Just uh two races to go until the mid-season break. Tonight we visit the Hungaro Ring for the Hungarian Grand Prix. [Music] So, tonight is going to be an interesting Grand Prix. Again, this is a a circuit where tires usually do not fare particularly well, and who knows how the tires are going to perform tonight. Uh, it’s usually quite a warm circuit, so keeping heat in the tires might be less of an issue, but making them go the distance could be a bit of a problem. I think we could be staring down the barrel of a four stop today. Um or at least I think some teams are absolutely going to be four stopping. I don’t know if we can make a three stop work. I certainly don’t think we’ve got enough to make a two stop work. And our car is just not good at all. So I really don’t know what to expect performance-wise. I mean it can’t be much worse in terms of results than yesterday. Uh we had a double retirement in Spa which did not do us any favors whatsoever. Uh we damaged quite a few aero parts, suffered a little bit of damage to our engines but thankfully nothing too serious uh cuz we are very very skinned and uh we are very very short on engines. So, uh, Carl engines held together with goodwill and duct tape pretty much, Dino. Yeah, pretty much. We’re, uh, we are hanging on at the moment until we can invest in a new powertrain for both cars. How you doing, Dino? How you doing, Mike? Good to see you. Hello to everyone else who’s lurking in the chat. Uh, let’s get ourselves uh, straight into uh, the situation, shall we? Again, I’m going to go 20th. I just I’d love to go higher than that, but I just don’t think we’ll have the performance around here. Welcome to the beautiful Three Springs Valley here in Hungary. Halfway through the season, it’s too early to call the championship. Can teams make good before the summer break, or will they be hoping for a reset? In the constructor’s title battle, it’s Mercedes who are currently leading, but there are still plenty of points up for grabs this season. Let’s see what the weekend has in store. [Music] Well, Mercedes are running a junior. That much I can tell you. Um, I don’t know if I can get away with running a junior. I think we’re going to have to hang on to our mediums and hards as much as we can here and just fork over the softs. So, [Music] do I put the rookies in? No. I want to try and minimize how much time we spend on track given that we are running very very worn power trains now. So we’ll do this. Will that go? We’ll try it and hope that it holds together. Might not at this circuit. It’s not a particularly kind circuit in terms of temperature or bumps. Uh it’s normally cuz it’s a short lap. It’s normally I think 20 laps around here. So, we are going to go [Music] tires won’t go that long. Let’s try and get the tires to go 25 laps. I really doubt they will. We’re going to go with softs. Uh, let’s change that. Going to have to get them to look after the fuel to keep the engine temps down. Uh, really, really, really bad engine situation for Czecho. It’s the only ERS that we have. And at least we can use a slightly more worn gearbox. It’s surprised I didn’t put 121st. How you uh not sure what you mean there, Dino? Right. It’s a high downforce circuit. And I’m going to go really high downforce to start. We’re going to go with a 10 and a 15. We’ll go with a 15 on the other car. Let’s go with a 37. It’s usually quite low on the camber and the toe. Let’s drop that down to there. And let’s drop that down to there. And I can see straight away that’s not going to work. So, we’ll have to look at a 15. Uh, [Music] I think I think just to compensate for that, I will just tweak the front wing slightly, but I’ll leave everything else as it was. Oh, you mean for the sponsor goal? Yeah, it’s when you get to 21st, it’s so little money that it’s, you know, it’s it’s hardly worth it. So, at least, you know, if we can get both cars in the top 20, that’ll be something. I just we could possibly get one in the top 18, but I wouldn’t like to bet which one. So, two in the top 20 is safer. So, let’s go with a nine on this one. Will the 15 five go? It’s a little tight. Williams running their main drivers as well as are Har. Uh same for racing boards. Tim Tramets getting a run out instead of Hulenberg and Aldi. Cash Bashuka getting a run out instead of Cenoda. He’s only 73%. Ooh, lot of work needed. Keep them out another few laps just to try and get a little bit more track time. But we are very close to bringing them both in. Damn it. I’ve called him in a lap earlier than I wanted to just simply because I’m worried that that gearbox We’ll go on the second run here. All right, we’re off here. Let’s go to a 28. Let’s do that to bring that back rather than changing the front wing cuz the rear wing set