For context, this launched on 1.0 on January 20th, a mere 20 days ago… It’s gotta be bleak if Riot is starting to reduce numbers already.

Having that “sign into another account” thing at the front was a big deterrent… Im signed into the fucking system when I turn it on, tired of all this extra BS when you try to play a game nowadays

I can’t imagine there being that much overlap between moba fans and fighting game fans.
We’ve been asking riot for an mmo for a decade, they should be working on that

Isn’t this typical? Once the game is released, assuming it’s released as a finished product, the amount of ongoing work required is reduced.
Rather than a full development team, you only need a smaller team for bug fixes and content updates.
If game development teams didn’t reduce (and move on to something else) after release, how would any developer make more than 1 game?

Delayed console release was a horrible idea, especially for a fighting game. Yes Riot, let me download this game on ps5 and get smashed by pc players who practiced for weeks.

I can admire them wanting to branch out with the League of legends characters, especially after the show was well received. But a fighter was always going to be a risk for them.
Fighters are the original live service games. Everyone has their one of two of choice and that’s what they stick too. Fighting game fans are fiercely loyal to their games, even when they are pissed. It’s hard to pull players from other fighters when they have years spent learning characters and combos.

I feel like this game had 0 marketing for mainstream audiences who don’t play League/Riot games

I played it for like 30 mins when it launched on PC and I just haven’t had the time to go back to it, I do think I would have made more of an effort to go back if it had more single player options but the chances of that happening now are probably slim to none.

Well they expect people to make a riot account to play after the helldivers 2 mess. Except PSN players can’t review bomb to be heard.

Translation: The game did not meet our exceedingly high and inflated expectations and letting a game grow organically over time does not fit with our investor-first policy of game making.
