NBA 2K25 Gameplay: Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets – (Xbox Series X) [4K60FPS]

The shoes will stand by for you. Starting at small 6’7 in number eight. Starting at shooting 66 number zero Christian 68 number 32 2 64 in number 27. He’s got the welcome sports fans. Thank you for joining us. It’s the NBA on 2K Sports with two Hall of Famers, Doris Burke and Grant Hill. I’m Brian Anderson, Ali Leforce, our reporter. And now a chance to see what’s coming up for Toronto on Wednesday. They’ll be matching up against Deamar De Rozan and the Sacramento Kings. And then on Saturday, they’ll be matching up against Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers. You hear this all the time, but a road trip is a great chance for a team to build chemistry on and off the court. Chemistry matters a lot in the NBA and a trip like this can bring a team together. Now, let’s take a look at Toronto’s starting lineup. Barnes and Purle down low at the four and five. Then it’s RJ Barrett. Then there’s Emanuel Quickley. And it’s Lawson in at the two. And for the Nuggets pairing up in the back court, Murray and Brown, Gordon and Yic together in the middle. And it’s Watson in at the small forward position. A battle of the big men. Grab some popcorn for this faceoff at the center position tonight. Grant. Oh, no question. BA. I mean, these bigs bring the size and skill. Who has more tools in their tool? I mean, we’re about to find out. RJ Barrett trusting the jumper in the catch and shoot. Boy, if he’s consistent with that turn, the lights out. Pass to Brown. Murray with it. And he parries his first look and setting the tempo with an assertive move. Like, where was the defense on that play? To me, that’s a complete lack of communication on that side of the ball. These guys need to be talking to each other. Here’s Lawson. Here’s Quickley. Joic. Grabs the board. Here’s Brown going inside. Oh, and he breaks it down with a two-handed jam. Oh, man. I mean, the passing from Joic is off the charts. Gave his man just a great look. Here’s Barnes. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. It goes on Aaron Gordon. How about Scotty Barnes Doris named an all-star during his third season in 2024. And in fact, the third youngest allstar that year. Listen, he has upgraded his playmaking. He’s still getting better and I think that’s the scary part for the rest of the league. That free throw good from Barnes. You know, Grant, an underrated area of improvement for Scotty Barnes has been his defense. You’re spot on, BA. I mean, we’ve seen an elevated intensity from him on that end, finding more denials, attacking the ball, really proving himself as an effective stopper. Grant, the Denver Nuggets have been on quite the run here in this window of time. the NBA. It’s all working for Denver in recent years. This is a well constructed team that they play as a unit, but it makes it so difficult to try to get the best of them. Defensive. And while Nicole Joic has lots of years left in this league, he’s already an alltime great. You know, BA, not many guys have won multiple MVPs and a title. Jokic has already accomplished so much. And with his size and skill set, Joic can be elite for a long time and add to that impressive resume. One shot. And so here is Toronto. Four-point game. Gives us a chance to catch up with Alli Leforce. I had a chance to catch up with Michael Malone and he had nothing but praise for Scotty Barnes on the other side. He said Barnes poses so many problems because of his versatility. He can play multiple positions. He’s unselfish. He’s got great speed for his size. He had a lot of good things to say. Clearly Barnes has a big fan here. And Ally, thanks. Here’s Murray. Toronto making their last shot from outside the ark. Perfect night so far. Two for two. 80% field to start playing with a ton of confidence. Now here’s Barrett. Not a lot of room. There’s the block. And he’s going for the oop here. It’s stolen by Barnes. First quarter of ball almost two and a half minutes in. Quickly against Murray and that one’s good. Quickly. That’s about activity, determination. Quickly finishing strong. Pass to Brown. Gordon outside. Joic in the post. Covered by Purle. Joic. No good. Well, we love his ability to attack the rim. He just loses a little bit of focus and misses the chippy quickly finds Purle. Second shot opportunity. Well, the contact on Purle pretty clear there. The big man getting tough and gets the call. It’s his first trip to the line at the line for the Raptors. Two shots. And that one falls for Purle. Well, Yaka Purle guys may not be a stretch big, but what he does well is virtually everything else. He boards it. He plays incredible D and he’s a very good passer. So he makes one of two and the second one misses. Early in the season like this, it’s interesting to see the improvement and new skills players have picked up over the offseason doors. It really is because yes, do the players take a brief rest, but unequivocally you’ve got to get your body right and get your mind back in coordinated. But the fact is for most NBA players this is a 365day commitment. They are working on shooting, conditioning, skill development. There is very little time off for these guys. That free throw good from Gordon. Something this Raptors team does very well is move the ball doors. Yeah, BA, this is an unselfish group of guys. They like moving the basketball, getting everybody involved. Amazing when a team has everybody touch it, how good it feels. That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. Well, Grant, the