Who at Sony is greenlighting shit like Hunters Gathering? I could be entirely wrong and it may be fun so I’ll try to keep an open mind. But it looks so unappealing. It looks like every other Fortnite clone out there.

I played the first one until I started doing missions in the big city in the middle of the map. By the time I got there I was bored to hell and back with the game. Thereās an audience for everything but this was totally not for me.
Iāve played dozens of open world games before but the story of finding more about past civilizations in a fucked-up future has been told thousands of times before and I thought this one was nothing new.
It felt like another Ubisoft game where I did lots of secondary missions I wasnāt interested in just to get upgrades and gear to go through a passable main story just to get to some bunker/vault where I would find answers about the world or my family. Just writing this I realized Iāve played the same thing in one shape or another many times before.

Hoo boy, I really enjoyed playing the Horizon games so hopefully they’ll be able to finish the third and not cancel it. Robot dinosaurs are so much fun!

The ps5 generation pales in comparison to the previous ones imo. I hate that they are pushing shit like this knowing that games take so long to make now. When I heard multiplayer horizon I was like ya know what? A monster hunter competitor in that universe with that art design could be incredible, and Iād be totally in. But thisā¦ aināt that man. And I love how they anticipated the reaction considering A. They did this during an unceremonious YouTube video (not at a PlayStation event), and B. They began said video with āwe will continue to make single player games.

Couldn’t they just have made the Horizon 3 game, and included a multiplayer hub where you can join other players to go on hunts together in the game world they would have already made for the single-player? Maybe even make some tough exclusively multiplayer raids and stuff. I’m not a game dev or publisher, but that seems like a way more appealing idea than whatever this is.
