Silksong’s First DLC Is Announced! This Is What It Will Be About!

Team Cherry just announced the first Silkong DLC, and here’s what we know about it so far. It’s called Sea of Sorrow, and in their blog post, they say it contains new areas, bosses, tombs, and more. They’ve told us it’s nautical themed, and from the trailer, we can make some pretty good guesses of what we’re going to do. The water theme certainly points to Farlloom Bay, an area that we can see in the original map drawings, as well as the original trailer for the game. This will likely be on the east side of the map. In fact, in We’ve Mlin, you can see some kelp and Barnacle, so this is likely where the DLC entrance will be. The other big thing that we get from the trailer is a shot of the lab. This is another area that appeared in Team Cher’s own sketchbooks, including the label for blue pedals, which we obviously see in the trailer. As to the main theme of the expansion, it will almost certainly be about lifeblood. The Alchemist tells us that plasmium was discovered by his masters on the far edge of Farle hidden in saltstricken waters. So, the mad scientist vibe of the lab combined with the saltstricken waters definitely points to plasmium. I wouldn’t be surprised if the final boss of this DLC is some plasmium higher being. The DLC is coming in 2026, and because it’s Team Cherry, it is of course free to all players. They also announced a Switch 2 version of Hollow Knight, which is a free upgrade for all players that have the Switch One version. They also announced some cute little minifigures. Finally, they told us, quote, “We have more plans for 2026 that we’re keeping under wraps, so it sounds like we will likely get multiple DLC drops this coming year.” Very exciting news.