as well. Uh that gives us small gaps in the bigish gap or the right size gap. So we’ll try that. And there’s no way we’ll do 25 laps. I let go for 19 laps of fuel. So, we’ll have to uh keep fuel saving to stretch the stint a little bit. And box this box confirmed. Okay. Copy. Here [Music] comes Czecho. meter on and meter on and stop on the marks. So, a little bit of news as far as George Russell goes. He has now officially signed his contract for his contract extension at Mercedes. It’s been very interestingly worded. It is a multi-year deal, but uh it appears there are get out clauses from what I understand at both on both sides for the end of next season. So uh that would give George the opportunity to to leave. I would also give Mercedes the opportunity to remove him and replace him if a certain Mr. Bstappen becomes available. Thing is though, I mean, if Max decides he wants out, that’s going to be because Red Bull aren’t performing. So if uh if George decides to leave and uh they try and sign for staff to replace George, George is going to leave if Mercedes aren’t performing. So that becomes quite an interesting situation. I don’t know what to do here. I’m kind of at odds on this one. Let’s leave that as a 37. Let’s try pushing the camber up. And let’s try pushing the toe all the way up. It’s normally low, but if it’s a 14 1/2 wing, which I think it might be, well, I say it’s a 14 and 1/2 or a 15 and 1/2, we might need to increase the camber to compensate for that. I don’t know. I’m just kind of pissing in the wind on this one. Evening, Farah. I’m very curious as to what next season’s going to be like with the new Arrow, but I’m also a little worried. There’s a there’s a chance that we could see cars swapping position multiple times on each lap. And it’s going to feel so artificial. If that’s the case, it’s not going to feel like real racing. Hamilton coming past very shortly. Reminder for brake temperature. All good. So, I’m I’m interested, but I’m also cautiously concerned as well as to just what that’s actually going to look like. How are these guys? It is what October at the moment. So keep the temperature on tires [Music] about 5 months until the start of the new season. four to five months in that window. Not entirely sure exactly what date the new season starts. It’s traditionally end of February, beginning of March. [Music] [Music] All right, got some feedback from Vouchery. Yes, 94. So, we we’ve gained a little bit. We gained 4%. Czecho is the big one. We made wholesale changes to his setup and we only found what a little bit developed. What was he on? 70 something. 72. We did not find much. So, we’ve massively overcorrected in some areas. Wonder if I went the wrong way. I must have gone the wrong way on the rear wing. [Music] And we’re heading to Bracken Reach. That’s the uh the new World of Trucks event, isn’t it? I saw a an article headline in my newsfeed about that earlier this morning. What about tires? His tires. Yeah, I think I will at some point. [Music] I’m going to try and make a concerted effort to sit down at some point this weekend and do some recording again. [Music] Tire face update when you can only. So braking stability is wrong. Everything else is spot on. So that has to be up here, which means we have to bring that back. But now I’m breaking that. So, [Music] not sure if I can get away with that. I’ll try. We’ll save the hard tires and then we’ll do a set of mediums uh in uh FP3 for a longer single run hopefully to finish our setups off and get that track time and get an idea of how long the tires will last as well. Got to keep using it though. really if I can just stretch a little bit more life out of uh the leftovers that we’ve got with our tree. So, I’ve seen quite a few cars using hard tires over the practice weekend so far. That means they will only have one set and limit the Grand Prix. We’re going to have two because we’re not using our hards. We’re saving them. We’re going to have two sets of mediums, two sets of hards, and then however many softs we have left after qualifying, which probably won’t be any because we’re going to have only two sets going into quali. Well, we might have a set. That’s uh that’s usable on race day. Yeah, it’s the front wing. I’m going to have to just creep that up. Bring that back. Move that back. Hope that that’s going to fix everything. Which way? Which way? Let’s go. Let’s go that way. 50/50 choice at this point. Either I’ve got it right or I’ve uh horribly horribly messed it up. Well, it’s not that extreme. I’ve got it right or I’ve got it wrong. So, we’re either going to gain a percentage point and get to 100 or lose one and go to 98. [Music] [Applause] Once again, the Ferrari is not looking amazingly quick. It is still practice, but are