New Mega Pokemon Stats Pokemon Legends ZA DLC Megas
Welcome back, Wolfpack. Verless here with the stat breakdown of the new mega Pokemon in the Pokemon Legends EA DLC, where some of these are insane and most of them are really underwhelming and just make me think, why? Like Mega Tatsugiri. So, we mega evolve this boy and we get 135 special attack, 125 special defense. That’s it. What is it really just an excuse to make this? Like, was it all design? We already have the sushi Pokemon. So like taking that into sushi platter isn’t even justifiable. But all right, Mega Tatsugiri. And then I was thinking, what about regular Tatsugiri? How does this compare? Do we get anything out of it? Uh it’s 120 special attack and then like we get some speed. We just get little stats everywhere. So unless it’s ability is like supreme commander and it gives Dondo plus three to everything. Is it supposed to be that now we have Mega Dondozo with Commander and that’s like some secret thing that’s going to come out with Pokemon champions? Uh, does order up give plus to everything based on like all three Tatsugiri? I don’t know. And then just as a Pokemon nasty plotting of 135. No. Uh, it has Dragon Dance, which is also why I was confused by just the so low attack boost on the Mega Tatsu. like, oh, it gets 100 attack and 100 speed and maybe it can dragon dance. But no, I I don’t I don’t get it. I don’t know what it’s supposed to do. So, it seems like that’s going to be some wild gimmick added into Pokemon champions or it’s just not meant to be competitive for whatever reason. Uh, Mega Meow Stick more of the same where 124 speed, 143 special attack really doesn’t mean anything. And because it can like start prankster 101 special defense just always have like it has underwhelming stats because of prankster because Game Freak’s design and balance philosophy doesn’t make any sense that they’ll make overtuned legendaries and crazy new power creep Pokemon that you can’t even imagine. But then they don’t let other Pokemon be good even though they have like gimmicks and specific design. Shinotic, I think, is a big example where, oh, strength sap was one of the craziest moves ever introduced in Pokemon. Is one of the most powerful moves ever. Also getting spore, but has no stats. So, it’s not Amongus 2.0. It’s not power creep Amongus, which would be terrible for the game. And then also has the worst type combo. So, just a completely useless, never viable Pokemon. But they gave it crazy stuff. And that’s like the whole design of generation 8 and generation 9 is every Pokemon has a signature something but then it’s deliberately undertuned or deliberately overtuned and then there’s no balance in the game. So prankster Pokemon have just been decided to never allow to be too strong cuz prankster is such a crazy ability and then you mega it and they still don’t give anything. Is this just going to get like psychic terrain and be mega and ddi? I don’t know. Uh then we got Heatran Dark Cry Zerora stats from like the initial data mine and and leaks and stuff. Heatran uh what now? Now we’re getting into busted territory. Now it’s like wait 91 106 141. Okay, that’s a three hit KO Pokemon with 175 special attack and it’s not meant to have any speed. So you just go modest and then you really hurt everything. So, what makes or breaks Mega Pokemon the most is how the lack of item works with the Pokemon that some Pokemon they get the power fantasy stats and ability and they become viable. Other Pokemon, they’re just worse because they don’t have an item like Mega Garchomp. Mega Garchomp is just worse Garchomp made worse by not even having like item options to do anything with. So, an objective downgrade competitively with this like yeah, I don’t think that matters. And then some kind of ability could also be pretty wild as well. Dark cry is just a complete joke. Uh they made it bulky bruisery. I mean it looks that way, but still 70 hit points, 130 defense, 130 special defense. Just got to throw some things in attack to make it kind of look fair. And then 85 speed. So 165 special attack. Dark void’s nerfed just seems terrible. Also, it’s all fake because it’s a restricted Pokemon. And then we have Zera. 157 attack, 147 special attack, 153 speed. I I don’t get it. It’s like slightly better Mega Lucario, but Mega Lucario base, I hate that we have Z version now, so like the distinction can get muddy. It’s like, okay, just regular Mega Lucario was terrible. Actually, never good competitively even in generation 6. Anyone that lost to it was just a