I bought this Xbox 360 game online. I've never seen one of these stickers before. Does anyone have any background, or ability to confirm authenticity?

Yes. But it only means as it says, it was purchased through the Microsoft company (employee) store.

I received a copy of Shenmue 2 like this once for Xbox. I don’t think it adds any value or anything but it’s kind of cool.
We need someone to look up that employee from the number. Probably not with Microsoft but… what if it was Major Nelson?
