Hello r/3DS, I was recently thinking about what I can do with an old 3DS XL of mine when I had the sudden idea to turn it into one of those cool little Japanese-Japanese language dictionaries (here's a picture for reference). My idea was to develop an application and somehow mod the system to run it, and I just had a couple questions for you guys before I started working on it:
- Does this project sound feasible? I understand it will likely take a lot of work and time, but I think it would be very practical and a great way to practice my software development skills.
- Would it be possible to mod the device to only load this app, essentially removing the original 3DS home screen and other un-related functionality? I have a seperate New 3DS XL model reserved for games and stuff, so I would like to avoid a general Homebrew mod.
- What resources/libraries should I look into to get started?
I've never modded a system before so I apologize if my questions aren't formed properly or aren't specific enough. I feel very passionately about this idea, so any supportive help/advice would be immensely appreciated!
