Kingdom Hearts 3 Cancelled DLC World #kingdomhearts
An entire world was cut for the Kingdom Hearts 3 Remin DLC. Namura mentioned at the beginning of 2020, shortly before the DLC’s release, we did start designing and planning a new world, but the reasoning why just this world would be added in after being separate didn’t sit well with me. In the end, I decided that it would be better to work it in properly from the start next time there’s a chance. All the new content added in with Remind put together makes more than one world’s worth of content. In particular, it was a lot of worlds making this many bosses. Personally, I think the Remind DLC is a fantastic and much needed addition to the base experience of Kingdom Hearts 3, especially if we’re looking in the secret boss and tougher challenges department, as that was clearly lacking for the vanilla version. Not only did we get 14 new boss fights, including the hardest challenge so far in the Kingdom Hearts series, but we also got to play as Roxus again along with Kyrie for the very first time. I will say though that the rem scenario was a bit disappointing because of the whole time travel shenanigans. We’re having to go back through all of the same story and boss fight events yet again. Sure, we got a brand new area in Scarlet and Kylum to explore, but I think most of us were hoping that Scala would be a full-blown proper world as it was simply just used as the Xanort boss fight arena at the end of the base game. Don’t get me wrong, the King Mickey moment was pure serotonin along with also all of the Guardians of Light collectively fighting together for the very first time. They also brought back reaction commands for this one too. But I did feel as if the bulk of the rem scenario was a bit lacking. I think the new world that was originally planned for the DLC though is actually quadrat being a part of the secret episode likely going to be along the same lines as Birth by Sleep episode where we got to explore a bit of the realm of darkness. then ending with a boss fight. Maybe it was planned that we were able to explore a bit of Quadratum to end it off with the Azora fight. Of course, Neim decided to cut this as he wants to be able to properly integrate this world for a future game, which is no doubt Kingdom Hearts
