New DLC? Mystery Dino? Update 1.2 News – Jurassic World Evolution 3
Hello everyone and welcome to another Jurassic World Evolution 3 video where today we’re going to be discussing the the little bit of a trailer that came out for update 1.2. So, there’s a lot of cool stuff in here including a mystery dinosaur as well as mist improvements to the island generator and a couple other things that are coming in the update. But we also have a little bit of an image to look at that might be teasing a complimentary DLC to this update or at least sometime in December because yeah it it runs along the lines of um a possible DLC tease. So let’s take a look. So kicking it off, we’ll just take a look at the image. So it reads data points found new discoveries imminent. So, it it sounds like a new DLC, like new discoveries plural. Um, I’m assuming that is relating to a new DLC. What that DLC is, we don’t quite know. But given the sort of themes of this whole update might be wetland thing. We could potentially assume a semi-aquatic DLC. However, um, we could also assume an Asia DLC. Now the image is blurry but it does look like there is a dinosaur behind there and the colors don’t really ring any bells for me. Now of course we cannot make out any sort of proportions but it could be a therapod. Um but it also could be a hydrosaur um like Shantangosaurus maybe. Um I’m just trying to look at it and see what I can make out. So, if it were to be a semi-aquatics DLC, we would expect animals that can swim. Um, so potentially a new Spinosaur like Iritator, ichthyvenator, um, Oxalia, something of the sort. Um, potentially Ostroaptor, that could be a a qualifier for this pack. Um, as it is a Pacifus Droiosaur, so it’s possible. Um, I’d also hope for Hesperonis, a bird, a seabird from the lake Cretaceous that spent much of its life in water. So, that would be a really cool addition. Um, potentially a crocodile. So, a large um prehistoric crocodil form like Dino Sucus, Sarasucus. Um, any of those two I’d prefer um over anything else. Um, Titanoboa would be insane if we got that. Um, or Vuki Indicus if we were to get a snake. Um, but yeah, if that was to be a semi-aquatic DLC, I’d be pretty happy with it. Um, otherwise a Asia DLC, I could certainly imagine Yanguanosaurus, uh, Shantangosaurus, um, maybe, uh, what’s it what’s it name? Um, there was a species of mosasaur from Japan that I saw people suggesting. Um, Megarigius. That’s it. That would be really fun. Um, to get a new marine animal. Um, and maybe Shunosaurus as well, a sorapod from the late Jurassic period that sported a lot a club at the end of its tail. Um, though it doesn’t look like this update’s adding sorapod or hydrasaur combat. So, it’s sort of the reason why I’m sort of leaning back from the Asia DLC and more towards the semi-aquatic DLC because I feel like it would line up better with the themes of this update. And if we were were to get a new Spinosaur, that would be absolutely incredible because, well, we have not had one since Barionics was added to the Fallen Kingdom update in Evolution 1. So yeah, let me know your thoughts on this image, what what DLC this could be, and yeah, leave those thoughts down in the comments. So, we’re getting a whole new wetland brush in the wetlands tab of the foliage brush. So, this is made up of large cypress trees. So, really evoking an Everglades southern United States um atmosphere. But this brush comes with a a nice bonus and that is a a fairly light mist that um flows through the forest. So for anyone who was missing the mist from Jurassic World Evolution 2 in the Bison Valley, mist is returning. And I think the forest that they filmed Bison Valley in that was supposed to evoke um a lot of I think that did they film that in Florida or something somewhere where there were bald cypress trees. But yeah, these cypress trees and the mist within within it um will be a really great brush to add to any wetland habitat and really create such a nice atmosphere cuz you can even have fairly large breaks in it and the mist can just flow through. So that would be really nice because like you can um alter the intensity. So even at the lowest intensity, the mist will still be there. So that’s going to be really nice. Um but yeah, mist is back. Now we get on to possibly my favorite part of the update, and that’s improvements to the island generator. So the island generator at launch was fairly limited. So, we we could only build in the tropical biome and had a selection of shapes and um like a number of alterations we can make to that island, but now we have a few more. So, we now have three extra um biomes that we can choose from being the temperate, the Mediterranean, and the desert biomes. So, all those biomes can have an island um made within them. But also we have a beaches tab that’s been added where you can determine how many beaches are on your island. How and that in turn affects how many cliffs are on your island. Most of the islands now are fairly cliffy. So being able to add more beaches will really create a natural gradient for the islands a lot more so than having just this sheer cliff face for almost the whole way round. But yeah, th this features tool will be really really useful. And an added bonus is that the barrier the like obstructed barriers of these maps have been altered now um well on December 9th when this update comes out. So we are able to build on the cliffs and in the waters um that form with the island um as well as um dinosaurs being able to actually move onto those beaches. So can really create a nice seaside atmosphere for a lot of