Will This Creature Appear In Silksong’s DLC?
With the announcement of the Silkong DLC, it seems like we’re going to be getting a lot more of the lifeblood story line. There are still a couple of big open questions about lifeblood from Hollow Knight. So, let’s go over the lore of Joanie and the Abyss creature. So, even though using lifeblood in small doses improves a bug’s constitution, its usage was made a taboo by the Pale King. And I think the Pale King was so cautious about this substance because he recognized its similarity to his greatest foe. When it’s allowed to flourish, life blood will grow into veins that look almost identical to the radiance’s infection. But despite the taboo, we have two characters that are associated with this substance. The first is blue child Joanie. Joanie is deceased and the knight finds her body, but she had the ability to transfigure vital fluids into blue lifeblood and was seen as a heretic for doing so. But despite being associated with a dangerous substance, Joanie seems pretty harmless. She’s described as kindly and she gives you a charm named Joony’s blessing. Joanie was originally designed by a Kickstarter backer, so I would guess that Team Cherry didn’t want to make her a super evil character. That being said, the other lifeblood related character in Hollow Knight is far more sinister. There’s a sealed door in the abyss, and if you make your way there with 14 lifeblood masks, the door will open and you’ll gain access to the lifeblood chamber. In here, you’ll complete some platforming challenges, which will eventually lead you to the lifeblood core charm. And it’s a bit hard to see, but in the background of this room, there is the head of a massive multi-eyed being known as the abyss creature. This thing really seems like the endgame of the lifeblood storyline. We know very little about it, but it seems extremely powerful because it eventually makes its way into Godome. So, who knows what Sea of Sorrow won’t bring us, but I wouldn’t be shocked if somehow we see the abyss creature in the lab. Subscribe for more.
