Will This Secret Boss Appear In Silksong’s DLC?
With the Silkong DLC announced, I’m very curious as to what the new bosses are going to be. And after looking through the internet for anytime Team Cherry mentioned a water creature, I have some absurd theories. Okay, up first, we have the original design for the God Tamer. You see, way back in the day when Hollow Knight was still a Kickstarter project, the $600 reward tier was being able to design your own boss, and one of these backers designed the Lobster Lancer. The Lancer was going to be a mysterious melancholy knight whose steed was a battlecard crustation. This idea eventually morphed into the God Tamer, who is a knight that’s riding a generic beast. I couldn’t find any information on why Team Cherry made this change, but I’d like to think that they’ll bring back the lobster as an homage to this idea in CFRU. Okay. And then my piece of evidence for another water-based boss is pretty out there, and it definitely does not fit with the vibe of CFSU, but it’s pretty funny. The $880 back reward was to design a dungeon and boss. And way back on December 3rd, 2014, they made a post on their Kickstarter describing this reward and included this image as an example dungeon. This is the Carnival of Crustation, whose boss is Cello, who is a juggling crab. Like I said, this theme does not fit in at all with Sea of Zoro, and it’s a sketch done by Team Cherry over a decade ago, so it’s probably not even on their mind, but you never know.
