Well, well, at least the cavalry has been repulsed. And I once again in the charge shot more of my own horses than I shot enemy troops. I really get got to get rid of these like sheral. Every time they shoot, they just kill more of my own troops than they do anything else. And I’ve been an idiot once again. I’ve charged. Oh no, I’ve got lucky. I’ve charged in between these spikes and enemy light hazards have run right into them. The enemies light hazards charge right into their own defenses. My guys, for the most part, ran between this gap here. Yes, I unintentionally did something right. All right, the enemy general has been killed. Good. All right, I think the cavalry is mopping up the enemy cavic. I If I can just get rid of the last couple of cavalry units he has, I’ll be able to take out his artillery as well with a little bit of luck. Maybe a lot of luck. Just get rid of this cavalry. Oh, they got more cavalry. Never mind. Never mind. This was a mistake. Davu has fallen in a heroic death. Yeah. Well, I do have is an artillery advantage and I’m going to take them apart wherever I can. Just tie him down for as long as you can. Yeah, the cavalry is done for. I’ll have to rebuild the cavalry core from nothing. And now we just canister shot these guys in the face. Like this is this is this about as point blank as it’s going to get. So shoot shoot them. There is something about that canister shot that just uh Yes. Yes. That does it for me. That most certainly does it for me. Oh, this is going to suck for them. And I’ll just maintain bombardment. We got fresh units coming in. Unfortunately, it looks like they’re artillery. Uh, not ideal. God, they just keep walking into the gunline of canister shot. The piles and piles of dead here. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say we’re winning. God, we’re winning. We are doing so much winning. And I believe that is it. Victory. But at what cost? Better or worse, they auto resolve. I think it’s worse. I think it was worse. Oh well, still a victory. I’ll take it. I have lost Lu Nicolad Davu, one of my finest marshals. Damn. Now the army is in the hands of Mura. Oh, it’s Bernadot. After a blitz in northern Germany, I’ I’d say we’re doing well. We hold three of the five required victory regions. So, on to East Prussia and Moscow and 25 out of 35 just regions overall. If we get a grand ar going and we can roll all the way over to Moscow, we can do this. I think we can do this. Next step is going to be like Danzig, Warsaw, Kerningsburg. That should see Prussia wiped out. Probably need to stamp out Meccllenburgg here as well. Don’t don’t trust these guys. And with that second battle, we’ll put down the Brandenburgg uprising as well. Cost me a lot of troops. This army um really chewed up. Really really chewed up for uh Yeah, I lost the full stack there. Fortunately, this is like super fast replenishment. These guys will replenish really quickly. Yeah, the people of Brandenburg not not too happy here. We’re going to need to dump a whole lot of these um militia units into Brandenburgg to offset that. At the same time, uh, unfortunately, the Ottomans declared war on Hungary, meaning I had to come in to defend Hungary. Well, I didn’t have to. I could just ignore it, but yeah, Ottomans are not that big of a deal. Yeah, as I expected, this first hustle with the Ottomans is just going to be nothing. They have artillery, 18 pounders. I can auto resolve this for basically no cost. We’ll keep marching south, take Belgrade, maybe release Serbia if I can as a puppet nation. I I don’t want anything in the south anyway. Yeah. So, Ottoman forces basically non-existent. That was easy. I’ll just occupy Belgrade then. Yeah, we’ll take it uh to what is this? Meckllinburgg. Uh they’ve intercepted me. But we have a distinct advantage. It’s it’s almost all horses. They will trickle in and run right into our guns, gentlemen. Those guns have done magnificent things for us, haven’t they? And if I win this battle and take the city, I’ll have most of Northern Europe secured. So, I just got up. Oh, the terrain is not with me this day. It is not. Oh dear, these hills are terrible. The hills are alive. Or rather not alive with the sound of artillery fire. Let’s see if I can take this hill. If I can seize this ridge here, I have advantage or rather a vantage point to shoot at the enemy from. Oh, they have some jaggers hidden. Best intercept. Uh-oh. Enemy general has actually uh ran into my flank. Now for the actual problem. They’re going to bring in artillery. Sorry, not artillery, cavalry. One unit at a time. So now I have to get my horses the hell out of that initial contact. Yes, my general is under attack. I don’t want to lose my general at this point. I shot the enemy general though. That’s good. Well, so far so good. Nice amount of damage. And now the other units are going to start trickling in, but it’s so much cavalry. They’re not going to come at me as a a single cohesive force. I think I think they’re going to just charge at me. These are four mutually supporting squares. Why would you charge light cavalry into that? Oh, that’s another charge at the light brigade. Yeah. And I think that’s their cavalry firmly chastised. And now they’re they’re going to have infantry walking in. Ooh, that is enemy artillery. Horse artillery. I need to get myself some horse artillery. All right, let’s get them out of there. Enemy infantry is getting decimated. Yes. Interlocking fields of fire. Mutually supporting units. This is the way. Got to keep