noob getting stomped. Mega Lucario was effectively your competitive check. If you are not scared of Mega Lucario anymore, congratulations. You’re now a decent competitive Pokemon player. So, this is just kind of that we’re like, okay, it goes mixed. It doesn’t matter because it’s a restricted Pokemon. And without item, like I don’t I don’t know what this does, but also like I don’t know how mega not not mega, regular Zerora even performs or how that stuff works. And then we have Mega Gar Chomp Z. This is ridiculous because 108 hit points with 85 on the defenses means we’re a two hit KO Pokemon. Like this is still really innately tanky and comparable to to S Valley. So just surviving most neutral hits. And then Pure Dragon. So you can’t just like chip any little ice attack and KO guard chomps. Like pure dragon is actually just really strong. And then we have 151 speed. So, it gets the choice scarf baked in while having 141 special attack for mixed, 130 attack. And the thing about Garchomp is rough skin isn’t a bad ability, but it’s also not a crazy powerful ability. It’s mostly just an annoyance. If you’re in a fist fight with another Pokemon or just kind of scrapping it out, that eating that rough skin hurts. If it’s a tank chomp and has Rocky helmet with the rough skin, you you have to really wear it down. but it’s also wearing you down more while having a threatening amount of offense in returns. Like it just tanks and then the amount of chip from the rough skin or rocky helmet just makes it to where Garchomp now has lethal on you. Cool. So with the Mega, if this gets any offensive power from its ability, it’s actually crazy. And then I don’t think the item really matters. But also, this Pokemon’s just going to trade. It outspeeds you, hits you, does 70%, takes 70%, and then just gets the KO. Now, a one for one trading poke. And then it also outspeeds the next thing and does a significant amount while freeing up the choice locking. Yeah, it’s going to do some crazy things. It’s not like the most potential of mega statwise, but again, if it if it actually gets anything that can make it one shot, it’s crazy. Also, you just use this bulk where you go jolly, max speed, swords dance, one-shot everything. Maybe it goes a hasty or a naive nature. And then you also have the Draco Meteor to finish off a kind of weakened physical wall. This is going to be an interesting Pokemon. It’s like mixed salamaments but even more optimized, but it does cost you your mega. Mega Absol is also where things get stupid. Okay, all the Z megas have 151 speed because that’s their gimmick. Actually, what does 151 speed even mean? So, we have to pull up like Electrode, which is 150, but it’s not too far off. And then we can compare that to something like Chin Pow. So, the problem with most of the new Mega Pokemon is that Mega Sweepers can’t exist because of Paradox Pokemon and also because of Ultra Beast where, okay, why would I run this Mega when Flutter exists and is just objectively better and Chinpow exists and is just a ridiculous Pokemon. So, 135 speed. Let’s go into all of our natures. is let’s tone this down to level 50. You should know the number competitive check. What is the speed tier for 135 at level 50? Of course, 205. So, this bring it down. And we can actually see like the numbers are already kind of weird. 202. So, adding one base stat point into that means we’re not power creeping 135. So, if all the time like you want to power creep or you want to do crazy things, mega is the time. Unless we were going to see every paradox, every legendary, every top 30 Pokemon in Scarland Violet just get absolutely destroyed by the banhammer for Pokemon champions. You are making mega. You make all this big deal. You bring back Mega just to make every Mega worse than a Paradox Pokemon or generation 9 or eight legendary. So actually these Pokemon can’t get away with like going adamant and then having just outspeeding everything while getting that bonus damage to make up for the lack of item which makes me wonder like okay mega absol like dark ghost fan service 154 attack but can’t survive a hit. So like 154 Jolly with no item is not an offensive threat at all unless it has again some kind like it just comes down to how much does game freak shatter the game on giving abilities. But even with Mega Beedril adaptability isn’t enough to make Mega Beedrill crazy with a comparable stat line. No matter even if you just push it by a couple points it’s not going to change anything. And then Mega Absolute Z gets one shot by