Raptors are in the middle of a rebuild and are looking to establish an identity here. Yeah, they’ve got some solid young pieces, specifically Scotty Barnes. They just need more experience and some time in order to learn what it takes to win at this level. And timeout called by Darko Rayakovich. He wants to make sure everybody’s on the same page. All right, man. It’s dead. Everybody’s watching. Keep on dancing. Thanks. You’re on the big screen. Heat up here. All right, some time here to take a look at the 2K leaderboard. Here were the league’s top shooting squads from last year. Fourth, Denver. They were so consistent with their shooting. Maybe not lights out, but they played smart and didn’t let good looks go to waste. Yic against Purle. Pass to Quickly. Now here’s Purle. He’s closely guarded. Four on the clock. Unloads and it’s quickly with a miss. Well, if the defense gives him that shot next time, they could get burned. I think he’s just a little bit out of rhythm. All alone from mid-range, they know he won’t miss many of those. Barnes, no good. He’s got a great defensive mind. He gets good position and affects the release. And he did it without fouling. And that’s coming changing shots without making contact. Powerful stuff from the Joker. The defense doesn’t want any of that and I don’t blame him. Here’s Lawson still without a bucket. And Pete Watson is going to pick up the foul. That’s his first foul. And there’s just one foul now away from the penalty. Walter, he’s checked in for Toronto. Substitution. Number 14, Jacobe Walter. Pass to Barrett. The three is up. Denver grabs the miss. Joic has got six rebounds in the game. Here’s Gordon. Here’s Brown beyond the ark. They get it back. Jokic. Hurdle with some nice D. And Barrett has got the ball here for Toronto. They trail by six. Their last encounter in Toronto. They just couldn’t get it done against this team last time. Their starters got into quick trouble because of some cheap fouls. You know, you try to establish consistent substitution patterns. It helps you stay in a rhythm and they had to go to their bench much too early. Now here’s Murray. He’s got five. Gordon. The pass to Murray. Man, it’s Murray finishing it off. Oh, explosive move. Sometimes Murray doesn’t get enough credit for his athleticism. Raptors trail by eight. They’ve been having major problems offensively. Definitely in a bit of a dry spell. Time now to hear from our reporter Ally the Force. Daniel Quickley is the lead guard for the Raptors and he said, “I’m still learning when to be ultra aggressive and when to get my teammates involved. The balance of it all while playing defense at a high level. It’s a lot, but I’m having fun learning all of it because this is what I wanted to be challenged. Brian. All right, Ally. Good stuff there. Thank you. Here’s Murray and he converts the layup. Murray’s got nine. Boy, absolutely no rim protection leading to a lot of easy buckets here. And Darko Rayakovic has called a timeout. He wants to give him a breather and talk things over. Nuggets fans, give it up for the Le squad. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. for your eyes. And so here is Toronto. Eight-point game. Pass to Walter. Quickly deciding where to go with it. Here’s Walter outside. Barrett. Shot clock at six. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. And one thing we’ve seen from RJ Barrett, he likes playing in a system where they move the ball, Doris, and he likes BA when that ball moves in his direction. RJ Barrett is a thirsty scoreer. He can go off the bounce. He’s working really hard to shore up that perimeter game. He has got a tremendous future. First free throw is good. And what you love about this Denver offense, Grant, by and large, they take good shots. Oh, they do. Top five in field goal percentage over the last five seasons. And a lot of that is Jokic delivering the ball to the right guy at the right time. Charich checks in for the Nuggets. Porter Jr. comes in for Watson and Barrett drops them both. After their title in 2019, the Raptors have struggled to stay among the league’s elite stores. Well, think about it. NBA. The driver of that title success was Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry. Both of those players are gone. Very hard to replace players of that caliber. Almost inevitable they were going to take a step back. Now here’s Gordon on the wing. Murray guarded by Quickly and the shot goes. Murray’s got 11. I’ll tell you, this lead’s not going anywhere with this guy making plays. What a quarter. Hurle with a screen on Gordon. Here’s Barnes and the shots good. He’s got five. We know Scotty Barnes will embrace the physicality. That score is about concentration. Murray passes to Gordon. Murray against quickly. Murray inside. Rebound Toronto. They put up a nice win against Sacramento last time out. Yeah, they hit the court last game with some serious attitude, especially on offense. And what surprised me was how easy they made it look. Seemed like they got something out of every possession. And the dunk by Purle. I think this guy is a threat to throw it down every time Purle gets his hands on the ball. This guy has tremendous size and takes advantage. Now here’s Murray. 