DLC We NEED To See In Marvel’s Wolverine PS5

Insomniac decided to cancel their story DLC for
Spider-Man 2 — but with Wolverine, they might not have a choice. What it do Durag Nation? A
question that Insomniac is going to be asked a lot now that Marvel’s Wolverine has a release window
is about DLC. Insomniac has released post-launch content for all of their Marvel games so far, and
fans expect Wolverine to follow the same trend. But what exactly that post-launch content
will be is what I want to break down today, partly because there is one crucial mistake
Insomniac made with Spider-Man 2 that I don’t want them to repeat with Wolverine, and no
that mistake has nothing to do with the weird obsession some people have with two side missions.
Not only do I think Wolverine has DLC planned, I think Marvel is pushing for Insomniac to go beyond
even that. Regardless of what they’re doing with the post-launch content, I think Insomniac needs
to avoid their biggest mistake with Spider-Man 2, which was communication. No rational person
blames Insomniac for the cyber attack or for not being allowed to delay the game by Sony.
Even deciding not to release the story DLC was okay. I know the cyber attack forced them to
change their priorities, and after seeing the gameplay trailer, it’s clear that finishing
Wolverine was a better decision than adding Beetle to Spider-Man 2. They can and probably
have just moved Beetle and Carnage to Spider-Man 3 or the upcoming Venom Game. So no issue there.
The problem though was how it was communicated. Insomniac had plenty of opportunities both before
and after the cyber attack to tell players what was happening with the post-launch content,
specifically story DLC. We obviously know they were planning to release story content, similar
to The City That Never Sleeps, but with Spider-Man PS4, we knew that before launch because it
was bundled with the collector’s edition. With Spider-Man 2, Insomniac avoided the question
for a year, then snuck in the cancellation news with the surprise announcement of the PC port,
which got backlash even from their biggest fans. They could have made their lives much easier by
just following what the God of War Ragnarok team did and just straight up tell people not to
expect any DLC. Then just surprise them later if they have any. This should be the strategy
for Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac confirmed they’ll be sharing more information on
Wolverine during the spring of 2026. This means it will either be a PlayStation
Showcase or a dedicated State of Play that will show more gameplay, and you’ll likely be
able to pre-order or wishlist the game at this point. They should get out ahead of things and
just say whether or not they’re planning DLC during this event. Don’t let it drag out. As I
mentioned though, I do think there will be DLC and I think it’s connected to the reason the
studio chose Wolverine for their next game. It’s no secret that Marvel has been using video
games as one of the ways they set up or promote future movies and shows for the MCU. And they
have been laser-focused on the X-Men. It just took snatching up 20th Century Fox to get
everything right, and now Kevin Feige has confirmed X-Men will be what the MCU is
built around after Secret Wars is over. Having Insomniac increase the hype
for X-Men by introducing the mutants into their already popular Marvel gaming
universe is no doubt something they’ve been having talks with both Sony and Insomniac
about. I think Insomniac will use part of the post-launch Wolverine content, as well
as the main game itself, to bring in X-Men. We were already introduced to Mystique
as an ally for Wolverine in the trailer, and I’m expecting many more X-Men characters
to show up as well over the course of the game. I think Insomniac is ultimately planning an
X-Men game that will launch after Spider-Man 3. It might even be the unannounced multiplayer
project they’re hiring for, and I believe the story and at least some of the post-launch
content will be used to set all this up. But I do hope at least one of the DLCs
has a fight with Hulk. Funny enough, there was also a rumor from insiders that Marvel
is in fact planning on making a live-action Hulk vs. Wolverine film. The first fight between Logan
and Hulk from the comics was also referenced in the first trailer of the Wolverine game.
Like Feige says, it’s all connected. In addition to story DLC, one of the things I’m
definitely expecting them to add post-launch is new suits. Insomniac has never let us down so
far when it comes to including awesome costumes, and they’ve already teased some
fire suits for Marvel’s Wolverine. Click the video on screen to learn

How Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 Is Setting Up The Next Big Marvel Game

What it do Durag Naiton? Insomniac finally gave us a new look at Marvel’s Wolverine—and now the big question is DLC. In this video I explain what happened with the Spider-Man 2 DLC, why communication became the issue (not the content), why Marvel wants this more than the fans, and what that means for Wolverine PS5 moving forward. I recap the Marvel’s Wolverine trailer, break down the confirmed locations and enemies, and analyze the wolverine gameplay slice we just saw—then map out realistic post-launch plans: potential wolverine dlc story drops, suit packs, and free updates timed around the next Showcase.

We’ll talk about how marvel’s wolverine gameplay could evolve after launch, which Marvel’s Wolverine suits are most likely (classic yellow, Patch, brown & tan, Weapon X, and movie inspirations), and how DLC could tee up the X-Men and even a crossover with Hulk and more in the MCU. I also touch on where cut content for Spider-Man can live now—think Beetle/Carnage moving to the Venom project—so Insomniac doesn’t repeat the Spider-Man 2 rollout. If you’re hyped for Wolverine, want clarity on marvel’s wolverine dlc, or just love dissecting every frame of the new trailer, this is your clean, no-fluff guide
