Shiny Hunting in the Legends ZA DLC is PERFECT

There will be no new Mega Pokémon or any major story spoilers in this video. The Mega Dimensions DLC is everything I ever wanted from Pokémon Legends CA. In fact, it might just be the best DLC Pokémon has ever made. This has elevated shiny hunting to a completely new level. And honestly, I don’t even know where to begin. New mechanics, new areas, new tech. It’s seriously fun. And there’s a lot I haven’t even begun to get stuck into yet because right now I’m only two rogue mega battles in. But this is the story of how I caught my first ever shiny alpha Pokémon of the Legends A DLC and many other shinies along the way. To begin though, I wanted my first shiny Pokémon to be a completely random encounter. So, while I looked, I spent an hour or two jumping through portals, explore the new maps, and getting familiar with the new challenges and items coming our way. But what I may have forgotten about was that it’s still very possible to find shiny Pokémon on the main map. Oh. Oh my god. I I know that’s a pretty common one, but that’s a that’s a first for me. Shiny alpha spinnerak. This isn’t the alpha I wanted. I’m not searching for a shaver in this world. Okay, you know what? That’s fair. I I’ll I’ll take it, I guess. I couldn’t really miss that one, could I? I mean, it’s literally on the portal. Okay. Uh first shine of the DLC. No, that doesn’t I need to find one in the portals. That one doesn’t count. You’re a fraud, Spinner. You’re a fraud. Ooh, totile. I could get behind an I could get behind a shiny totterile. What? Uh, wait a minute. What? What’s happen? What is happening? It This This isn’t right. This This doesn’t normally happen to me. Two. I have already found two shaers. Dumpy returns. Why do I keep finding shelfers directly next to portals? What is going on? Is this a bug? This is This is This can’t be right. Is it? Oh, your girl. Okay. Well, uh, Dumpy, you have a a new friend. Dumpet, I hope you get along. Um. Oh no. Oh no. It was a fletchling, wasn’t it? I guess I’ll reset the game. I can’t remember when I last saved. I hope it was recently. It’s saved on Wild Zone 16. I didn’t save here. Uh, I mean, I heard the sound here, but there’s no shiny. None of those are Those aren’t shiny. Did I just fail a shiny Fletchling? Huh? I can’t find it. I I don’t know what to say. Um, to be honest, I don’t even know what it was. That’s so annoying. That’s so annoying. Whatever it was, that that’s my first failed shiny. Okay. Cubone. Hello. Oh. Oh, we got it. Hey, that’s something. Hippopotas. I mean, I’m not going to say I’m underwhelmed, but uh I I’m wellelmed. I am I’m very I’m very wellelmed right now this. But we got it. That’s our first shine of the DLC. Hippopotas. We got the random shiny. And it only took me two shuffers and a missed Fletchling. Now that my random shiny Hippo had been caught, it was time to start exploring the shiny hunter mechanics that this DLC introduces. Yep, actual shiny hunting mechanics. It’s no longer fast travel and bench sitting. Thank god. First things first, I was already noticing some new mechanics we could take advantage of in the maps themselves. One of these was that Pokémon tend to spawn in groups of four to six, which immediately increases our odds of finding the shiny Pokémon we want by spawning and despawning them. But the thing that can make this feature particularly broken are the holivators. Some holivators will now teleport you horizontally rather than just up and down. So, it’s possible to be instantly taken in and out of the spawn zone of a Pokémon by just pressing the A button. Thankfully, this isn’t an option everywhere. Otherwise, it would be unbelievably broken. But on one occasion, I got very lucky with one holivator taking me between both a Litwick spawn and a Charadet spawn. So, this was the perfect chance to sit here for an hour, mindlessly press the A button, and demonstrate just how chaotic this could be. Okay, it has been 1 hour. I’m going to pause there. We’re going to walk around the corner. I’m going to see if there’s any shiny Charadette. Oh my go U um I think there are some shiny Charadette. Uh oh my god. Oh no. Um um um. Okay. So, it’s a little broken, huh? It’s still a little bit broken. I want a Premier ball. I want a Premier ball. Let’s get a luxury ball one. Yeah, I would say that. Oh, I dread to think what’s on the other end of this teleporter. I dread to think how many litwick there are as well. So uh Oh my go Oh. Okay. You can exploit in this game, it it seems, right? There’s one. There’s the other. Look at that. Four shiny char and two lit wicks in an hour. I think shiny hunting’s been solved in Oh my god. Imagine when you get shiny charm powers as well. They 100% have shiny powers, too, right? There’s no other way. Yikes. That’s all I have to say. This was just a distraction, though, because clearly I wasn’t any closer to getting my shiny alpha Pokémon that I so desperately desired. But with the next mechanic, the most important of all, that was about to change. Long story short, to enter portals in the DLC, you have to feed a donut to Hooper. These donuts are made out of berries, and just like in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, can give off different powers. However, the donuts I cared about were the sweet ones, because sweet donuts give alpha power. Unsurprisingly, this power increases the odds of us finding an alpha Pokémon in the portal we use it on. And to get the level one power, which is the best I could get at this point in the story, I found that you need 120 points in the sweet stat. But there’s also an equal chance that you will instead be given a humongo or tinty power from this. And to be honest, it seems complete pot luck as to which you get, or at least for level one powers anyway. So, we’re going to have to