everything. So what’s the point of the mega? And then Mega Starraptor is a complete joke. 859 190. This is just a regular modern generation 8 generation 9 Pokemon design. And compared to Starrafter, like I there’s no difference. It’s the same picture. We get plus 10 speed and then we get plus 20 attack and then we’re not like a pseudo legendary Pokemon even. It’s like just Yeah, any Pokemon just feels better than us. And Starraptor is already like interesting and kind of viable because like reckless Starraptor with a scarf actually hurts. So Starraptor already has like a good ability for its play style and just needed better stats, but instead they made it a bulkier fighting type Pokemon. Whatever. Uh, the Mega Raichu also kind of look underwhelming where to keep up with modern Pokemon, you have to buff these Pokemon, then add 100 optimized mega stats on top of it. But then now we’re just power creeping power creep and that’s really bad. So this un using megas to unwind power creep is the craziest thing I could imagine Game Freak doing. But looks like they’re doing that. We’re like Mega Raichu X. I don’t know how crazy you can make its ability. 110 135 the evolution of the mascot of Pokemon instead of just making Mega Pikachu. Uh 160130 compelling or I play Flutter Man and I win the game. Food for thought and mega Lucario Z is just terrible. So 164 special attack flashbang warning. Let’s see what that means for damage calculations. So we’re going to move this over to 164. We’re going to go 252 and then we do no damage. And remember, if we go modest, well, now you know how happy a 135 speed Pokemon is to see a 7070. There’s probably some scarf Pokemon that are also feeling pretty good about that as well just to not KO SLI. And then even it’s so such under a KO that so many Pokemon are surviving this range. Uh what’s 80 95 looking fine? So like 8085 might find a neutral flash cannon KO sometimes. So it’s not even like that reliable. And then 8585 just survives. So yeah, you have to like you are just trading against the most frail of sweepers. What about Jolon? Jolon’s got that special defense on it. 6595 doesn’t survive. Oh wait, it survives 70% of the time. And I’m still giving Mega Lucario Z adaptability because that just kind of seems like the right play since it doesn’t have an item. You need to give it that effective life orb or something. So the aosphere on modest barely KO if it isn’t because you don’t want to get outsped by 135s. Then yeah, our damage doesn’t even KO a Jolon as mega Lucario Z, which is powercraft mega Lucario. And then Jolon has a 70% chance to KO it back with the Specs Thunderbolt. Specs Thunderbolt does more damage than the 164 special attack behind a 151 speed. Mega curbominable also baffling because we’re megaing just to get Glacier. So 157 122 107. What what’s what’s Glaierre again? Oh, my bad. We have we have uh 12 less attack and then we just have less defense and then 110 100 versus 107 97. So yeah, we are less tanky for 12 more attack and no item and no chilling a while also giving up our once per battle mega evolution. Mega Galopod gets weird. I imagine it’s not going to keep emergency exit. Also, where’s the mega archops that loses defeist? Game freak. Come on. So, we got bug steel. Ah, mega scissor or not even mega scissor. Just Scizor is a good strong Pokemon. But now we have competition. Do you run mega scissor or just swords dance and win the game? Or do you go Galisopod and then whatever this does? So, assuming no emergency exit, max hit points, max attack 1751 120. I don’t think there’s anything comparable to that, but it is an unboosted. So, like even if you’re a three KO Pokemon, you take a hit and then you don’t one-shot them and then you take a hit, you finish them off and then you get outsped and KO’ed and now you’re just a one for one mega Pokemon. Uh the first impression can be pretty neat. And the thing is like the emergency exit isn’t a complete nerf. That like choice band first impression you just keep tagging people with that kind of adds up and makes you more of an effective one for one Pokemon. gives you like reposition. Bug water is also a good typing though. So like now we have steel. So like what are we supposed to do with that and then comparing the stats it is a 125 attack so we were just worse and we already had the 140 defense. So like you look at mega glyopod stats and you think it’s crazy but then you realize galopod stats are crazy and people say it’s like nerfed by the emergency exit. But was it really? cuz that first impression like first