11 points in the game. Brown and it’s good. The time running down on the shot clock and the Nuggets lead by six. The Raptors have gone six of 13 so far in this one. Outside Barnes to the paint. Oh, a great one-two punch. A beautiful pass and a nasty jam. Wow, the hammer by RJ Barrett. How about that athleticism? Gordon outside. Back to Murray with some arc. Barnes with the rebound. Already plus five in terms of rebound margin. Here’s Barrett. That one’s good. And it’s Barnes with the assist. And now just a two-point Denver lead. It’s obvious he’s taken it upon himself to try and keep them alive. Quickly against Murray. Pass to Charich. Gordon outside. Charich with it. Outside Murray. The Nuggets need to get one up and Char gets the three. Such a problem. Just knocking down the three. It helps space the floor for his teammates. You’ve got to guard him there. Now here’s Quickley. He picked up 15 in their last win against Sacramento. Barrett against Porter. Here’s Barnes. Rebounded by Denver. Yeah, we’re not used to seeing him get bottled up like that. Wow. Here’s Brown and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. That’s his first personal. Hey, if you can’t block it, sending him to the line can be the next best thing. This is his first trip to the free throw line tonight. Taking two shots. Shoot two. And the first one at the line is good. A different look for Denver. Nicole Joic comes in for Gordon. And it’s Westbrook in for Jamal Murray. Toronto making a switch here. So he gets them both. Raptors trail by seven. 5second differential between the shot clock and game clock. Pass to Barrett. Fires for three. And that one falls. His fifth basket in seven tries. The entire offensive arsenal of RJ Barrett is on display. Westbrook taking his time here down low. Pat Joic throws it down and this night already has the makings of an offensive war. Well, the fans love it. Coaches may not like the lack of defense, but boy, the rules promote scoring. No doubt. Jamal Murray, he’s been the guy making things happen for the Nuggets. 11 points in the quarter. He’s on fire. All right, stick around. We’ll be right back after this. And for those of you just tuning in, second quarter action is where we are. And a chance for just a second to check out the scoring breakdown for Denver. Well, great play down low. I mean, you expect the defense to adjust, collapse maybe, but that should open up things on the perimeter later in the game. Yeah. And in addition, their ball movement has really unleash their offense. Boy, they’ve been fun to watch. They’ve got Russell Westbrook, Dario Charich is out there with Nicole. Then it’s Michael Porter and it’s Picket in at the point guard position. That’s the group for Denver getting going in the second. Buries it from three. Porter’s got his first three points of the game. a lights out three-point shooter. All Porter Jr. needs is a little wiggle room and he’s pulling up. Oh, poked away. Stolen by Joic. Pickicket passes to Westbrook. And here’s Yic. We saw him with 29 points in his last game. Here’s Mo. Pass to shed. Bush against Joic. Here’s shed. Rebounded by Picket. The Nuggets lead by nine. Just over a minute gone here in the second quarter. And here’s Yic. Pass to Porter. Here’s Picket. Five to shoot. Here’s Joic in the paint. Joic going off. And Doris, some use the term stocks to add up steals and blocks. Chad Homegrren and Victor Wimyama stocks are through the roof. Well, in fact, since the turn of the century, only five rookies ever have averaged over three quote stocks per game. Victor and Ched are both on that list. And listen, you’re a passionate NBA fan. You are so excited about these two young men. The size and the skill and the eyepopping things they’re doing on a nightly basis. The NBA is in good hands. Now here’s Westbrook. They lead by 11. Largest margin of the game. Oh, good D by Bet. Toronto shooting at a decent clip. 45% for the game. Here’s Walter. He had a 15-point outing in their last game against Sacramento. Here’s Shed. Pass to puts up a deep three. And again, Toronto no good. We all know he’s a good shooter, but from that distance, uh, I don’t think so. Boy, we’re seeing it more and more. guys looking to create additional space by stepping back further from the line. Here’s Pickicket. Still no points. 43. The shot misses and he almost made them regret defending him so loosely. Inside here’s Walter. Nice start for him. Sinking his first shot. Love to see Barrett aggressively sharing the basketball. wants to get it to his teammates in their spots. Nice Westbrook. Pass to Yic and Jokic throws it down. Attacking the rim with power. Tremendous finish. Pass to BJ. It’s Barrett on the wing. Two fouls already on him. That is not the way to get your minutes per game up. And the shot counts. He’s fouled. And it’s a chance for a three-point play on the night. He’s two for two at the strike. Gordon, he’s checked in for the Nuggets. Brown comes in for picking. First team foul. Shooting for Toronto. RJ Ben at the line for one. The free throw dropped for Barrett. I think one of the things I most admire about RJ Barrett’s game, he can do a little bit of everything. He can score it, board it, pass it at a high level. This young man can play the game. Here’s Brown. Six points for him to the middle. Here’s Jookic. That’s basket number six. And he tries. Well, this guy flat out carrying the load for them offensively. He is taking and making good shots. What a terrific job. Pass to Walter. Here’s Lawson. He’s scoreless. Bush left side. Rebounded by Denver. Jokic got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. And they’re plus five on the boards after that rebound. Took him no time at all to get that one. Quarter’s got six in the quarter. That’s been typical of their performance today. They’re sharing the ball and creating good shots. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline. ABA. The Denver Nuggets are building for the long haul. Their philosophy has been to draft college prospects and then develop them into contributors. They look for four qualities. Basketball IQ, character, positional size, and the absence of skilled deficiencies. Brian, the track record has been it really has. Thanks, Ally. The first free throw is good. Well, of course, Scotty Barnes won the rookie of the year. 2122 guys. And you talk about a well-rounded basketball player who will affect winning with both his offensive ability and his defensive versatility. Watson. He’s checked in for Denver. Jamal Murray comes in for Russell Westbrook. Quickly is checked in for Toronto. Both free throws good from Barnes. They’ve been impeccable from the line here in the second period. Doing what they can to try to build some momentum. Quickly against Murray. Gordon with a screen on quickly and Gordon with the big finish. You love seeing Aaron Gordon in the pick and roll. This guy is adept at setting screens and then getting into open space. Grant, when you think of Jamal Murray and all he’s been through, health is of utmost importance for him. Oh, extremely important, BA, because when Murray is healthy, he’s a lethal player and a huge part of this team’s success. Now, here’s Murray. 11 points in the game. Here’s Brown. And another basket for Denver and just totally relentless only increasing the intensity level. One thing I enjoy is watching players who don’t pay attention to the score. You lock in on the moment and play the right way. Now here’s quickly and stolen by Joic. Pass to Murray. Here’s Brown. Lets the three fly. Barnes with the rebound. Now here’s Quickley. Bush. A screen on Murray to the inside and finished off by Buché. A solid IQ play right there from Emanuel Quickley. And so it’s Murray who brings up the ball for Denver. Defeated by Utah in their last game. They’ll try to put that one behind them. Yeah, it was a tough one to watch. There were some bright moments, but ultimately their mistakes caught up with them. To be perfectly frank with you, I’m surprised it was as close as it was. I thought they were outclassed all night. Here’s Lawson yet to see a basket. quickly from outside. Watson with the rebound. The Nuggets lead by 13. Pass to Murray. Now Joic. Joic finishing through the D. And this is how powerful Joic is. Able to still score despite the contact outside Barnes. And here is Barrett. There’s the three. Brown grabs the board. Well, this has not been a quarter to remember for this guy. He looks completely flustered. Murray passes to Joic. Out to Gordon outside. Watson. Pass to Brown. Lets it go from deep. Drills it from deep. Brown’s got five points now this quarter. Yeah, there’s no quitting this guy. He just gives you great effort and he continues to give you great production. Quickly against Murray lays it up and banks it in. Quickley’s got his second bucket on the night. Boy, quickly getting a bucket on the interior. Nicely done. And timeout is called by Michael Malone. He’s going to talk it over with his guys. Never break. Heat up here. Michael Porter who’s checked in for Joic. And Toronto also making a switch. Purdles checked in. and it’s the Nuggets ball. They’re on a 14-6 run. Now Murray, he’s got 11 and the three off target. And we haven’t seen them pound the ball inside and draw as much contact this quarter. Here’s Barnes. Excellent defense there from Watson. I’ll tell you what, they’ve rebounded the ball tremendously well. Porter finds Murray. That one drops and it comes off an assist from Porter. Murray’s got 13 now. We’ve seen Murray raise his game. Part of it is an increase in toughness, the ability to score when it’s not simple. Now, here’s Quickly. Outside Barrett. Picked by Purle. Puts up a three. RJ Barrett. That was good. Barrett’s got 19 points. Well, you’ve got to be able to operate in pick and roll action. And RJ Barrett very comfortable handling the rock. Murray up top guarded by Quickley. The drive by Murray. Oh, that bucket gives him his seventh field goal in 12 tries. You know, I think this guy just loves the game of basketball. The preparation, the interaction with his teammates. He has fun out there on the floor. Now, here’s Quickly. Purle with a screen on Porter inside and Purle gets it to go on the assist by Barrett. Purdle’s got his second basket of the game. Well, critical in the pick and roll that you be able to deliver the ball in a timely spot and in the right position and RJ Barrett does just that. Here’s Gordon pass to Porter. Here’s Watson. Brown passes to Watson. Down to five on the shot clock from the arc. Crowd shot is good. 14 points for him. And taking a look at this first half, they’ve just shown better shot selection. And I think obviously we see the execution and the willingness to make the next pass. So important. Barrett. And that’s not going to go. Misses at the buzzer. And so it’s the Denver Nuggets a sizable 18-point lead at the end of the period. It hasn’t taken them too many shots to get their points. They’re winning with efficiency. All right, Alli’s ready to go. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. Thanks very much. I’m here with Mike Malone and coach, evaluate this team’s execution offensively for me. Well, I think we’re at our best when we can get out and run, but also play downhill. It’s a simple game for us. When we defend, that gets us out to run. Now we can play downhill, attack, and share the ball. That’s when we’re at our best. Keep it simple. Thanks, coach. Ally, as always, thank you. We’ll be right back to begin the third quarter right after this. Please direct your attention to center court and get ready for the bad half court job. Drum roll. They’re measuring up the shot. Nice. Give it up for the participants. And as we welcome you to halftime, no other way to say it, an abysmal start for the Toronto Raptors. They’re getting destroyed inside. I’m pretty sure even Kenny could get a layup on them right now. Shaq, I’d get a layup on you every time. You know what I’m saying? Like my my pick and roll game was just phenomenal. And now here’s the player of the week from both the East and West for the Western Conference, Kawhi Leonard. Obviously, Leonard’s used to this type of recognition. Efficient and prolific offensively, versatile and disruptive defensively. He’s had a tremendous stretch during which he’s been in full control of a number of games. And that’s a wrap on halftime. Thanks for watching as we send you back to BA to call the second half. And after a very lopsided first half, we’ll see if things play out a little more evenly in the second. Nice game. Great performance by RJ Barrett. Yeah, tonight he’s done a great job of slashing through the lane and finishing. And part of that has to do with his mindset. He has been looking to push the action at every opportunity and he has been in attack mode all night. Denver leading by 18. Checking out the group for Darko Rayakovic to start the second half. There it is. The three and Barnes will play the four. Then there’s Emanuel Quickley. Then there’s Yaka Purle and it’s Lawson in a two guard. Murray from outside to Gordon takes the three. Purle grabs a miss. Purle’s got four rebounds now. Raptors trail by 18. It’s Barrett on the wing. Hits a three-pointer. Barrett’s got 22 points. I know Barrett loves to strike from the corners. He just trusts himself to make that shot. Outside Murray. Hurle against Joic. Back to Murray. You know, I just love the moxy Murray has to his game. He’s so fast and supremely confident. Denver shooting their sixth and seventh free throw attempts tonight. At the line for your Nuggets, Jamal Murray, two shots. The free throw drops from Murray. That one’s no good. Raptors trail by 16. Outside Barrett. It’s Barnes on the wing defended by Gordon. Right side Barrett. Oh, and he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. This is who RJ Barrett is. Fearless scorer, wants to draw contact and get himself to the line. He’s shooting free throws number four and five here. That free throw misses. Well, one thing you love about RJ Barrett is he is a scorer at heart. This guy will hunt shots. He’s going to be aggressive and when he gets on a roll, look out, guys. Good on the second one. Here’s Murray. He’s got 16. Pass to Joic. over Purle and again it’s Denver missing. They’ve been unable to hit anything this half. Three attempts and three misses. Blocked out of bounds as Toronto keeps possession. And the fans love seeing incredible moments on defense like that block. Yeah, just some terrific effort there. And you know the whole team will get an energy boost off a block like that one. Third quarter here over a minute and a half into it. Here’s Lawson. That’s it. Coming off an assist from Barnes. Barnes has got assist number five here tonight. Yeah, we know this about Scotty Barnes. He has a team first mindset. Finds the open player in that instance. Now here’s Watson. No made baskets yet. Back to Joic. It’s stolen by Purle. Pass to Barnes. Down low. There’s the steal. Back come the Nuggets on the run. Here’s Joic. Smart transition play by Joic. Helps his team in so many ways. Joic is more than just a leader. Raptors trail by 14. Outside Barnes. Second half of play here with just under 2 and 1/2 minutes pass to the middle. Here’s Purle and the dunk by Purle. I think his frame makes him very difficult to deal with as a roll man. Purle can set a mean screen. Over to the wing. Back to Murray. Pass to Watson. Purdle against Joic. Five on the clock in deep. That’s easy work for Joic. Such a powerfully built man. I mean, Joic seems to just brush off the foul from the opposition. This will be his second trip to the free throw line. Yakob. That’s his first personal foul. Second team inbound at the line for Denver. Nicole Yic shooting one. Free throw drops for Joic. And the skill set that Joic possesses. Arguably the most skilled center to ever play the game. Marco Rayakovic has called a timeout. Coach wants to speak to his guys, maybe alter some of the game plan. Everyone, let’s Wow. Heat. What time is it? It’s t-shirt time. Time to fire off the one. The 2K leaderboard highlighting last season’s assist leaders. Fourth, Nicole Yokic. Not a lot of guys had better vision on the floor than him. He was able to see passing lanes and ready shooters no one else could. Barnes passes to quickly over Murray again. The Raptors good for two more. 80% shooting to start the third. Four for five. Well, Emanuel Quickley is a combo guard who impacts both sides of the ball. Doris, there’s no question about it. He’s a floor spacer. he can create for himself or his teammates and defensively longer than you think it. Very mobile. Looks like we’re starting to see a pattern here. Not afraid to get in the paint and get wet. Pass to Lawson. Here’s Barnes. Gordon pulls it in. That’s a shot he makes with regularity, but that time the defense up to the challenge. Here’s Brown. He’s got 14. Joic with it. Covered by Purle and they recover it for three. Gordon outside. Watson. Murray looking around. Clock at six. Over quickly. Kept alive. And they blow the whistle