they just running old parts or are they starting to fall behind in development? I think it’s more likely old parts. Oh [ __ ] that gearbox is gone. Can I get him in before it completely fails? Yes. It’s terminal, so can’t uh send it back out, but if it goes, it damages the engine a bit more as well. So, it had to call him in before it exploded. Not close to full feedback from Czecho yet. [Music] Tire face update when you can. I’m losing a bit. And they’re down to 14%. Come on. Give me that last little bit of feedback before they go completely. Thank you. And we got it right. Excellent. [Music] He’s almost certainly going to puncture on the way back to the uh garage. Pen box speed confirmed. Okay, copy. So much heavy curb use around this circuit as well. I’m amazed that they haven’t popped anywhere so far on this lap. Could we actually make it back to the pits before they do go bang? Nope, we can’t. Of course not. The second I I speculate, actually give voice to that speculation, they immediately explode. But we got a lot further around the lap than I was expecting. [Music] speed limit on please and stop on the marks. [Music] So, not the most ideal second session. We’ve almost nailed the setup for Valtry, but we have killed the gearbox. Luckily, we managed to get him in before it killed anything else. We have got Czecho sorted. [Music] Now, we need to send them out on mediums in the next session. Might [Music] not need to fuel save. now that we’re taking that gearbox out. [Music] I have to go with that one. It’s got major damage. I mean, theoretically, I could try running it, but I’m not going to. We’re going to stick with the 40 center. Medium tires for Czecho. And he only needs to run for a little bit. He’s at 97%. So, just leave him out for the 15 laps or so cuz that is his one and only engine. 5 4 3 2 1 Green light. [Music] And there we go. We have nailed Valtry setup. Excellent. So, he just needs time on track now. Temps are still a little high for both, but they’re manageable now. It’s keeping the tires at the right temperature. [ __ ] I forgot I needed to refuel him. It’s hit the 100 anyway, so that’s good. So, we’re going to need around 78 79% track knowledge out of Valkyrie to get him up to 100 as well. Time is down to 34%. We’ve only done 19 laps, 18 laps. It’s not a lot. Even the medium tires aren’t that durable. I think we are three stopping with two sets of mediums and two sets of hearts in this race potentially. Kind of shudder to think how many uh What about tires? Sh to think how many pit stops some of the teams are going to have to make that have already used their hard tires like Hulenber confirming you are boxing this lap. Yeah, copy. There we go. Both drivers done. We got the car part knowledge up nicely. Make sure your limiter is on. Okay, stop on the marks. [Music] And in is Valkyrie. There we go. Confirmation of the setup. And now we can just run out the clock. [Music] Couple more cars going out on the hearts as well. [Music] Ironically, the uh high tire wear could be quite beneficial for us. You know, if the rest of the grid suffers with that as well, especially if it’s going to push, the tires aren’t going to overheat through um uh or degrade through temperature windows, I don’t think. if they’re running in dirty air or they’re pushing too hard. I think if if I remember rightly reading the uh description. In fact, let’s um let me have a quick look. We find the tire mod performance overhaul. So, uh let’s have a look at the major updates. Uh, do do AI will be able to drive as aggressively as it wants, staying in the optimal temperature window, it’ll choose its tires based on the compounds it has available. Um, so yeah, it says now only hard race difficulty should be chose chosen regardless of track or weather factors. This difficulty allows the AI to go as fast as it wants, but doesn’t allow it to overheat tires. It doesn’t mean that the AI will always drive in attack mode. It will still adjust its pace accordingly to the different factors. observing the AI’s behavior and lap times. I assume that it chooses it follows the following logic. Uh tires based on compounds that it has for the race that have the lowest expected race time. Based on the strategy, it sets the optimal pace mode for each stint. So, even the hard AI can sometime um can sometimes go with conservative pace. And if the tire wear is lower than expected or if there is a very tight battle with the other driver within that 1 second gap, it can still go more aggressively and even overheat tires to wear them faster. So, while they won’t melt their tires by uh pushing, it will still wear them out, which is what we’ve been seeing. Right, practice is done. [Music] Both of our drivers are going in with as much confidence as is