only saying this because they’ve been doing this for the last 20 years and I kind of wanna see something new from them doesn’t mean I don’t love the God of war games they’re practically one of my first games I played in my childhood on PS3.

I’m excited for the future for the God of war trilogy remakes and the new God of war sons of Sparta game is really good and in general I like that the franchise is still continuing on and I hope we get more games

but at the same time, I kind of wanna see what other stuff they can make outside of God of war because it practically has been the only franchise they worked on since forever

I have heard rumors they are working on a new IP so I hope that goes well

God of War is a huge moneymaker, so I doubt they’ll give up on the franchise.

Cory Barlog is reportedly working on a different game right now. It isn’t a new IP, but reports say it feels like a new IP

Indeed, though it’s scary to build something brand new without any safe bets.

Gamers are fickle folk, especially nowadays when it’s hard for many to find motivation to play something brand new; pulling teeth if you will.

Just ask those giant whales in Dota2 or C.S to try something new and see the change across the industry.

    3. their next AAA game, directed by Cory Barlog, is not God of War. The rumor is that the reveal is later this year with a release next year.

I agree. Way too many studios get stuck with one IP just because EZ money and gamers (humans in general) enjoy being spoonfed the same slop ad nauseam. Except when they randomly change their mind. With the vitriol towards remakes these days, I’m baffled by the jeers towards GoW’s for **three** of them. Wtf does GoW3 need a remake for? It’s been remastered on PS4 and holds up perfectly fine.

    5. No one wants to make new IP anymore bc it’s a $200m gamble not to mention the opportunity cost. Unless it’s for a live service apparently
