8 ESSENTIAL Tips For Elden Ring Nightreign DLC! | The Forsaken Hollows
All right, what’s going on, guys? So, the DLC for Elden Ring Night Reign: The Forsaken Hollows has been out for a few days now. And while it’s not a very long DLC, only adding two new expeditions, there’s a lot of people out here still struggling because these bosses are tough. The map is a maze and very confusing, and it feels like everything’s been turned up to 11 here. So, today I want to go through eight essential tips you really need to know for the Forsaken Hollows. going to be going over some stuff with the new nightfares, tips for the map, general best practices, and even if you’ve already beaten both bosses, you’re still going to want to watch this video because you might learn something new. So, as we get started today, as always, if you want to stay uptoate on all things Elden Ring Night Re, go ahead and hit that subscribe button. And now, let’s get into it. So, let’s start off with some tips on the map. Now, if you’re loading into the Great Hollow, even if you’ve been playing it for a minute now, it is probably still extremely confusing. And depending on which spawn point you get, you could be at a big advantage or big disadvantage. Now, fortunately, one of the spawn points you can get drops you right into a base of Caden soldiers. And one of the other spawn points isn’t very far. Now, there is a spawn that puts you on the complete opposite side of the map, and you’re not close to any bases. But if you do get Caden soldiers nearby, absolutely go there as soon as possible. They’re easily dispatched at level one, and this is a great way to get the ball rolling super early, get some decent loot, and a good amount of runes. Now, there’s another spawn that I’ve had a few times for balancers that puts you near a sleep cathedral with lots of Karan enemies and two abductor virgins. Now, chances are you’re going to look at this and think, “Absolutely not. No way I’m fighting that, especially at level one or level two.” But hang on, you might want to. And that’s because while you’re fighting the Abdu virgins, they’re going to be swinging around their sickles and killing all the other enemies, giving you lots of runes. But the other plus side to this is that when you kill these abductor virgins, they’re not going to drop a boss reward. But what they will drop is lots of weapons. And I think each of them drops three weapons varying in rarity. One of them dropped several blues for me, but the other dropped a Giza’s Wheel and Vah’s bouquet, which was perfect for this run. But before you leave that location, make sure to check the chest around the area, specifically if you’re fighting balancers, because you can load up on sleep grease, which the balancers are incredibly weak to. So, be sure to keep these two tips in mind as you spawn. Now, part of what makes this map so confusing is that it doesn’t have a lot of POIs, especially not many marked on your map, and that is very detrimental in Night Rain because it throws off your route and makes it hard to pick out where you want to go next. Now, to compensate for that, this map is full of field bosses, and this is where a majority of your runes are going to come from. This is what you want to be looking out for, especially these lesser field bosses on the first day. Now, on the first day, they’re not going to be marked on your map, but always look out for big open spaces. I know, of course, not everybody has all the field boss spawns memorized yet, but generally you can tell if there’s a big open space, there’s probably a field boss there. Now, in addition to that, your knights are generally going to end on the higher levels of the map. So, what you want to do is go down pretty early and work your way back up because you absolutely do not want to get trapped at the bottom of this and all your routes to get back to the top are in the storm. You will die. And then, of course, on night two, all the field bosses are going to be marked on your map. So, just go rush those as fast as you can, working your way bottom to top, and you should hit level 15 and have really good loot. And I’ve seen a lot of people asking, is it even possible to hit level 15 on this map? Yes, it is. You don’t even have to know the layout that much. If you go out and seek out as many field bosses as possible, especially on night two. Key phrase here, working bottom to top, you should have no problem hitting level 15. Now, as you begin to learn the map more, one thing you’re going to want to keep your eye out for are these big blue crystals. There should be about eight of them around the map. And every time you see one, go up to it and interact with it. This will cause the crystal to resonate, and you’ll get a prompt at the bottom of your screen saying, “The great crystal cracks.” This is the key to unlocking the power of the shifting earth in the great hollow. Now, fortunately, you only need to find four of these around the map. And once you do, it will say the great crystal shatters. Another good thing about this is that all of these crystals will be marked on your map on night two. However, I highly recommend looking for as many as you can on night one. Then you just make your way over to the great crystal and you can collect the power in the center. Now, what this power does is makes your art gauge refill much