possible. Uh Valtry having those issues with Mark at the moment, which is why he’s not in very high. Now remember, only the fastest 10 will make it through to Q3 for a shot at pole position. And here’s a driver there’s been quite a focus on recently. Karun Very Bosas. Well, Cofty, here is a driver who’s just oozing confidence right now. We can see the impact it’s having, and I’m sure that’ll carry through to qualifying. And you’re right. Well, it’s nearly time for qualifying. [Music] Okay, time to put the best bits in the car. They are running the new side pod. Yes, they are. Good. Uh, just want to check I am running the best bits available. [Music] These are now ready to start being built. We don’t have any yet, nor do we have the money to actually build them, which is a little frustrating. Although, we got sponsor money coming after this. We uh this Grand Prix, we might well have to mod some more back in because I think we’re still being affected by the fact that we didn’t do anything with the sponsors last month. Um it massively reduced our engagement level. So, uh, yeah, we may have to mod in a little bit more just to bring us back up to the 46 mil again. And then that’ll be the last time I do that. Unless it just randomly crashes on us again. That’s what happened last time. That’s what caused that bug is because the game crashed [Music] and then when we reloaded the save, it just auto skipped past our ability to choose any activities for the sponsors. Oh my god, we’re at 39% on the ERS. Ah, that’s going to have to go uh in a new one’s going to have to go into the car for Zambort. That’s not good. That’s not good. Let’s get plenty of brake temperature if you can. Lapping a fair bit quicker as well. Again, very bad first sector for Hamilton. Middle sector slightly better than Antonelli. So, Castri is in third. He’s going to be absolutely steaming about being blue flagged the way he was. [Music] I do sometimes wish there was a button that we could toggle that would allow us to manually tell drivers to move over for blue flags [Music] rather than the letting the AI handle it and that there would be a risk of a penalty. Or if you could choose the AI to just, you know, randomly choose to ignore blue flags and maybe get a penalty for ignoring them. Just something so that it wasn’t always pulling over in really weird awkward spots. All right. What’s the track looking like? Much quicker. Not quick enough. just yet, but we’re very close to going out. Is currently looking like he might get through. [Music] Perez is not [Music] [Music] should be safe with that time, [Music] but I would not be at all surprised to see Hamilton and Antonyelli eliminated in this session if their cars are as messed up as I think they might George is 3 seconds a lap quicker than that. I mean, you got to count the usual suspects. So, you’ve got to count uh McLaren, you got to count Max. I don’t think Ferrari will do particularly well. Uh I wouldn’t be surprised if Hamilton does a little better than he’s usually very good at this circuit. Can’t count out George. Um beyond that maybe uh maybe Racing Balls will have a decent run, get some decent points. Big lock up for a Williams. Speaking of Williams, I was just about to say maybe Williams will do well and they immediately go screeching off for traffic. It will be charge button off for last corner. And that is an aborted lap for Alex. Track should be clear. Good to go. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Potential traffic here for Valtry. That’s a good first sector for Lewis. [Music] Middle sector’s a lot better. Maybe just didn’t get a good run in the first on his first stint, but it’s looking quicker now. [Music] It’s going to be all about the middle and final sectors though. Russell goes purple in the middle. Hamilton’s got himself up to 12th. So, it’s not as terminally bad as I thought it would be for that car. Not a good first sector of Valkyrie. Paris is on a decent run. [Music] [Applause] might have been held up in the middle sector. He’s at the end of the middle sector. Sorry. So maybe slightly compromised in the final sector because of the SA. [Applause] He improves up to 17th. Doesn’t look like Valtry is going to improve at all here. [Music] Even Victor. Yeah. No improvement for Valtry at all. And we got a yellow flag. That’s a McLaren. Oh no, Czecho. Now this was at turn one. Czecho locking up just a weird smear for getting to render in for a second there. What a great drive for Valtry. Bman in 13th, Colinto in 14th, Llair down in 15th with major issues with the car at the end thanks to that uh little spin into the barriers with just a few laps to go. Czecho finished 16th, 17th was Arvid Limblad, 18th for Lawson, 19th for Okon, 20th for Antelli nursing some big issues with his car, 21st for Hulenberg, and 22nd for Boralto. The last four drivers were lapped twice. Uh, everybody up to and including Valtry was lapped once. So, just 11 cars on the lead lap in the end. Let’s take a look at the driver standings. George stays top and stretches his lead over Max, who’s now up into second place. The gap 31 points. Llair down into third now, six points behind Vstappen. And Norris is now just four points behind him uh after his third place podium today. That puts them 80 puts them 47 points behind Mercedes. And McLaren in third got a huge chunk of points themselves with their double podium. 