I Spent 24 Hours Shiny Hunting for Legends Z-A DLC

I have 24 hours to find and get together full shiny Pokémon team for the Legend ZA DLC. And what’s going to make this even more difficult, aside from the time limit, is that the team has to consist of at least three alpha Pokémon. So, I will spend the entire next 24 hours non-stop shiny hunting for some of the rarest shiny Pokémon in the game. And if I don’t complete my task, I will release all the existing Pokémon I had caught in this challenge. Welcome to my shiny hunt. My journey began with hunting one of my top 10 shiny Pokémon to ever exist, and that is Scray. Scracrafty recently received a new Mega Evolution, and it’s beautiful. I mean, not Scray himself, but the design is actually quite ugly. And it shiny form when it mega evolves looks even better. The colors are something out the ordinary, and I do like weird color palettes on shinies. Hence why I’ve shiny hunted multiple shiny Machamps in the past. [Music] But anyways, Scray has a very interesting spawn location for shiny hunting, and the method to try to spawn a shiny is actually quite fun. I traveled to this alleyway and met up with my brothers. There were like six of them trying to gang up on me. So, I took them all down with an earthquake and set a timer. You see, this shiny hunt is different to anything else I’ve done. Rather than fast traveling or running up and down, I had to time how long it will take for the Scraggy and Scrafty to respawn. So, as soon as they fainted, the timer started and I patiently waited. It took roughly just under 5 minutes for mine to spawn in again. So, I closed and opened the game back up now knowing the exact moment they will all spawn in. And once again, I patiently waited, but now I had to save just before they all spawn in. So, around 10 seconds before the 5minut spawn time, I constantly saved the game in case I got the timing wrong. And just like that, a bunch of scraggy appeared. And now it was time to shiny hunt. The method from here was very simple. All I had to do was just exit the game and start it back up. And when I was start the game back up, because I had previously saved it just before they spawned in, I had a guaranteed new spawn of Scraggy and Scrafty the moment I opened the game. And so I began to just spam closing and opening the game until I got a shiny. [Music] And there we have it. A shiny scraggly appeared on my 15th attempt of respawning them. Luckily, it has that sparkle and shiny sound. Otherwise, I promise you, there is no way I was going to casually spot that shiny. I threw a Pokéball at it, but I’m not going to lie, I do regret it. I should have used the cooler Poké Ball, but I was panicking, so the thought process didn’t enter my brain fast enough. Soon as I caught the shiny, I dipped. I found a safe spot to take a closer look at shiny Scraggy and appreciate just how cute the little fella is. Scraggy evolves into Scrafty at level 39. So, I fed him XP candies until Bro was strong enough to evolve. And there we have it, a shiny Scray. I don’t know what it is with me and green shinies, but I just love them. One shiny Pokémon down and five more to go. I also took a cool photo of Scray walking down some stairs. I think it was pretty neat, but that’s besides the point. The point is, I just caught my first shiny in less than 30 minutes of hunting. And because that was so fast and easy, I decided to go spend a few hours trying to upgrade the shiny scrappy I just got into an alpha scr. You see, I could have stayed in that same alleyway and hoped a shiny alpha would appear, but the odds of that happening were slim to none. I’m talking one in probably a few thousand attempts. And at this moment, I just didn’t have the time to be able to do that, never mind the patience. And so, there is one other main spot where there is a guaranteed alpha crafty spawn. That is zone 20. This zone is known as the ultimate alpha spawner, where you can spawn up to six shiny alpha Pokémon at the same time. Here’s how to do it. In the post game, you unlock zone 20, which has 67 different alpha Pokémon, and you have the ability to get any of those Pokemon as shinies. Fly over to this specific Pokémon Center. So, you register your spawn point there. Now, head over to zone 20’s main entrance. Your job is to get the two random alpha Pokémon to the entrance. So, just play around with them and make them follow you to this part where the stream is. But this is important. Make sure you don’t faint as it ruins the whole exploit. Once they follow you to around this sort of area, run quickly to the entrance and make sure you exit out. Save the game straight away as soon as you exit. Now, close the game, reopen it. And now, when you go back inside area 20, the alpha Pokémon should be in the new spawn location. Now, this time, guide them to the entrance, and then exit the zone, and save the game. Close the game once again, and reopen it. Those two new alpha Pokémon should now have their new spawn location right beside the entrance. Now, in order to spawn more alpha Pokémon in the middle of the area again and have up to six different alpha Pokémon at the same time, you will have to run back just below 60 m and then save the game and close it. Reopen it. And now those two Pokémon are locked inside the entrance area whilst two new alpha Pokémon will now spawn in the middle of the area. Repeat the same process of bringing the two new alpha Pokémon to the riverream and then guide them to the entrance. Hard save, reboot the game, and literally the same process as we done with the first two alpha Pokémon. Do this for all six alpha Pokémon within the day and night cycle. You have 16 realtime minutes to pull this off. If you faint during this process or the day and night cycle starts, you will have to redo everything. So, make sure you do this as fast and efficiently as