Pokemon DLC Is A DISASTER!
Black Forest energy. I love Absol. Absol Mega Eva. I like how they basically stole Digimon’s idea here. What? Oh my god. What the hell am I looking at? What the emo Absel? It’s Absel but emo. And then they give him like an emo haird do. I’m like, what the? They paint him black. He’s dark. Oh, edgy. Edgy. This is terrible. This is awful. Like, what are you doing? Absole. More like absolute ass. This is terrible. Who did they hire to do these mega evolutions? Fora. Yeah. Another flop for Nintendo. Let’s go. Come on everybody. If you don’t believe in him, he can’t hurt you. Oh god, the pain. Oh my god, these Christmas gifts are too much. My poor little heart can’t contain it. First, Metroid Prime 4 is received with mixed reviews. Mario Kart World got booed at the Game Awards. Here are the nominees for best sports racing game. EA Sports FC 26, F12. Okay, come on, Sonic. Come on, Sonic. Rematch. This one boo on Mario Kart World. It was not that bad. And now Pokemon Legends ZA Mega Dimensions DLC is a complete failure. Massive flop. Who could have seen that coming? Wow. If you’re a Nintendo hater, you’ve clicked on the right channel. As a matter of fact, this channel is very close to 119,000 subs. So, if you could all kindly smash the subscribe button, get me to 119,000 subs, and I will perform some music for you live on camera so you can laugh at my real physical appearance. You know you want to. Come on. Come on. I know some of you out there who watch me and are really upset what I say about Nintendo. You’ve been waiting for a moment like this. And I I I I admit I do, too. So, smash the subscribe button. The success of this channel has been insane. I’ve never seen it in my what, like 8 years being here. I’ve been waiting a long ass time for people to finally wake up and realize what Nintendo is. Overrated slop. I feel most people’s opinions of Nintendo came from other content creators and not themselves because now that uh there’s more voices out there. They’re starting to drown out the voices of content creators from 10 years ago who used to tell you Nintendo is the best developer. They’re unmatched. Their quality is supreme. None of that was true. It never was. Nintendo’s just like other game developers. Hints of greatness, hints of mid, and hints of pure slop. Well, today, Pokemon Legends ZA’s DLC has been out for I I don’t know how long. It’s very recent. I’m a little late to this cuz of the stupid ass Game Awards. Damn you, Jeff Keley. What makes this hilarious is that Pokemon Legends ZA DLC was revealed months before the game was even out itself. That’s right. They did trailers for DLC for a game that wasn’t even out yet. That’s diabolical. But if the Nintendo fans, they’re okay with it. If anybody else in the industry does that to them, they all they’ll speak their minds. They they will get vicious. But if Nintendo does it, they look the other way. Well, I’m not going to look the other way. I’m going to treat Nintendo like every other company. Let me tell you, you completely ripped people off. They locked certain mega evolutions behind this DLC, and we’ve been looking at them one by one, each reveal on this channel over the past few months. The one you saw at the beginning was the Mecca Absol. It looks terrible. Oh my god, I can’t get over how bad that design is. You’ve been hyping people up for months. The DLC is out and it’s not being wellreceived online. Not even by Pokemon fanatics. Not even the most diehard Pokemon fans can stand by and defend this. This is pure unadulterated slop and you should expect no less from a company like Game Freak. So, let’s go and have a look at how the internet is reacting, read some reviews, and then give my thoughts on the DLC. Fair warning, uh, you might want to lay on your side. The salt overdose could potentially kill you, and I don’t want to be responsible from people OD. All right, you’re on your side. Great. Here we go. over here on Metacritic. The DLC has been out since December 10th. Apparently, the user reviews are uh well uh Oh, I’m in the way of the user reviews. Hold on. Whoop. There I am. Yes. Yes. Oh, yes. This is what you deserve. AAA slop. How dare you even call yourself AAA when games like Expedition 33 exist or KCD2 and then you’re the richest intellectual property on the planet and this is what you put out. That score is not low enough. It should be lower. Like every Pokémon game going forward should be a zero out of 10 until this company can make a proper looking video game. Either way, it’s sitting at a four and that’s from user scores. Okay. I don’t know where the critic reviews are. I think Oh, there’s four critic reviews. Wow. Nobody played this DLC. Oh my god. And these are Nintendo Switch 2 reviews, too, at that. Let’s have a look. Oof. Oof. Oof. A two from DFL. What the [ __ ] Nintendo? €30 for this empty world and boring quests. This is like a free update, not a DLC. A two from Hoen fan. I’m a huge Pokemon fan who even saw past underwhelming graphics, performance issues, lacking content, etc. and the past Pokémon games, including the base game of Legends EA, because I still had fun playing them. The only major criticism I had with the base game was how grindy it was, like the night sectors or getting the shiny charm. And being grindy is exactly the reason why I think that this DLC is horrible. It just adds more grind. And that would not be a problem for me, per se, if the grind were fun. But the grind is not fun. Navigating through the hyperspace is not fun. And the tasks you have to do within those dimensions are not fun and repetitive. The DLC is like 90% unfun grind. 