33 points this weekend puts them on 251. and they’re just 23 points now behind Ferrari. Red Bull on 198. Williams have 174 in fifth. Then it’s Aston. Good weekend for them. 22 points earned. They are in sixth place now with 135 points. Another couple of points for Alpine. They’re on 55. Uh, fastest stop of the day goes to Norris, just ahead of the two Red Bulls who had very, very good stops. Uh racing balls get a good stop as well with uh Liam Lawson in fourth. Mercedes get fifth and ninth. Ferrari make the top six withlair. Then it’s Aston uh from the second McLaren. Uh then Mercedes and Audi to round out. So the leaderboard now looks like this. 281 points for McLaren. They have looked very strong. Good weekend for Red Bull though. They’ve actually closed the gap for the first time in a little while. It’s 281 versus 222. So that is a 59 point gap. Ferrari in third on 173. And then it’s starting to close up a little bit behind them. Racing bulls take four points out of them as did Mercedes. Uh it’s 173 to 166. Just seven points between those two. Mercedes a further 27 points back in fifth place. Alpine have 121. No points for them this weekend. So they lose a little bit of ground to Mercedes. Audi have 72. Aston have 62. We have 33 points in ninth. And it’s half with 24 and Williams with 20. And both drivers finished. Yay. It’s left us way short this time despite putting in the an absolute ton of uh of effort there. So, we’re going to need to add in an extra 3.8 million. So, uh, yeah, 3.8 mil to add in. Let’s do that. Now, we got our board assessment. Our target was ninth. We are currently eighth. Uh, we’ve scored points three times this season or in three races this season. Um, that isn’t really going to kick in until next year. Hopefully, we’ll be a bit more competitive and able to achieve that. The board have high confidence in this. That’s an extra 1 and 1/2 mil. That’s very, very nice. We have something purple to look at in our inbox. And we have broken parts. Right. Well, before we do anything else, let’s save over. Uh, that’s Spa there. That’s Hungary there. So, we want to save over this one. I keep a rolling save just in case we have a major gamebreaking glitch that we can roll back. There we go. I do have one spare left and we’ve got the money that we need to start making the brand new ones. There we go. They’re going to lose us at a little bit of speed, but they’re going to gain us a nice bit of downforce and improve our dirty air. Let’s get uh four of those built. We go. Uh cypods. We’ve got the two spares on the way. They’ll be done by the time we get back from our mid-season break before we go to Italy for a backto-back it uh Italy feature. Uh let’s get another upgrade in. Let’s see. See if we can get a rear wing done. We are 35 days away. Let’s get a Mark 3 rear wing started. What’s that worth? Nothing anywhere apart from DRS in terms of rankings anyway. But it’s worth a little bit of extra speed, a little tiny little bit of extra acceleration. 5 and a half% on DRS. So that’ll take us up to about 50%. And some small gains here and a little gain here. So might just throw a little bit extra airflow sensitivity on that. There we go. Let’s get that going. And let’s get I think we’re doing a front wing at the moment, aren’t we? Yes, we are. Uh let’s hang on to the rest. Let’s get a side pod uh research project started. We haven’t done one yet. And we definitely need to get something done for the side pods. There we go. Just under 2% gain. I’ll take that. There we go. And then when the chassis project is done, we can start designing a Mark III chassis. And when the front wing is done, we can start a Mark III front wing as well. We won’t get them both. Well, actually, no, we’ll have time. We’re 35 days away from the next ATR period. So, uh we can go straight into double upgrades there. And then when this project finishes, we’ll just keep that slot free uh for 4 days so that we can get our next ATR period and get our Oh, what’s going to be the rear wing? Which one have I already done? Was it rear wing or under wing? Under floor or suspension? That’s not what I want. That’s what I want. Which one did