dinosaurs. And yeah, that’s going to be really fun to see in the game. But yeah, this is probably my favorite improvement. We also get a new blueprints tab, which is a nice quality of life change, making the blueprints much easier to find. And they are separated into their three categories: buildings, scenery, modules, and I I think that was all of them. Yeah. Um but yeah, just making them a lot more easy to access and yeah, will be very helpful. We also have a path copy tool. Now, this is a very good change because you want to be able to make make the paths fairly cohesive across your an area of your park if you’re designing it. And so this path copy tool, you’ll be able to copy that path directly um from where you had it previously and add it um however else you wanted to rather than having to go in and search for the color that you used because frankly you’re not going to remember the color that you used exactly. So being able to copy the path helps match parks up so much better and will be very handy. We also have a new dinosaur obstructions management view. So this view will give you an idea of where dinosaurs are able to traverse. So you have four categories. Small, medium, large, and giant. So your giant dinosaurs would be your animals like your soraods. Large would be the baby soraods. Medium would be just about everything else. Um, and small, of course, would be sort of your scavengers and probably your raptors and other small carnivores and small herbivores. But yeah, that’s going to be really um really handy in trying to create a habitat in a great level of detail, but also making sure that your dinosaurs are actually able to move through that area. And yeah, that will be just very useful for making more heavily detailed areas and those that dinosaurs can still actually traverse. You can have a really good control of where your dinosaurs are going. And now the big one, the returning dinosaur that is also coming in this update. So we don’t get a good look at it, but we do see its foot and the shadow of a rather feathery tail. So given this is a wetlands update and that the feet look identical, I am saying this is Dinoyus. And yeah, it’s it’s definitely Dinoyus. So yeah, Dinoyus is I I’m I’m 100% confident that that is the foot and that is the tail that creates the shadow. So Dinoyus is coming back for free. So, the DLC dinosaurs um thanks to uh a lot of pining on the Discord because once when the base game animals were announced to be coming back for free, let’s just say um people on in the Jurassic Evolution 3 community were a little bit miffed and thought that the DLC animals uh would be u paid for once again, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. So, Dino Kyrus is coming back for free in this update. So, it it it I’m assuming the other missing DLC animals will um follow a similar pattern and will be coming back in a similar way. So, really nice to see that these all the animals from Jurassic Evolution 2 will be coming back for free at this point. like this isn’t definitive, but I’m fairly confident that is the case given how many people are opposed to having to pay for the animals once again. So, yeah, Frontier seems to be learning their lesson and will be um providing a lot of these animals for free and should lead to a lot of free updates, honestly. like there are that many species from Jurassic World Evolution 2 that were cut and that still need to make a return that yeah, we can get quite a few updates which is going to be really nice and only a few of those updates will um complement a DLC and potentially that could be the pattern. So DLC updates will have a DLC dinosaur in them. So that that could be the pattern. like this one looks to be uh coinciding with the DLC release and you have a DLC dinosaur and that pattern could repeat on and on through Jurassic Evolution 3’s lifespan because there are quite a few DLC dinosaurs uh well not all dinosaurs but DLC species that are missing. So you have stuff like Oralovvenator, you have Gigantoaptor, Tarbosaurus, Noasaurus, Shonosaurus, Archalon. All those species should return alongside a DLC in my in my mind at least. Other species like Majungasaurus and Pachy Rhinosaurus, I feel like those will coincide with the Chaos Theory DLC simply because those species are in Chaos Theory. Um, and so we could expect two species at once. U, which would be really good and a good way to get as many species back in a short amount of time. Um, though it will take a lot of work, of course. Um, but yeah, Dinoarus I am pretty sure is that animal. But it’s it does the animal doesn’t have the feet of Gigantoaptor. And there are only so many feathered dinosaurs, large feathered dinosaurs in the game that aren’t already in the base game. So it’s not Utaraptor. It’s not Utarannis. And it’s not Theosinosaurus. Um, and certainly doesn’t have Gigantoaptor’s feet. And yeah, that this is the match. I’m just saying it. Um, but yeah, really excited for this update. Lots of good stuff is coming in it. So, let me know what feature you are most excited for in update 1.2. So, there’s a lot of new features. The wetland brush with the mist, dinoyus, uh, island generator improvements, the new quality of life changes. Let me know which one is your favorite down in the comments, and I will see you in the next one. Oh, and also, what do you think that DLC is? Let me know in the comments as well.
Update 1.2 is coming on the 9th of December and we have a trailer to look at that is showing what is coming to the game in this update. We also have an image that may be teasing Evolution 3’s first post-launch DLC.