10% stuff I actually care about. The new mega Pokémon designs are great. Well, that’s where we disagree though, and there were some interesting parts to the story like references to auras. But in conclusion, the DLC was just not fun. It was boring, annoying, and tedious. huge step down from the DLC’s of Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet. And that’s coming from a actual Pokemon fan. You know it’s a Pokemon fan when they put Hoen in their username. That That’s a Pokemon fan. Here’s a three from not Sega. I honestly can’t believe this [ __ ] Game freakly dropped the ball with this one. The doughut system is complete garbage. It’s nothing but a brainless hyper berry grind. Oh my god. Don’t remind me about berries in Pokemon ever again. Ah, I feel bad for Pokemon Legends EA fans. They brought a new system like that, but 10 times more tedious. O, and you don’t even get to target what you want. O, you just waste your time and hope the game decides to give you the right berries at the end. O, who thought pure RNG rewards in a grind like this was a good idea? And the missions are all just as bad. The time limits are awful and ridiculously tight for no reason. There’s zero depth to any of it. Every mission boils down to run around, catch everything, blow up the golden orb, leave. That’s it. No strategy, no creativity, nothing. On top of that, some missions are straight up broken. Wa! Bugs in a Pokemon game. And I was told Nintendo has that quality seal of approval. H. You can get thrown into dimensions with objectives that are literally impossible, asking you to capture six different Pokémon species when only five spawn is insane. That is what were they thinking with that? Oh my god. How has Pokemon not learned a single thing from Pow World is my question. Like Pow World already figured this out. how to make the gameplay loop addicting and fun. And they can’t figure it out. Game Freak with their billions upon billions of dollars cannot figure out how to make a fun gameplay loop. That’s insane. When that happens, you lose your donut. O can’t finish the mission and don’t even get the golden orb. That’s not difficulty. That’s the game wasting your time. It’s honestly embarrassing that this DLC released in the state legends EA is a solid 7.5 for me. This DLC is a three at best, and even that feels way too generous. Pokemon fans are not having a good time. It was zero. It’s a disaster. A total disaster. A zero. A zero from Phoenix. Literal garbage. That would have been underwhelming even as a free update. given the base game barely having any content and the worst PvP in gaming history. I feel that I fell for a scam paying 30 for this. Maybe five I would accept. F N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N Nintendo. Just don’t buy stop buying this crap. Stop don’t even buy it out of morbid curiosity. Don’t play these games. Let somebody else play it for you. That’s all I can tell you with Pokémon games is chances are if somebody else plays it, you’ll get a pretty accurate representation of what the game is. is I mean very few people have a reason to lie about what Pokémon’s about. Oh, here’s one from June. I live in France. Oh, Bonjour. Bought physical main game for 50. Normal price here. The DLC costs more than half the price and it is absolutely not worth the price. I hated it from the start to beginning. Oh well. Well, those are the same. Whatever. Well, I kind of had fun with the main game. Okay. The game analyst with a zero. A lot of zeros here. This DLC is perhaps the most egregious example yet of Game Freak nickel and dimming their dedicated fan base. A blatant cash grab that should have been mandatory free update to the base game. Indeed, it really should have just been free. All of this should have been free and it should have been included at launch in the base game. There was no reason to separate this. They did that to you because they’re greedy [ __ ] You know they’re greedy. and every dime you hand Nintendo they use to try and patent enforce laws that prohibit other titles from trying to experiment with this same formula. So every purchase for Nintendo is a purchase that goes into worsening the industry. I just want to let everybody know that. Make it clear for you. Okay, you understand this? Okay, you don’t care. Okay, gotcha. That’s fine. That’s fine. It’s impossible to review Mega Dimensions without highlighting the fact that this is clearly content that was developed concurrently with, if not originally intended for the mainline Pokemon Legend ZA story content, which requires completion of the main game to access. Feels less like a postgame expansion and more like a missing final act. We’re exploring the same confined Luminos city with the new areas being repetitive, randomly generated hyperspace Luminos portals. The gameplay loop of the DLC is functionally identical to the base game’s main missions. O complete a cutscene, farm survey points in recycled environments, battle a quote unquote rogue mega evolution, and repeat. This structure feels padded out by pointless grinding and an annoying new quote unquote donut system for temporary level. Main selling point, the new mega evolutions only further solidifies the cut content argument. Key megas that were inexplicably missing from the base game, such as Mega, Septile, Blazakin, and Swamper, suddenly appear here. These should have been included from the start, not locked behind an extra $30 price tag. The