idk, launching hardware in the middle of a sale/fest seems like it would completely detract from that and be counter intuitive.
If everyone is dropping coin for the new hardware, they will be less likely to be buying games during the sale/fest.
I know there is an argument of “But if they’re buying new hardware, they’ll want games to run on it!” To that I say, sure..but if it’s like the Steam Deck where you put in your pre-order and then have to wait a few months before you get it…it’s silly to buy games months in advance.
