I remember being about 14 or 15. School sucked so bad for me at the time.

Back in 2015/2016, I'd come home and boot up the 360 and instantly turn this gem on.

Everything about it. The soundtracks. The funny and cheap AI. The interesting level settings and story. The AI also talking in different languages, with the music (by Jesper Kyd) matching the country that the level took place in.

    These games felt culturally dense.

    The HD graphic rehaul.

And I remember around this time how it was always cloudy or rainy. I'd go out for walks after playing this game, and the cool, strong breeze combined with the peaceful pallete of the blooming green trees in my neighborhood really made me feel as unbothered by the hardships, just like 47.

It was an oddly comforting game for me at the time.

This was sort of a cathartic, growing, and callused "numbing" period in my life, where I basically learned a lot about myself and how I process emotions.

It really made me appreciate how media can touch a person beyond just dopamine from beating a level.

It made me appreciate the art in all media, not just books or paintings.

So what games got you through some tough times?

    1. Contracts was so damn good. I’m afraid to play it again since I haven’t played in over a decade and I want it to remain perfect in my mind. Lol. But to answer your question, my “tough time” game was Ocarina of time. My parents were going through a rough separation and that game helped me just zone out in another world.
