The Mansions DLC Just Got Some BAD News…But There Is A NEW GTA 6 Update!
Unfortunately, I’ve got some bad news to talk about regarding the mansions DLC that’ll be arriving next month in Grand Theft Auto Online. Let’s dive into it. So, this seemingly came out of nowhere when Rockstar Games Insider TZ Funds 2 put out this on social media. Spanish and Korean translations of this article suggest we are receiving three new mansions in total. That does not sound very good at all. Now, I know there was no guarantee on how many different mansions we were supposed to get, but Rockstar by default already has so many beautiful luxury properties, whether it’s the iconic ones like the Playboy Mansions or just beautiful houses in the Vinewood Hills or along the Vespuchi Beach Boulevard. There’s so many of them, even some that are out there kind of in Sandy Shores and even Grape Seed. Uh there’s so many cool properties that we could potentially earn, but it looks like there’s now only three in total. Now, there was a little bit more followup to that as someone said just three. None of the others in Vinewood will be for sale. And he said literally not new. We know of the two construction sites. The third one could be Devon Weston’s mansion becoming purchasable. So, that is extremely disappointing. And I agree that it’s very likely going to be those three spots because we know that the new missions have us starting at Devon Weston’s place. And so because of that, that sounds like a logical mansion for us to purchase. They’ll probably have to come up with some lore or backstory why Devon Weston is no longer a resident of his mansion. Maybe they’ll provide some context there. Rockstar have updated the story via Grand Theft Auto Online a pretty good bit in the past, but that’s just a little bit disappointing because I thought Rockstar would have given us more. Now, as far as what the actual translation says, this is what it looks like. And in Spanish, this is what it says. The real estate company Pricks Luxury goes with everything. In December, it’ll add three luxury mansions to this lucrative market. So that unfortunately I think confirms it that there’s only going to be three mansions. Now while on the surface that’s pretty disappointing, we have to give Rockstar the benefit of the of the doubt that they could be doing something more with these mansions. Maybe these mansions are going to serve sort of as a front for some sort of other operation that might be taking place. Maybe it leads us to another heist. Maybe it leads us to another business deal. And therefore, the mansion’s really just to get you started and to sort of satisfy the need of being able to buy a mansion. But if indeed like the big selling point is just like, hey, here’s your big mansion and that’s it, that’s going to be extremely disappointing. So, it’ll be something to monitor, that’s for sure. Now, to play devil’s advocate here, this could just be a simple translation error, and maybe it isn’t three properties, but we have seen stuff like this in the past where the translated versions of the newswires have given us a little bit more details than just the typical English version. So, I am inclined to believe it and it makes sense just given we’ve got like the two already pre-built construction sites in game and then of course the entire thing taking place at Devon Weston’s. Uh, it makes sense that there’s only three of them. Now, it also makes you wonder, can you buy all three of them, like own all three of the available mansions, or will you only be able to purchase one of them? Again, only time will tell. When I’m recording this video, it’s Wednesday, November 19th. Uh, Rockstar haven’t given us any further updates on this DLC. Maybe they will tomorrow on Thursday when they put out their new newswire post. Or maybe they’ll wait a little bit closer to December 9th when the update itself comes out. If I was a betting man, honestly, I would say that because Devin Weston’s mansion is the furthest from the city, it might actually be the cheapest option. And it might be the cheapest option because it’s already a pre-built one. Uh the ones that are going to be closer to the city will be more newish options, I guess you could say. Uh considering they’ve got the construction site props and whatnot. So again, it’ll be very interesting to see. A little bit disappointing news here, that’s for sure. Now, on a slightly separate topic, but also related to the mansions DLC, it seems like Rockstar might have actually put some Grand Theft Auto 6 related stuff in the three teaser missions leading up to it. So, for those of you guys that don’t know, we got three mansion teaser missions. They’re called new listings. There’s three of them in total. They give you actually a ton of money, some bonuses, discounts, and more on when the properties do actually arrive. But this came from another Rockstar Games insider on social media, Lucas 7 Yoshi, who said, “Fun detail noticed by Rolshcha 2282. The underwear and pants that appear when climbing out of the laundry in Faber’s second mission are likely from Grand Theft Auto 6. Their textures are more consistent with Red Dead Redemption 2/GA 6’s style than GTA 5. Explanation below.” And this actually takes a little bit of explaining of how this was actually found. You guys might remember that Lucas 7 Yoshi was actually going through some of the interesting details of these missions. Like for example, Rackstar Games added an invisible ramp in the mission where you’re supposed to push like the cargo stuff into the water to make it a little bit easier. They also put a pool cover over Devon Weston’s pool, but it was actually just a bunch of fences lined on top of each other. And this got the data miners talking with Dominic or Rolshia saying, “I had no idea there are fences with tarps in this game.” And not going to lie, that’s such a hack job, it’s almost funny. Lucas saying, “Hey, it fooled me.” And I looked at it and I thought, “I don’t remember any new props for that in this update.” And he responded by saying, “Same here. I spent looking at dozens of prop in the update to find it. Just found clothing textures with GTA 6 naming though, like bra, underwear, jeans, and chino pants.” And for most of us, this is probably not going to make sense. So, this is where Lucas 7 Yoshi essentially breaks things down for us to understand in normal terms. Going on to say, “Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6 use PBR rendering. They also use a new system for characters called metapeds.” Subsequently, the clothing assets texture naming changed quite a lot. Below is comparisons of normal GTA 5 naming, Red Dead Redemption 2’s naming, and the boxers, which have naming more in line with Red Dead Redemption 2/GA 6. So, leave it to The Mansions update and the teaser to The Mansions update to give us our first look at GTA 6 clothing outside of the leaked footage that came out in 2022. That is absolutely wild. That is not what I thought I was going to be talking about at the end of this video, but sure enough, we are. It also is a great segue to talk about. Hopefully, there’s going to be some sort of GTA 6 teaser or treasure hunt or Easter egg in this next update. Even though the game was delayed to November 19th, 2026, I feel like this is still an opportunity for Rockstar to do some cross collaboration here. Considering it might be the final big update before GTA 6 arrives, uh Rockstar typically save their larger updates for December. And if things currently stand, next November we’ll be playing Grand Theft Auto 6, so we won’t have a big December DLC. So, I know there was a lot going on in this video, but I wanted to sort of tie a whole bow on it, wrap it all up. That’s all I’ve got for you guys in this video today.