just as he gets it off. That’s two points with a chance at another one at the stripe. Time and time again, they’re creating good looks from close range. And a look at how the offensive approach has been going so far for the Nuggets. They’ve been all about high percentage looks in this game. Working the ball inside and doing whatever it takes to get it to go. I think it’s also important we mention the number of assists this group has tallied. Their offense continues to just hum along right now. The free throw dropped for Joic. And the NBA has made a significant investment in the G-League over the years. Grant, you can really see the impact it’s had. The NBA and it’s grown into a real minor league for the NBA. The NBA needed something like that for a long time and it’s helped the product. Now here’s Quickley. Six points for him. No good on the three. Here’s Brown to the paint. Here’s Gordon. U two on the layup. Gordon’s got six. And why go away from attacking inside if the D has no answer for you? And here’s Quickly. He’ll bring it up for the Toronto Raptors. Following this one, they hit the road to challenge the Kings at Golden One Center in Sacramento. That’ll be the second game of a five-game road trip. Oh, Joic with the block. But look at Joic using those long arms, managing to get his hand on the ball and knock it away. Walter, he’s checked in for Lawson Walter. Outside Barnes, six to shoot. Driving in, here’s Purle and he banks in the layup. Purle’s got four points in the quarter. Well, defensively to me, you’ve got to do a better job communicating once the screen comes. Pass to Brown. Back to Murray. Now here’s Gordon. It’s stolen by Barnes. It’s an even threeon-ree break. And there’s Barrett on the assist by Barnes. Barnes has got his sixth assist of the night. Denver leading by 16. Murray with it. He’s got 16. Gordon outside. Fires from deep. Rebound Toronto. Quickly outside. Pass to Walter. quickly against Murray down low and he goes in for the dunk. Now that’s how you capitalize on a screen. Yeah, good positioning, too. Gave him a clear path to the hoop. Where was the defense? No fighting through the pit, no rotation. My goodness. And so it’s Michael Malone here calling timeout and we might see some changes. Coach potentially looking to adjust. All right, everyone. Time to make some noise to your one and only Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. One more time is answer. Pass to Murray. That one drops and it comes off an assist from Porter. Murray’s got 18. Skilled finish by Murray. He can score inside and outside. Really anywhere on the court. Murray against Quickley to the middle. Here’s Barnes up and in on the layup. Nine points in the game. At his position, Scotty Barnes going to set a lot of screens. You have to understand how to roll and get open. He does exactly that. Gordon against Barnes. Yic with a screen on quickly. Murray for three, gets the trifecta. Murray’s got 21. Well, after netting one in the first half, that’s the second deep fall to go down for this guy. Outside Barnes outside Barrett from downtown. Denver grabs the miss. Jokic has got rebound number 15 here tonight. They really have a commanding lead not just in points but in rebounds as well. Aaron Gordon showing he can jump out of the gym. How about that alley quickly? Passes to Barnes to the inside. Porter against Barrett. Great D that time from Porter. Denver leading by 19. 156 left in the third. Here’s Murray. Got it. Good job in the low post. Murray’s got eight points in the quarter. I call Jamal Murray a scoring guard. He’s on this team to provide points and he’s certainly doing that tonight. Pass to Barnes. Inside. Here’s Purle and the dunk by Purle. He can really read the floor. Precision pass in rhythm and it’s Murray with the ball for the Nuggets. Here’s Brown. Gordon with it. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. That one on Barnes. It’s a problem trying to deal with the athleticism of Aaron Gordon. You’ve got to be more careful as a defender. And this is his second trip to the line tonight. That free throw good from Gordon. I think the things that Aaron Gordon has added to his game, specifically that reliable three-point shot is a really welcome sign. This guy has an incredible upside. Russell Westbrook, he’s checked in for Brown. Both free throws good from Gordon. And talking about Gordon, just a freak athlete and ferocious dunker. A valuable role player on this team out to the right wing. Bush down low working on Joic. Pass to shed. Bush on the screen. Shot clock at five. Joic grabs the board. Joic has got his 16th rebound on the night. They’ve shown the power inside. Their rebounding effort has been sensational. Now here’s Gordon with a 21-point lead. The biggest in the game. Their offense has been unstoppable. Just firing on all cylinders. And at this point, it is their game to lose. They’ve done such a good job building the lead here. Shed hasn’t gotten one to fall yet. Pass to Walter. There’s the triple. Gordon pulls it in. Gordon’s got four rebounds in the game. It would be smart to hold for the final shot. Well, that’s great execution if you can do that because it takes any chance of momentum away from your opponent. And it’s going to be a 3second call. Substitution. Five ticks left in the third. Here’s Lawson. Rejected by Westbrook. It’s been all about Nola Joic for Denver. Piling up the numbers that quarter. Already he’s got a double double. Time for a quick break, then back to the action. And there have been two very different performances from these teams today