possible. Once you have all six alpha Pokémon at the entrance, exit the zone and hard save right there. This is a very important step. Now, enter the zone and just faint. Literally, just faint. Let the Pokémon take you out. And you should respawn in the Pokémon Center which you flown to at the start. Now, once you go inside the zone, there will now be six random alpha Pokémon that will constantly spawn in the middle of the area. And yes, the Pokémon will be random every single spawn, which means if you walk away far enough and come back, the majority of the Pokémon will most likely be different. Now, there’s a bench right beside the middle area, which you can use to AFK shiny hunt these alphas. I personally use the turbo controller for this method and attach a rubber band to the left side of my joystick, whilst the controller constantly presses the button A by itself. I went away for 45 minutes, made food, and came back. And a shiny Alpha Drag spawned in. And also a regular shiny Garbodor, if anyone cares. Of course, the longer you have your controller AFK, the more chance you have of more shiny alphas spawning in. And you can have up to six shiny alpha Pokémon at the same time. But it’s not as easy as it sounds, especially when you have a dementarita blasting a solar beam to your face. Oh wow. Good. Now that Chikorita is gone, we could finally focus on exploit. Once I had all my alpha Pokémon at the gate, it was time to sacrifice myself to them. Ra, that sounds mad, but it had to be done. [Music] [Music] because now my sacrifice had spawned five new alpha Pokémon in the middle of the wild zone, including an alpha Scracrafty. And all I had to do was constantly go back and forth the wild zone, respawning the five alphas until I got a shiny. But unfortunately, the wrong sort of shiny appeared. I do already have a shiny garbodor in my box, but it is cool. So, I take another one. Unless obviously it decides to use explosion. And that’s where for some reason I decided to run away. But the thing is, I didn’t realize it used explosion because when I was coming back around to catch it, it fainted and disappeared. And I was standing there wondering why. Two hours later. Yep. That behind me was a shiny Aggron. And that was genuinely my face when I saw it. You see, Aggron is actually also one of my favorite Pokémon. And I’m not just saying that. My favorite Pokémon card ever made is an Aggron EX from the 2000 set Crystal Guardians. And I love it so much I even painted one for my wall. So yeah, I I do like Aggron a lot. Plus, catching this Aggron would mean I get to complete one of my free alpha Pokémon for my team. So, as one would say, it’s time. Oh [ __ ] This Aggron was a lot harder to catch than I anticipated. I had to sneak up around it and basically knock it out before catching it. But in the end, we prevailed and I got myself a shiny Alpha Aggron. Wait, hold on a second. A mega shiny Alpha Aggron. [Music] Even though I should have moved on from trying to catch an alpha shiny Scrafty, I still had quite a bit of time left for this challenge. So, I decided to test out my luck again with the alpha spawners. I got teased quite a few times until eventually a random shiny Roser raid appeared. I’m not too keen on the regular Roserade, but the shiny version is just too good to pass up on. Those black and pink flowers look so good. huge fan of this shiny and especially because it’s green and also with rose rays poison and grass typing it would be a valuable asset to my team for the DLC. It wasn’t something I was after but I mean if it’s there I might as well utilize it being there. So after cashing rose raid I decided to continue my luck with alpha crafty. I know I should have just left it for now but guys the next shiny alpha Pokémon did not disappoint. [Music] That, my friends, is a shiny Alpha Alaka Zam. One of the rarest shinies in the game. And yep, I had it right in front of me. And since I didn’t have a psychic type Pokémon on my team yet, this was a perfect opportunity to add something special to my team. It took me a few attempts to try and knock it down because Alakazam is very strong. And finally, after hitting it several times, I threw a hill ball at it and finally caught myself one of the rarest shinies in the entire game. A mega alpha shiny Alakazam. [Music] It actually doesn’t get better than that. Now that I had literally rinsed zone 20, I finally decided to step away and head over to a zone which has a very infamous alpha magikarp. This zone has loads of Magikarps about. But this specific area spawns in an alpha Magikarp during the daytime and a star me during the night time. So my next mission was to try and hunt for that alpha Magikarp. And I was going to use AFK bench method to try and catch this beast. And so I went to bed and left my controller to do the work. I am whispering just because um yeah, it’s late at night. I don’t want to wake anyone up. So I’ve got my AirPods, my water bottle, and my uh half a pen lid that’s basically nearly broken, some cellar tape, obviously my controller. There you go. I’m going to put on my eye mask on my face and just sleep. And hopefully, as I said, if I wake up and I got a shiny magic cup, this has been a successful shiny hunt. And yes, I count to the time I was in bed towards the challenge. All right. Hi again, guys. I was awake and it was time to see if Arus blessed me with a shiny Alpha Magikarp. Yeah, it wasn’t a great start to the morning, but it doesn’t mean we didn’t get a shiny. It was time to check the rest of the zone for any shinies I might have spawned. And as soon as I entered, I saw a regular shiny Magikarp. It wasn’t an alpha hours after, but I mean, it’s still a shiny Magikarp. Let’s not belittle the fact that it actually spawned in. I’m very grateful for that. And that was not the only shiny Magikarp about either. It was time to catch both