we do? Was it the under floor? It was. Okay. So, we need to do a suspension, a big suspension project. We’ve done a little one, but need a big one. And we still need to do a big rear wing as well. But I don’t want to lose time waiting for the rear wing to finish. So that’ll be the final ATR period will be our rear wing. The next one will be our suspension. And that’s the four big parts that we can cover cuz we’ve done the under floor and the front wing is going through right now. Let’s uh see what the ball thought of that results. They were delighted. Oh, that’s so nice to see that they were delighted with that because I was delighted with that. I wasn’t so delighted with the fact that we didn’t get a huge amount of money for it, but it is what it is. So, 7.6 mil. All of a sudden, I’ve got some money to play about with, but I don’t at the same time because we need to invest in some bits here. So, we need to buy a new engine. And I need to buy a new ERS cuz that’s the one and only ERS that we have. And all of a sudden, I don’t have any money. There we go. We got 100K in the bank. That’s it. And we still haven’t got a second gearbox for Czecho or a new gearbox to Czecho as well. That’s his only working gearbox. Ah, it is uh not a great time. And we’re going to have to do something with Very at some point further down the line as well. Maybe in the next ATR period, I don’t know. Or the next sponsor period. Uh we have 4 days to go until Zanva. We’ve got the car fixed up. So let’s advance. There we go. It is the 31st. So, when we come back uh from Zanvort, we will have uh pit crew training to do. We’ll get a little bit of money from our tour center. Uh we’ll also get uh a new board payment for the month. I’m curious to see how much that will be. We’ve been getting around 2 million every month after expenses from the board. Uh but now we have two new drivers added in as well. So yeah, that means we can expect to get less. I mean, we’re not paying a lot of money uh in the grand scheme of things for the drivers. We pay just a couple hundred,000. I think 350,000 for the season, you know, in total is the annual wage for Petro. And uh I do wonder whether I could have maybe undersold it even more, but we’re only paying 3.5 million a year for Ricardo. So hopefully he will prove worth his weight in gold. We’ll see. Let’s dive into the inbox. We got our uh uh some of our email bits and bobs to quickly look at. Uh, so weather going to be warm, no rain or not expecting rain. Let’s check the forecast. I wouldn’t call that warm, but yeah, it will be dry. Let’s take a look at our uh monthly affiliates. How have they improved, if at all? Uh, we’ve got an extra point in accuracy for Logan Sergeant and an extra point in adaptability for uh, Mr. Crawford there. Uh, we knew about that already for Pro. That happened the second he joined us. And then no change to Ricardo’s stats. If his braking and cornering were a little bit higher, I might have considered putting him in the car for Perez next season, but we’re not going to. Let’s check our main drivers. No change to them. No gains, but no losses. Uh we do have a race preview to look at. And there are the current standings after 12 13 rounds of the championship. I think it’s 13 tonight, isn’t it? No, 11 rounds. Is that right? Is it round 11? No, it’s round 13. I’ve just got my count. It is. It is round 13 tonight. I’ll have to rename the stream. Um so yeah, after 13 rounds of the championship, we’re just past the halfway point uh in the calendar. Uh we’ve got the mid-season break due after Zanvort, uh which is a good way to go into the weekend, I suppose. Uh George is now uh starting to stretch away from Charlotte and Max has got himself up into second place. So, can he keep that momentum going or is George now too far ahead? Mercedes are also looking pretty comfortable now in the constructor’s championship. And McLaren and Ferrari are uh looking like they’re going to lock horns over the fight for second place, it would seem. I do want to quickly check as well before we go. Um Karun said it was the fourth win of the season for George. I thought he’d won at least four already. No. Yeah, that was his fourth win of the season. I thought he’d already won four. I thought that was win number five. Okay, so four wins for M for George, one for Max, three for Charl, uh two for Oscar, one for Kimmy, one for Lando. They are your race winners. The top six are the only ones to have won a race so far this season. And all the sprints have been between George and Max. I believe we’ve had three sprints, four sprints. Llair’s got one as well. Uh so we have uh just a couple of sprints to go. They are a bit further down. Let’s see where are the sprints this year. [Music] uh Singapore [Music] and Zanvort.
