“new” has all the charm of portability, ¡faceplates and super Famicon button colors!

Face plates are amazing, but if you have medium or large hands just get the XL.
Non XL is asking for hand cramps.

Both are great.
You’re basically choosing between a bigger screen vs. something that easily fits into your pocket and has easily interchangeable face plates.

i haven’t had the new 3ds xl, but i do prefer the new 3ds simply because of the faceplates – on the xl model, your faceplates are fixed and typically come with a glossy finish that chips super easily. not a fan of that. i also like it easily fitting in my pockets, especially as someone who wears womens size clothing!

Subjectively (It’s actually rather off-topic since it’s not quite on topic for the post), there is a compromise between screen size and portability – New 2ds XL. N2dsxl doesn’t have frame above the top screen for camera, that’s why n2dsxl is a little bit smaller and looks very similar to a phone in size (not about thickness, but still).

The XL is much more comfortable.

They are both great. I’ve owned both over the years. As a 6 foot 4 male, the XL fits my hands better. So I would choose based on that, not based on the size of the screen.

New 3DS XL is the best model

XL stretches pixels, and it’s very noticeable… the non-XL is more natural.

The XL feels great in my hands. I have “medium” sized hands if that metric makes any sense at all haha
