"Fable was announced in 2020 as part of the Xbox Games Showcase. The game, which is a reboot of the Lionhead RPG series, doesn't currently have a release date. It's understood Fable is also in development for PlayStation 5."

At this point, just assume that every game from Xbox Studios is also in development for PS5. The real question is if it’s a multiplatform release when it comes out, or if there’s still some timed exclusivity with Xbox / PC.

    2. Shower thought: MS was a software company first (and foremost still is) and they made hardware to sell software, and maybe they are just reverting to form; it just took em 25 years.

    3. They aren’t stupid. At this point they need money from their gaming division, period. Everything will be on PlayStation from here on out would be a safe assumption.

    4. If it’s day and date, I’m getting on PS5 instead of PC. Getting my first Fable trophy will feel so weird and yet so right.

    5. That makes sense with their current strategy of putting their games on every platform they can. Kinda hope this means they’ll rerelease the old fable games on the PS5 as well.

Every game Xbox releases will come to ps5. If not day one then within a year. I’ll be playing them on pc/steam machine so I don’t care anymore

Cool since I bought my first Xbox for Fable, I’m excited to play this one and the newer KOTOR esque game in developement. I don’t think I will ever find a pedestal higher than the one that KOTOR lives on here.

I figured this was the case. I can wait 8-12 months and play a version on my PS5 Pro with fewer bugs and likely better performance than on release.

I think Matt Booty, a while back, alluded to every game coming to PlayStation, and said it was just a matter of resources available and timing (for porting). So whether at launch or later, I assume every single Xbox published game is coming to PlayStation, without exception.

    10. They announced Fable in 2020. Which I assumes means they at least started it sometime in 2019 so they could have enough to make the announcement. Since then there’s hardly been a peep.

      These development cycles are ludicrous.

    11. What a time to be alive.
Only thing left is for Peter Moore to show up with a PS tattoo.

I assume so and hope so. If this one is on ps5, the I will finally be able to sell my series X.

It’s a good thing they announced this game 6 years ago so they could still not have a release date

Sold my series x in 2024 and don’t regret it one bit. Any xbox game I’ll just play on my ps5 pro, which is the best console to play them on anyway

    15. I bought an Xbox series S way back in 2021 in hopes for Fable, but I also own a PS5. Now I feel a lot more confident that I will definitely get this title on the PS5! Ray tracing for the win!

    16. lol I remember when I used to say Fable will make or break Xbox for me and here it is for the PS5. My Xbox gamepass expires before this game launches so I might just hop onto PS Plus because they’re going to share these Xbox games in the future in other sub plans

    17. I think it’s safe to assume anything Microsoft develops will come to PS5. It’s more a matter of it’s a same day release or later down the line type deal.

Microsoft is focused on being a 3rd party publisher, this isn’t a surprise. It’s good for the industry IMO.

This is all I ask for out of 2026. Didn’t expect Avowed. Now I’m definitely considering that maybe just maybe the no matter what it is all coming eventually marketing was truthful? I regret every day I spent coming to PlayStation again half way during the PS4’s life. Simply because I missed Fable.

But now I’m wondering if the year-long delay early last year into 2026 was to get a port made?