simple fact that this DLC was even announced even before the main game’s release and followed a tight development schedule suggests a segmented release strategy rather than a genuine DLC, a fullpriced edition. The content is anemic. That’s a brilliant word to use to describe it. And overpriced. It offers no new Pokémon species, just returning ones to fill out a second Pokedex. and the overall experience is hollow. The game is still hindered by subpar visuals and a lack of depth that the base game was criticized for. Ultimately, Pokemon Legends EA Mega Dimension is a disappointing experience that demonstrates a worrying trend for the franchise. It’s more of the same for worse and a prime example of why user skepticism about cut content is often warranted. Avoid this overpriced, lackluster extension of an already short game. That man put his soul into that review. Wow, man. Just clap clap clap. Wow. You I I don’t think anybody else could say it any better than him. Of course, now users are a lot more harsh when it comes to video games. What about the uh critic scores? Well, we only have four of those, but let’s see how they turned out. And here’s two of them. I mean, the only two we can see so far. Latest critic reviews. This is from Nintendo Life. a Nintendo dedicated website. What do they have to say? Nintendo Life gives it a 60 as of yesterday. The core of Pokemon and the highs of Pokemon Legends EA just about managed to shine through in the Mega Dimension DLC, but the repetitive hyperspace dimensions, bland level design, and dull donut making stop this from being a true mega evolution for the game. If you’ve grown up with this series, you’ll find it hard to resist the lure of the expanded Pokedex, and seeing your favorites almost looking their best is a joy. Repetition is not freeing, though, and as with the base game, I’m missing the freedom of the core series. Again, that was their nicest way of saying it’s dog [ __ ] I mean, you can tell that they held back because a 60 is still too much for something like this. And here’s yet another Nintendo website with a 70. Notice how the Nintendo dedicated websites are a lot kinder. The second generation of Pokemon games on the Switch, Scarlet, Violet, and Legends EA has repeatedly gone back and forth between we are so cuckooked and we are so back. No, Pokemon has not been back for over like 6 years. I don’t know what he’s talking about. Pokemon Legends ZA has basically distilled that down to one game because feels like everything that annoyed me about the game was countered almost immediately by the game doing something I enjoyed or impressed me. Well, you’re probably easily impressed. Just saying. Of the two legends, I still prefer Arus, though. And I do hope a third Legends game is more focused on catching than combat. So, it’s not looking good. But now we turn over to Reddit. Reddit is not having a good time with this game. For those that bought the DLC, is it worth it to you? The 23 hours of core. Of course, I want the DLC since it has more Pokémon. Some of my favorites came back. Who [ __ ] cares? I don’t give a [ __ ] about your Pokemon. but I heard mixed messages on it. For those who bought it, how do you enjoy it so far or don’t? Spoilers are okay, but make sure to use the spoiler bar. And this is one of the top responses right here. I’m going to preface this with I absolutely adore Legends EA. I’m pretty disappointed so far. I won’t lie and say I’ve played it a lot or am even halfway through it yet, but I’m pretty disappointed with it so far. I would have bought it anyway because I have been trying to complete the living decks in home and there is some mythicals available that haven’t been available in a while, but the gameplay just bothers me. The time limit in Hyperspace feels very extreme and just not fun. I wish I could put it into words better, but the thing that really gets me is for $30 we get two awesome DLCs in Scarlet Violet and for the same price we got two pretty good DLCs in Sword and Shield. for 30. In Legends EA, we get sections of a new map that are minorly changed from the base game, some more Pokemon and megas, a mechanic that severely limits how you engage with the DLC. I want to love it, but have not really been given a reason to do so far. I mean, even Pokemon fanatics, people who bought the DLC, you know, believe it or not, there are people out there who exist who buy this crap. They can’t enjoy it. And it all seems to boil down to the game play. All they did was add these portals that you get transported to and you have to get some kind of donut that gives you a huge boost so that you can then fight the mega evolved Pokemon in those dimensions. Rinse and repeat. And that’s just not fun because there’s nothing else going on. There’s nothing to contribute to those mechanics on top of that. They really, really, really got lazy and all they did was basically cut the end content of the game and sold it to you as DLC. Why do you continue to support this company? They don’t even care. They don’t care about your adoring support. They don’t care about how much you love them. They don’t care at all. Look at what they’re doing to your franchise and look how they treat you. They think you’re stupid enough not to be able to tell the difference. I mean, granted, it’s a game for kids, and if you’re an adult buying this and being disappointed that the developers programmed it with the mentality of children in mind, then then you’re honestly the [ __ ] to be real with you. But still, when I was a kid, Pokémon