impression takes 60%. It It’s better than just like getting outspot while you only get one rebuttal against the opposing Pokemon. And like close combat but not steel. So we don’t have stab there. Knock off leech life. So I guess that’s actually what this Pokemon wants. This Pokemon wants some ability that augments its leech life and then it just sticks around forever. Wait a second. Where have I Where have I heard this one before? Yeah. So, I mean, you don’t get folded by flying or special attacks at least. That’s It’s actually mega bossful. I I’m I’m mixed on this one. We’re going to have to see how it plays out. Megalyze Pod might be cracked, but it is four times weak to the fire. So, it does have a pretty exploitable weakness. And then being 4x on 40 speed means like what what random Pokemon with like 50 attack is just KOing you with a fire p or not 50 attack, 50 speed is KOing you with a fire punch? That’d be funny. Mega Meaga Mythicals don’t matter. It’s it has too many shenanigans to to worry about. Mega Chime. Is there a world where Chimeco is viable? Almost seems that way. How is it that other Pokemon get worse stat distributions than Chimeco? We’re like 110 120 75 not the greatest. 135 special attack usable. Am I using this over Flutter main? Not unless it gets prankster. And if it gets prankster, then what’s the point of mega Meowick or just Meow Stick existing or anything existing? I don’t know. Um yeah. So like could do something also that cosmic power like I think that’s what makes Chameo really good is that it has the cosmic power uh not chin chime and it can recover. So like that with the mega stat line means it can do something. And then what’s this nonsense? Mega Scillain. What what even was Scoville? Why? Why make like the most immediately forgettable awful Pokemon a mega? Why even design this in the first place? Why not? Like it’s just an evolution. Actually, the stats are just an evolution, which makes it even more insane. Like 586, you can do that. You can get away with that. Fine. There’s nothing threatening about 138 13875 when paradox Pokemon exist, when legendary Pokemon exist, when ultra beasts exist, when all these other things exist. You don’t have to mega to unlock that. The only way this Pokemon is viable is if it gets an ability called like super spicy sauce and it one-shots Pokemon that make contact with it or something. So that way like you at least trade. Mega Baxaliber. It’s a mega pseudo legendary 87 speed. It can dragon dance. I mean like yeah megas that can dragon dance. How do you balance that like this? I guess 105 special. Where does that put Vexcaliber? How much of the Why are you even making this if you have to throw like a third of your mega into special attack and then 9286 and then Yeah, it’s like 92 and then 86 and then that and no speed because that and you don’t really get to dragon dances and then you’re it’s just VC caliber with the same weaknesses and you took away its life orb and gave it like 20 defense. It’s it’s an interesting kind of wall breaker because you can choice specs Glamora and then like surprisingly onehit KO a ton of Pokemon while being bulky enough to just make it work and then there’s weird speed tiers. Gamora is actually a really strong generation 9 Pokemon for competitive. I had a ton of fun playing it. So you lose the specs but then you just find like two at KOs. I’m wondering like, okay, does modest 150 special attack find us a lot of super effective KOs on like an a non-stab move and especially a stab move or something? It’s got great coverage. It’s like you convert all that and then you can actually change moves around if you’re not locked in on choice specs. 101 speed, finding natural outspe creep, resting the hit points. 105 96 uh the power of stats 9081. It it needed more. It needed more than 15 defense, 15 special defense. But thing is like you go max hit points, max health, and then turns out 8390 full hit point invested is annoying to get rid of, but it’s still rock poison. So, Earthquake from any of the affforementioned Pokemon wins the game on the spot while being faster or having something. Uh, all of them that do not list their types have the same ones. Cool. Mega Gooler. I don’t care. All right. So, there we go. Power creep has made most of these Pokemon irrelevant. There’s a couple of interesting toes and then for some reason, Mega Garomp Y is actually just ridiculous for no reason. or not why mega card chamoms. Hope you guys enjoy the video. Hope you all have a nice day. Thank you very much for watching.