moving. Always have to keep the army moving. Repositioning. Relocating. Keep moving the line. Keep adjusting the front. All right. Charge. Drive off the infantry on that flank. Outkilled boys. Outkilled. And it’s done. Victory over the forces of Meckllinburgg. Minimal casualties. Close victory. I’ll take it. I’ll take it. I don’t think I took that many c Oh, well 600. It’s not that much. This unit took a hit. This unit took a hit. And then Yeah, that the horses took a hit. Okay. Okay. Still, we’ll just quickly autoresolve this and we’ll have our victory. Let’s just uh I don’t know. Maybe we should liberate this so I don’t have to occupy everything in the region. It’s kind of annoying when they make me occupy everything there. Liberation. Liberation will do. After a small bit of dealing with teenytiny armies the Austrians, sorry, the Prussians had in the region. I did manage to bait Blur into going across that bridge. Uh he I don’t know what he did, but he used to be in a city. Now he’s not. Maybe I can. No. Well, guess wasted my movement there. Ah crap. Oh, wait. No, no. Haha. I can still do this. Haha. Liberation of Warsaw. I’ll liberate this to Poland. Warsaw who can be my protectorate. And I’ll just group back up. A new nation arises. Poland. All right. Congratulations Poland. This is going to be the last gasp of Prussia. I think they have Danzig and Kunigbag. They’re trying to intercept Napoleon on his way to Danzig with what looks like, yeah, pretty much the remainder of their force. So, let’s uh fight it out and see who gets to win. Not bad casualties as usual, but uh the artillery is just wild. And with that, we will take Gdansk or Gdanzig or just ought to resolve it. Take the Wow, still 113 casualties. Oh well. Take the city peaceful occupation and the army can replenish while we recruit some militia to uh stay behind. Next step, Kingsburg. Yes, with that we will actually crush the Prussians. That will be it. And then unfortunately I was marching on Bucharest, but the Austrians have taken that off the Ottomans. I guess that’s what you get for picking a fight with me, Ottoman. That’s what you get for picking a fight with me. You stupid idiot. Last stand of the Ottomans. That’s on them for going against me, I guess. Mehmet, you you didn’t have to do this. And I’m honestly a little insulted that all you can muster is truly garbage artillery, a handful of janiseries, and peasants. Well, I’m not even going to dignify this with a field battle. Auto resolve it is. Goodbye. There goes the Ottoman Empire. You know what? I’ll I’ll make them my puppet. Liberate the Ottoman Empire in Istanbul. Ah, looking at the objectives here, we’ve hit the victory requirements for just total regions. All we have to do is uh truck to Moscow and we have our win in 1806 and we’re in the home stretch. I’ve basically conquered my way through this northern bit of Russia and the Baltics with no Russian army in sight. I have a small stack here, a slightly bigger stack here, but they have no credible threats to me left. That’s just auto resolve. Ooh, I lost a lot more men than I thought I would. Oh well, I’ll recover. But Napoleon himself in this army should have a clean shot at Moscow. We will storm the city. Oh god. Guess we won’t be storming the city then. At least not this turn. There are probably going to be a lot of troops there. In which case I need this army to take out that army so they don’t, you know, bite me in the ass. Let’s quick save that so I don’t accidentally lose this. There you go. It would be a bit embarrassing to lose that. So, let’s just set us up for the siege of Moscow. Or Moscow attacks me. That That also works. That’s fine. That’s quite a name. Fodor Fodorovich B Hoden against Napoleon Bonapart. Oh, this train is ass. Could I get a good hill, please? All right, this is a workable hill. I love artillery. I love artillery. So, I just put up on the hill here. Oh, it does look like they’re basically going to try and rush me. Well, in that case, let’s turn on the canister shop and blow them all the smitherines. This is This is trash. They’re trying to charge at my artillery positions with trash. If they make it, it’s bad for my artillery, but it’s it’s it’s remarkably unlikely that they’ll do Oh. Oh, maybe. Maybe. Oh, that might actually be a problem. Get on those guns. Get on those guns. Oh, dear God. I did not expect them to actually silence my guns. Oops. All right, get back on that artillery. Resume firing long range. Take out that damn cavalry. Now you may resume artillery duties. Very well done. Now withdraw. Withdraw back behind the guns. Withdraw behind the guns. Excellent. Well, this has not gone according to the Russian plan, I’d assume. Uh unless the Russian plan was really, really bad. Ah, it was a little touch and go when they got to my artillery, but I think overall we’ve left them in shambles and the battle heroic victory. Let’s see what the numbers are. They’re definitely not good for the Russians. Uh, thanks for giving me Moscow, I guess. I see Sweden walking up uh to the strait that we have near St. Petersburg. I I did capture St. Petersburg, but they will arrive too late. Go here and chase them out of my harbor. Please, Mira, do something. And we have also built our Ard triumph. Take out Moscow again. I will not even give you the dignified death of a field battle. Odd resolve. Supreme victory once more. Napoleon stands in triumph with Europe under his boot. With that ends the march on Moscow. What lies in store for mighty Napoleon Bonaparta? No more.