of the fishies. And this time, I was actually going to use some cool Pokéballs. I used a sport ball on the first shiny Magikarp. and a repeat ball on a second one. I know that catch was too cool. I know. Yeah, I felt cool catching that mid there. So, now that I had obtained two shiny Magikarps, it was time to level them both up. Well, one of them and evolve them. Well, evolve one of them, sorry, into Gyarados. Oh, look how cute he is. my little Gowi Gowi. And now I had only one shiny Pokémon remaining to catch. With just over 10 hours remaining for the challenge, what I done next was not the smartest thing to do. I decided to go back and test out my luck again with trying to spawn a shiny Alpha Scray. And I thought to myself, whilst I try and obtain a shiny Alpha Scray, I could potentially run into some other alpha shinies as well. And looking at the Pokedex, I kind of wanted a fire type for my team, or at least a Pokémon that knows at least one firet type move. Chandela, Talon, Flame, Flareon, or even Garchomp and Dramp were a very all good picks for my next shiny alpha Pokémon. So, I hunted day and night through rain, through fog, through the cold, bitter nights to the warm rays of sunshine. I was hunting through it all, spending about 4 hours trying to hunt for a shiny, and nothing actually appeared apart from this. [Music] I continued to shiny hunt the alpha crafty, hoping after hours of trying that I would eventually get one. But no, I encountered so many alpha scrafties. I even had two at the same time at one point and no shiny in sight. I was contemplating giving up and trying a new method, but I stuck to the zone 20 roots and continued to persevere. I spent the next hour looking for shinies, and nothing seemed to spawn in. I thought it was a bug or I was just unlucky. But this wasn’t the case at all. You see, at this point, I gave up and went to restart the zone by defeating all the alphas in the middle of the area. And when I sent out my Charizard to take out the Frostlass, there was something shiny next to it. That, my friends, was a shiny alpha pavilion. And all this time, it was actually right in front of me and I didn’t even notice. Hence why it was a lot harder to spawn in shinies during that time. And so I took everyone out and caught myself a shiny alpha pavilion. But this wasn’t going on my team. As nice as Vavillion is, I don’t care for it. So I continued to hunt for more shinies. And guess what? A shinies crafty spawned. Not an alpha, but it was another shiny Scrafty. So, I left it for a bit, continued doing whatever, and I came back a few minutes later to catch him. But still, no shiny alpha Pokémon was in sight towards completing my team. At this point, I was getting kind of annoyed, especially when I found another shiny Pidgey. Bye-bye. But what annoyed me the most is that the game decided it was okay to give me another shiny Alakazam. Look, I’m not complaining. As I said, it’s one of the rarest shinies in the game. But come on, I’m trying to complete my challenge, not catch double shinies of everything. At this point, I should have just called Alakazam, but I was so annoyed at everything that I exited the game and rerolled the alphas. And guess what? A few moments later, another regular shiny crafty. I mean, at this point, they should have just blessed me with an alpha by now, but no, no, no, no, no. It’s okay. I spent the next hour once again trying to hunt for the last shiny alpha for my team. And I came across a shiny alpha Tangaskan. [Music] And although it looks so cool, I couldn’t put it on my team because it wasn’t what I was after. So, unfortunately, I exited the game and continued to look for a different shiny Alpha in addition to a shiny Alpha Scrafty. I really wanted a shiny Garop or some sort of strong Pokémon, and that’s where I came across this, an alpha shiny Machamp. And guys, remember at the start of the video while I was saying how much time I spent shiny hunting Machops and Machokes because I enjoyed the shiny? Well, now I came face to face with a shiny Alpha Machamp. This was crazy. And not only did I just find one of my favorite shinies in the game, but I also realized that Machamp can learn the moves ice and fire punch, giving him very good coverage against dragon types, grass types, and many more. So, it was a perfect spot to add Machamp to my team, especially since I already had a regular shiny Machamp on my playthrough. [Music] That was six Pokémon complete, [Music] three alphas, and three regular shinies. But I kind of wanted to test out my luck with a shiny car shop, as I still had just over an hour left for the shiny hunt. So, I travel to zone 8 where there is an exploit which allows you to take out an alpha drill bur from the zone and drag him all the way to 100 m away from the zone and back. Shout out to Panfro Games for this guide. His content is amazing, guys. So, go check him out. And so, because I was able to exploit this alpha drill, it was essentially going to allow me to get a guaranteed gibble spawn every time I fly into the zone. At first, I thought it was working, but then after the third time entering the zone, there wasn’t any gibble in sight. So, I knew something was wrong. I tried to manipulate the exploit again, but it still wasn’t working. I checked the comment section on Panfro’s video, and everyone seemed to be having the same issue. And there wasn’t any known solution to fixing the issue of where we all were going wrong. So, I just continued to search for shiny Gibble anyways. And eventually, my timer was up and I had found nothing. Although there was no shiny Gibble in sight, there was a solid team right in front of me, standing strong, ready to take on a Mega Dimension DLC. And I was happy with this outcome. Although I will be back for that shiny alpha scrafty at some point in the future. Guys, I hope you enjoyed the video.