faster after you’ve used all your sacred flasks. But the real reason you want to do this is because located at the north and south of the great hollow are two big castle forts. Now, normally when you explore these forts, your health is going to be hald, which makes it very hard and very inefficient because these are full of boss fights. Now, the reason I say you want to get this done as early as possible is because you can take a spirit spring straight from the crystal up to the tower where you will then have a multi-stage boss rush up to the top. And now that you have the power of the crystal, your health will no longer be hald. Now, if you’re super efficient and manage to get here before the night closes in, this is a fantastic way to get a ton of runes and super rare loot. So, if you do manage to complete it, you probably can’t ask for a better run. Now, here’s probably the best tip I can give you if you’re really struggling with the great hollow, and that is simply to put on a different shifting earth and go play on limb. You’ll know this map like the back of your hand. You can get level 15 super easily and extremely good loot if you’re doing something like Nateo or the crater and a power that’s going to save your life in the boss fight. What I did and what I really recommend doing is just playing on Limld while you learn the night lord boss fights. That way, you actually know what to expect. You know how the fight’s going to go. And even if you have a really inefficient run in the Great Hollow, you’ll still be able to make up for it with strategy. And you’ll unlock better relics for the new nightfares, be able to start their remembrance quests, all that good stuff. And it’s also worth doing because Limbeld is going to be a bit different with these new night lords. There are new events that can happen, such as what we’ll talk about next. If you’re playing on Limbld, you’ll have a chance of an invasion happening where a chill mist moves in and hail begins to fall. This is Caliggo’s invasion, and what it does is mark a point on your map that you’ll need to travel to. Now, here it was only day one, so I was kind of panicking because I’m level four. I don’t want to fight Caliggo at level four. But hang on, if you get this invasion, this is actually a blessing in disguise because all you have to do is just travel over to the zone and find Caliggo inside the fog where she will then wake up and fly away. There’s no fighting involved. It gives you a ton of runes, and you gain the power of cold mirage, which will save your life one time and create a fog around you that makes enemies have a harder time following up. And here’s what that looks like when it activates. It sends out a cloud of mist and then you become invisible when otherwise you would have died. Super powerful. So, if you get the Caliggo Invasion, make sure you do that ASAP. One of the new night two bosses that can happen in this DLC is Moog. This is not ordinary Moog. This is a much harder, much more aggressive, and much more powerful version. And he even has his knee heal from the base game, which you may be wondering, how do you counter it? Because you don’t have the wondrous physic like you do. And even I, in my review, was wondering if it was even possible to dodge this attack. Well, it turns out the wondrous physic actually is in the game. And there are two ways to get it. One way is to find it in bleed camps, where I’ve heard it can be found sitting on top of a pedestal. The other way is to purchase it from Libra when he appears on your map, which does happen in the great hollow. So, that’s going to make your life a whole lot easier in the fight against Moog. And if you’re hunting the balancers and you get Cursed Blade and Divine Beast Warrior on night one, go get that physic. You’re going to need it. Here’s just a super quick tip for Scholar. Don’t forget, as you’re using your skill to analyze enemies, when you get it charged up all the way, you can then release an explosion that’s going to knock down light enemies, parry big enemies, and do a big chunk of damage, which is super useful in a combat situation. You don’t always have to do this from super far away, and it charges faster the closer you are to enemies. Undertaker has a secret ability where if both your skill and ultimate are charged at the same time, you can hold down the skill activation to consume your ultimate art gauge and get a period of auto dodge where you’re basically invincible and the game automatically dodges all attacks for you. Now, is it worth using up your art gauge? I don’t know. Maybe if you have some super good weapons and you can get more damage off from attacks than your ultimate would do. But for a character that’s already as strong as Undertaker is, this just makes her even more powerful and it’s good to know to keep in the back if you ever want to use it. And the final tip I have today is as you’re adventuring through the Great Hollow, do not forget to check chests and corpses because the drop rate for good loot seems to be much higher. As you can see me pulling out a godslayer greatsword from this chest here. And I’ve heard drops overall seem to be much higher in the great hollow. So, be sure to loot as much as you can rather than only relying on boss drops. Anyway though, guys, those are eight essential tips you need to know for the Forsaken Hollows.