as we get going in quarter number four. Here’s Lawson. Nola Joic is out there with Daario Charich. Then it’s Michael Porter. Then there’s Russell Westbrook. And it’s Alexander in at the two spot. That’s the group in the game for the Nuggets. Now here’s Barnes. It’s called in by Charich. The Nuggets lead by 23. And the foul is called. He missed it. So he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. It goes on Chris Bucher. Nice to see that intensity from Porter Jr. going right into the defender to collect a shooting foul. Junior taking two shots. That one’s off. All right. Let’s say you’re starting a new franchise today and you get to pick any player in the league. Who you got, Grant? Oh, man. There’s so much talent to choose from. You can’t go wrong with Donic, Aunt Tumpo, or Jokic. There’s some enticing young players, too, like Anthony Edwards as well. Chonchar checked in for Denver. Had no luck that time either. An exceptionally skilled player. You hope Michael Porter Jr. stays healthy. I mean, his potential is limitless, Jed. That’s good. Such a reliable threat from range. You think the defense might key on him a little bit more. Now, here’s Westbrook guarded closely. outside. Porter uses the glass to finish the layup. And this is how you execute through contact. Porter Jr. outworking the defense in style. Here’s shed pounded by Westbrook to the inside. And that one’s good. Lawson, this is what we call highly efficient play. Working off the screen, getting to the cup. Now here’s Westbrook. Tight defense on him and he drops in the layup off the glass. Boy, it will take more than that kind of defense to stop this guy. Russell Westbrook so fierce on the interior. Here’s Walter Charich covers. Here’s Bush for three. It doesn’t go for him. Denver leading by 22. John Char passes to Charich and he loves it up top and stolen by Buché to the right side. Getting from distance. Shed’s got six here in the quarter. The three-point shooting has been on point here in the second half. Westbrook outside. Pass to Joic. Just five on the clock. Here’s John Char and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer offline. It’s Barnes on the wing. Here’s Walter. He’s guarded by Porter. Back to Barnes. Jacks up a three. Rebound by the Nuggets. Earlier they held a 23-point lead. And here’s Charage for three. That’s good. And so West with the assist. Well, you can tell Dario Char’s teammates want him to take these kinds of shots when he plays with confidence. Look out. Pass to Buché. Horns a screen. Bush no good. The Nuggets lead by 22. Charich with it here in the fourth quarter. Just under two and a half gone by. Joic against Bush. Joic passes to Chachar from about 19. Charot is off. Toronto has gone two of four from the perimeter here in the fourth quarter. Pass to Walter. Well, Doris, with so many franchises, the star player has a lot of sway. Well, to me, BA, so much of this speaks to which star are we talking about? If you take someone like Stephen Curry who historically has welcomed other stars to play alongside him or has at moments in his career had to elevate young players, maybe have to play through some mistakes. He welcomes both. It depends on the star we’re talking about. And timeout is called by Michael Malone. Coach clearly has something he wants to say to his team right now. It’s time for the dance. If you see someone, you know what to do. Show us your moves. Look at those moves. No. Yeah, you Heat. Heat. Denver leading by 22. Pass to Joic. Here’s Brown. Back to Joic. And the dunk by Joic. He is just an excellent pick and roll option. Joic always uses his high basketball IQ to find and execute the right play. A different look for Denver. Gordon, he’s checked in for Charich. And Murray subbed in for Westbrook. The Raptors also with a sub. Walter, he’s checked in for Lawson. The free throw dropped for Joic and the NBA moving to a two-day draft. Your thoughts on the change, Greg? You know, BA, a lot of pro sports are shifting to multi-day drafts and the NBA draft can be long if done all in one evening, so maybe a good choice to break it up. Fires in the triple. Defensively, you can’t afford to get stuck on the pick. You know exactly what that takes. It takes energy. It takes activity. It takes intensity. Now here’s Murray. Gordon on the wing. Pass to Brown. Now Porter. Here’s Brown. It’s Joic. High post over Purle. Joic. No good. And here’s Quickly. He’ll bring it up for Toronto. looking to get it going. The rebound by Murray. Denver leading by 22. Pass to Brown. Porter from outside. Rebound. Toronto. Out of bounds. Hurles’s got eight rebounds in the game. And out of bounds. Denver will have it. The Nuggets making a switch here. Watson’s checked in. The Raptors making a switch here. Denver has gone one for three in the fourth quarter from Rage. The Raptors have gotten four of nine shots to go in during this fourth quarter. Boston passes to Barnes and again Toronto no good. Yeah, he’s really scrambling to keep them in this game. Got to respect that hustle. Yic. Good. Jokic has got 32 points in the game. Their interior D continues to look shaky. Not a good matchup for them right now. Pass to Lawson. outside. Barrett from deep three-point range and the Raptors miss again for Denver. They’ve got five out of 10 shots to drop here in the final quarter. Back to Joic with the fadeaway rebound by the Raptors. The Hurdles got 10 rebounds here tonight. So active to the left side wing outside Barrett and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. and you look at the development of the