I’ve seen the glitches of when you get stuck in 3rd person mode, and it looks absolutely uncanny. Even if you look at the shadows of your V, it looks really really really weird.

I think it’s for the best if the game stays in first person, I don’t think they should ever try and make that an update or anything, or do it in a sequel. It works way better for the Witcher.

    2. TLDR:

Cyberpunk 2077’s creative director, Igor Sarzynski, explains that the first-person perspective was chosen for the game because it aligns well with the story, genre, and world. He believes first-person enhances the narrative design, allowing players to embody a character trapped in a deteriorating body and interact with a digital ghost. Sarzynski clarifies that this perspective choice is specific to 2077 and not necessarily indicative of the sequel.

    4. I think this game sets an extremely high bar for combat in a first-person RPG of this scale. The variety and depth of playstyles that look and feel fantastic to play is really impressive

I get why people want a third-person mode, and I’d love that too in the sequel if the design is right for it, but first-person makes way more sense for this game. You’re spending a lot of time exploring city streets, back alleys, and indoor spaces. It’s not only more immersive in first-person, but mechanically it’s just a lot less clunky.

I’m playing through Final Fantasy VII Remake right now, and while I think it’s a fantastic game, the third-person camera angle leads to a lot of awkwardness because of how cramped most of the game’s levels are.

For me first person is just archaic at this point. But I agree that it was the best way to tell the story. I hate fps melee combat though, it’s always janky.

    7. Started with Cyberpunk yesterday and the combat is so awkward I can not escape in the first mission. When getting back a robot from some guys. Any tips?

    8. For the narrative bits and general dialogue, I agree it works so well in first person, but I felt the fov was entirely too cramped for most of the general gameplay. This game is perfect for a swappable pov, forcing first person in narrative moments, and allowing players to switch throughout gameplay (like how you can choose when riding in a vehicle)
