I think all first party switch 2 upgrades should be included with NSO+

The fact that this even needs to be clarified to be free shows the sad world we live in. (For all of the people who are going to call me dramatic in the replies, Nintendo just sold a paid resolution bump with Legends ZA)

lol what. How odd.

Oh great I have like 0 reason to buy thr switch 2 edition then

Great, now how about the other 99% of the Switch 1 library that looks like smeared dogshit with the 1.5x scaling from 720p to 1080p on Switch 2 Handheld mode making games look worse than on Switch 1 with uneven pixels?
Like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for example.
Malagubbar on
So what is included in the update they charge money for?

Didn’t we know this already?

good, im waiting for upgrade patches on xenoblade games but this is great news

Man Nintendo just allow us to play Switch 1 games in Docked mode in handheld. Can’t be that hard
AxlIsAShoto on
While a free basic NS2 version would make sense, this is like the bare minimum I think. Most Switch 1 games look awful on the Switch 2’s screen.

Wait
There was already a Switch 2 specific update right when the Switch 2 launched. It mostly was due to compatibility with multiplayer features.
Next week they offer a paid Switch 2 version which includes mouse support etc., an update for users on Switch 2 who don’t purchase the upgrade (mentioned above) and a general free feature release bumping the game to 3.0 for everyone including OG Switch users.

Not even 60fps in the free update … Ouch
ArachibutyrophobiaZ on
Well shit. I only play handheld and they already charged me for the upgrade pre-order…

This just proves to me the fact these updates cost anything is bullshit.

In case Switch 2 upgrades were not confusing enough lol

Someday, someday, games that aren’t massive sellers will get Switch 2 upgrades.

If I haven’t played in like 3 years should I restart my island or just keep it rolling?

Oh that Bowser’s Fury update is gonna go hard

To think that on Xbox SX, there is fps boost (30fps>60 fps) and 4k upscaling for hundreds of Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games.
itsabearcannon on
Is the paid upgrade going to bring it up to 4K 60 FPS on Switch 2, or still 30 FPS?
I currently have to use motion enhancement on my LG C3 to make ACNH not look like eye bleeding 20-30 FPS on S2.
PopgirlProtocol on
The Switch 2 version is not 60 fps, correct?
Gamerpsycho on
Wait what was the 4.99 price tag i just paid for then? I have it physical.
ISB-Dev on
I know the sales for it have been great, but the Switch 2 feels like a dud.

What in the actual fuck are they doing with these updates? This is a such an absolute fumble..
NeighborhoodPlane794 on
Splitting up the graphical upgrade in to two separate updates is absolutely degenerate business behaviour. They went out of their way to make this as confusing as possible
yunerotroy21 on
I’m pretty sure that the resolution bump is only on the paid upgrade pack. Can you copy and paste the exact sentence here where it says that the free update gives us a resolution bump in portable mode?
Artoo2814 on
Maybe they’re testing the water. “Would you pay for TV mode 4K upgrade only + some QoL stuff if portable mode can run dock mode graphics (we don’t know this yet but it’s really likely just like the original mode in Jamboree now).
storm2k on
is this going to be free if you have an nso membership like the zelda et al upgrades were? i’m actually thinking of starting a fresh island on acnh once the updates come out.

Finally! Been waiting for this one.
Please, I need fire emblem then xenoblade next!
