    1. Petty sure Sony was mostly interested in keeping it off Xbox but now that they are essentially third party why pay for exclusivity?

    2. This is because SquareEnix cannot afford to release timed exclusives anymore. Ff7 remake, FF16, FF rebirth all underperformed by their initial SE metrics, and a significant part of that is due to timed exclusivity.

    3. Good. I think Rebirth will hit Switch 2/Xbox by June, and part 3 will hit by early 2027.

    4. Would be cool if it came to PC day one. Also give me a queens blood stand alone game you cowards

    5. square has been very vocal about how bad timed exclusivity has been for them, I doubt we will see that happen again unless it’s some project Square didn’t wanna do but some console maker offered to fund the project (like a proper remake for FF6)

    6. With the way Switch 2 is selling in Japan, I wouldn’t be surprised. I think we see a big shift in platform priority for Japanese devs whose products do best in Japan. I dont think they’ll jump ship from Playstation, but they will make a point to launch the game on both platforms at the same time.

    7. Wow a business decision that isn’t dumb as fuck, good on SE for once. Exclusivity absolutely shit on Rebirth’s sales on top of the fact the PS5 had supply issues..and the fact they didn’t make a PS4 version despite the fact there were WAY more ps4’s on the market at that time. Still confused me to this day.

Great news. Switch2 would be the last place I’d choose to play this, but I’m glad the option would exist.