games were a lot more challenging. Like, if you wanted to catch the Reggies and Pokemon Emerald, you had to do some insane [ __ ] You had to learn Braille. You had to straight up learn Braille if you wanted to catch one of the Reggies in Pokemon Emerald. So, you know, they definitely respected their audiences a lot more back then than they do now. Here, they gave you slop. They served you slop gameplay that you can find in Ubisoft games and in EA games. and they didn’t even expect you to enjoy it. They just wanted you to buy it because they knew you would. That’s how little they respect you, Pokemon guys, and Nintendo fans. Here’s another one from three days ago. The Legend ZA DLC is incredibly frustrating and disappointing so far. This is from someone who loved the main game, Legends Arus, and had some fun with Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet in their DLC’s. So, they falsely advertised the DLC. Instead of hyperspace luminos being another area to explore, it’s just timegated areas in a legends game. I want to take my time and explore the place and catch Pokémon, not be pressured under a time. Imagine just just a time limit to catch in these areas. That’s so counterintuitive. What is game freak thinking? I I’ll tell you what they why they did that. It’s because they want you to go back and grind through those areas again over and over and over and over and over, hoping maybe the Pokémon you want pops up in the limited time you have. But that’s just scummy. That’s shitty. Like, I get that Digimon did something pretty [ __ ] up, too, where dungeons where you could just grind were locked behind DLC, but at the very least, those dungeons served their purpose. That’s what this DLC should have provided. Something like that. Something like a place where you could endlessly grind for every single Pokemon in one spot that you ever wanted. But they couldn’t even do that. Instead, they gave you less and they limited it more. It’s like they punished you for an extra $30. That’s ridiculous. You give Hoopa a donut, then you have a couple of minutes to explore the area depending on the donuts. You only get a bit over 100 seconds with the normal ones to explore and do missions, which is incredibly frustrating. On top of that, the areas aren’t even new. They’re just parts of the city reused again, except it’s floating in space like a Mario Galaxy level. I found a shiny Pokémon and one second later, boom, Hoopa is tired and I missed it. I found a mudkip area and wanted to catch it, but only had 200 seconds and with its high catch rate times up. Too bad you don’t get mudkip. Bye-bye. The only thing I can compliment it on is the new mega designs. I really like most of them and there’s some cool type changes. Well, doesn’t seem like much to save this one. Like, this is a $30 scam. One of the biggest ones I’ve ever seen. And on top of that, look at the way Pokemon fanboys want to react on Twitter. Can’t wait to see all the bubs make a clickbait rage cut to over Pokemon Legends Z8 Dimension DLC. Imagine being so damn broke you cry over 30 and window and fast food is just as much grown as mud crying over 30 damn dollars. That could never be me. Bro, shut the [ __ ] up for the love of God. You guys are everything wrong with gaming. You are ruining my hobby. You You Nintendo loyalists. You [ __ ] Pokemon dieards. You mass consumers of sloth. You’re ruining gaming. Look at what they did. They completely removed content from the game and sold it separately. And it’s slop. Pure unadulterated slop. It’s trash. And you want to defend that. And you want to tell people to stop crying about 30 bucks. It didn’t cost us 30 bucks back in the day. This is stuff that would have been in the full game. And back in the day, Pokémon games were like 30 or 40 bucks at most. Now, cut content is the price of a fully priced Pokemon game from 2005. suck a dick. The defense for this makes no sense. The more you defend it, the more you purchase it, the less and less you’re going to get every release, but they don’t get that. They They are more enamored with the release time and the release schedule and the hype around it than they are with the actual product. If they took time to play their product and give their honest opinion on it, it would be just like everybody else’s reviews on Metacritic. And to think the Power World Ultrakill collaboration is on the 17th. That’s just a few days away. In a few days from now, we’re going to see what Power World can do and how it stacks up to Pokémon’s DLC. And I guarantee you, even the smallest bit of added content will be a lot more fun and enjoyable than this crap. Well, anyway, I am glad that it flopped. I’m glad it failed. I’m glad it didn’t live up to anybody’s expectations. I’m glad to see Game Freak continue to tarnish and ruin their reputation. I want them gone from the industry. Well, not permanently gone. Just go away for a while cuz how in the hell is anybody ever going to miss you if you’re never [ __ ] gone? Come back when you have something impressive to show people. But you know what? They’re not going to do that. These guys are Nintendo’s Activision. They are their Call of Duty brand. They’re the ones that are always publishing yearly content, of which most is not worth your time, but they charge you like it is worth all your time in the world. I hope the next Pokémon game flops even harder. Like, comment, share, and subscribe if you so choose to. What a beautiful day to hate. And with that being said, I’ll see you in the next video. Congo sucks ass.
