Genuinely great commercial. I find that so many of these anniversary plugs for brands really miss the mark on what makes their brand resonate, and instead opt for nostalgia or innovation. Pokemon 30 asking a very “in the moment” question encapsulates both the history of the series and its meaning to each player, but also keeping the sentiment in the present. Your favourite might have come from 1996, but in 2026 your journeys have never separated you. Pokemon is and always has been about the journey.

I can’t believe Luxray actually got some love in an official ad. Game Freak should be ashamed that they gave Luxray’s Mega to Zeraora. Not mega slot, like that’s obviously Mega Luxray but you slapped it on Zeraora. Just like Venonat clearly originally evolved into Butterfree or Kangaskhan clearly originally evolved into Cubone, but then they swapped it into another evolution line.