make as many donuts as we possibly can. And the easiest way I found to do this was by using Rosselli berries. Five of these berries will give you 120 points exactly in the sweet stat. And best of all, you can buy them directly from this location next to Wild Zone 3. The only drawback being that you have to buy them one at a time. Do you know how insane this interaction would be in real in real life? Can I have a berry, please? Please give me your finest raselli berry. Anything else? Yes, I will take your finest ri berry, please. Anything else? You know what? One more of your finest rascelli berries, please. Once this is done though, we can make as many 120 point sweet donuts as we like. And this opened the door for me to catch my first shiny alpha Pokémon of the new DLC. The only thing I had to do now was find it. Ooh, Charmander. Hang on. There’s quite a few. There’s There’s three on the map. I might be able to do something cool here. Okay, so I think I figured something out. I can basically spawn and despawn these two outbreaks and then I can run back later to this holivator. Uh, do a quick little reset here and then go back and check them. That’s quite a few resets. That’s like 12 Charmanders in 20 seconds. I want to see if this works for us. What? Oh my god, there’s Govana. Are you for real? Come on. Okay, well, I’m at the end of the the donut power, but I do not need this shiny carvan. I just don’t need you. I’m going to leave this one and try again. I want my Charmander. Still cool, though. Oh, wait. Wait. Did I hear two? No, that was just one, right? I think that was just one. I don’t think there’s a second. That’s my Charmander. Ah, it’s not the alpha. It isn’t the alpha, but look at you. God, I love the Charmander line. Don’t call me basic, please. Hey, the method works. There’s a couple of methods you can use in this game now. I am really excited for this. Okay, let me catch you in this premier ball. Um, I’d kind of like to save first. Can I save? No, please stay save. Does this work? Okay, it doesn’t matter. I don’t need to check. It’s all good. Shiny Charmander. All right, I’m taking that. We’ll see if we can find an alpha elsewhere. Okay, so I’ve now found a Froaky hunt. This is potentially an option. Oh my god, two alphas. Yeah, this could be a hunt. I’m seeing quite a few alphas here. I’m excited for this. Froaky, the hardest Pokemon to get in this game. Maybe we can get it easy now. Oh. Oh, it’s another regular one. But no way. We got it. Okay, I got to be careful. We know how skittish Froaky is. Do not you do not lose it. Okay, back strike. That’s a good start. Can I get it in the firm ball? Yes, I can. All right. Oh my god, we got one, but it’s not the alpha. Okay, fine. I’ve got to carry on for a bit. I’ve got 100 seconds to maybe find a shelf as well. Come on. Give me both. Let me greed. Look at this guy. He’s just sitting there menacingly. Why can’t you grow bigger? Oh, there’s two alphas and they’re not. Right, I’m going to get it. 20 calories left. Shiny wimpod. Get in the ball. That’s not the ball I wanted. Please stay in the ball anyway. Hey, got the shiny wimpod again. Not the alpha I want, but it’s another really cool shiny. This is so much fun. Oh. Oh, wait. It’s not a chauffeer again. We got a shiny tree go now. Look at you. Got to be careful not to run out of time here, but I just want a shot. Look at that. Yes. Please stay in the ball, please. Okay, that was ambitious. Um, dusk ball. Go on, trio. You know you want to. Yes. Let’s go. Oh, and I I couldn’t catch the others either, so I’ve only got a shiny Trio. I don’t have normal trios. Look at that. Oh, he’s at an angle. Look at that. All right, I got to get some more berries. And I’m still after that shelfer. Still. Excuse me. How am I meant to get onto your stall? What? Whose idea was it to put one there? Great. So happy I had to do that. Ooh, the sewers. Okay, this is new. This is bad, actually. So, we’ve got four Charmander there. Is there one up here as well? Please tell me there is. Okay. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. No, that’s good. That’s good. There’s six Charmander here. How can I despawn them? Please say it despawns here. Oh, that’s perfect. Not only does it despawn those, but I think it also spawns back in these. I’ve got 10 Charmander spawns here. That is amazing. Oh my god. Wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo. What’s actually happened? That’s the first one I found. That’s the first shiny I found. And it’s the shelfer. Yes. Look at you. Oh my god. We finally got it. Let me knock you out first. That’s probably the safer thing. I’ve saved the game, right? I did save the game. I think I saved the game. I hope I saved the game. I can’t believe that. Shiny Alpha Charmander. That’s insane. I’m running out of time. I’m running out of time. Get you in the dream ball. Come on. Be my dream boy. Let’s go. My first chauffer of the DLC. That’s crazy. Oh, this game is going to be so much fun. This DLC is everything I ever wanted. Look at it. Ready? Shala Charmander. Oh, he’s lonely. You’re lonely no more. I’m evolving you. I want my I want my Shala Charizard. Shala Charmeleon. He looks so big. Yes. A, this Pokémon looks so good in this game. Umbreon and Charizard. I’ve said it from the start. They look so good in this game. Even the sprite looks good. Are you kidding me? Oh my god, you’re so big. I can’t even get you on the screen. Oh my god. There we go. Look at him. He looks so good. He looks so good. Obviously, I had to mega evolve Charizard into his X and Y forms, too. And it really was just the perfect Pokémon to kick off my Legends ZA DLC. But really, I’m only just scratching the surface with what the DLC has to offer. I can’t wait to finish the story because I already have so many fun ideas and challenges that I want to bring you.