AI, how might it affect the league going forward towards I think there’s so much to be learned, Brian, about that exact thing, whether we are talking about the league or whether we’re talking about society to a greater extent as it relates to the league. How will teams employ it for scouting? Does it impact shot selection or player contracts? Maybe even the negotiation of the next CBA. Truth is, we really don’t know. What we do know, it’s coming fast. And it’s a completely new group here for the Nuggets. So, he hits one of two from the strike. The Nuggets lead by 23. And a foul called on the way up. So, he’ll take two from the free throw line. That’s his third personal foul. It’s going to go on RJ Barrett. The officials were right on top of that one. Time for your nuggets. Tyson two shots. He misses the free throw. And the second free throw is good. Doris, coaching is a difficult job. You think they’re judged unfairly? I do, PA. I think they go into any circumstance and it’s largely contingent on what is the strength of the organization, what’s your ownership like? What are what is their commitment level to winning? What is your front office and the decision-m process like but we all know this like the coaches ultimately are the ones who are judged by wins and losses. They know that going in. This is a huge part of Scotty Barnes’s development. Can he knock down the long ball? Westbrook against quickly. Westbrook with the miss. Raptors trail by 21. Pass to Barnes. Back to Quickley. Fires the three. Barnes passes to Barrett. Quickly against Westbrook to the paint. Here’s Porter. And that one comes off the assist by Westbrook. Westbrook’s got his fourth assist in this one. Smart play there by Porter. Working his way inside to find a reliable close range look. And timeout called by Darko Rayakovich. He wants their game plan to be crystal clear at this point. Welcome to the Nugget Squad and Who want the heat? Heat up here. Alexander. He’s checked in for Tyson. Two minutes remaining. Boston passes to Furle outside Barrett. And a vital mission for the NBA. Mental health. Commissioner Silver has said it’s the most important issue for the league. And I applaud Adam for those comments he’s made about it. I mean, the season is so difficult. It could really take a toll on your mind. So, it’s great the league is trying to help players out through this. Here’s Westbrook and the layup is good. Westbrook’s gotten four this quarter. Well, great work from Russell Westbrook. The closer he is, the more aggressive he becomes. A minute and a half left to play in the fourth quarter. Barrett can’t hit. And so it’s Westbrook who will bring it up for the Nuggets. Well, the scoreboard tells you everything you need to know about this one. A great showing here for the Nuggets. And you don’t usually see this kind of blowout, but tonight they delivered the punishment. I mean, what’s so impressive is they never wavered in their approach. They just kept at it and showed they were without a doubt the better team. And they pick up their fourth win of the year. Every victory so sweet in the association. And even though this season series was only two games, a sweep is still a sweep. And what a huge performance it was for Nicole Yokic. I think his steals tell the story. This guy was a disruptive force. And I don’t think you can underestimate how important it is for a team to have someone in that role. Free throw drops for Barrett. and Barrett drops them both. And technology always a conversation, Doris. So talk to us about wearable sensors and where that is between the league and players union. Yeah, you know, obviously there are some privacy concerns because what these wearables give you are devices to measure how healthy a player is. What should his exertion level be based on all kinds of health information, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, what was the quality of sleep? Quality of sleep is a huge issue in the NBA with all the late flights and tip times, etc., etc., cross-country travel. When you’re investing millions into your players, you’re trying to take the best care you can of them. And some of that goes to the information you can glean from these wearables. I love them. About 7 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. And there it is for him. Stepping up and nailing an important shot to put this away. Yeah. Playing with great energy and great effort. And as a coach, you’d love to see this from your team every single night. Here’s Mobo outside. Barrett Bush a screen on Porter the three. Barrett can’t hit that one. So, it’s the Nuggets winning this one easily. Boy, they were something special to watch tonight and the crowd loving every second of it. It’s always a great feeling when you play this well for your fans. This team really showed what it’s capable of. All right, let’s send it down to Ali Leforce who’s with our player of the game. Nola, a great game for you tonight. Are nights like tonight even more enjoyable when you put up huge numbers individually? Uh, I’m going to take a dab with you to be honest. I mean, that’s what we all play for for the wins. Fans coming for the wins and uh we came out and play really good basketball tonight and hopefully we’re going to continue. Always such a team player. Back to you guys. All right, Ally, thank you. And that about wraps it up for Doris Burke, Ally Leforce, and Grant Hill and all of our crew. This is Brian Anderson thanking you for watching this 2K Sports presentation of the NBA. And now, let’s take a look at our player of the game, Nola Joic.
