Hi guys!
I just wanted to show you the three 3DS consoles I repaired myself — with absolutely no previous experience.
A long time ago, I had a New 3DS XL (I even imported it from Australia because it was released there before France). A few years later, I sold it.
At the end of last year, I really wanted to get back into it, so I checked the prices… and they were crazy (as you all know).
So I decided to buy broken ones and fix them myself.
First, I bought a New 3DS for 55€ (top screen was broken).
I replaced the screen and the missing shell parts for about 15€.
Then I bought a New 3DS XL for 160€ (touchscreen and R/ZR buttons were broken).
I fixed everything for around 20€.
Last but not least, I bought a New 2DS XL for 90€ (top screen broken).
I repaired it for about 30€, including replacing the black top shell that I accidentally broke while removing it.
I also bought new batteries for all three, 15€
What do you guys think about the price? Worth it? 😄

I love stuff like this. Today’s project was reshelling an old DSi XL. It started life as a blue one I picked up on ebay about 6 years ago for $40 with a mangled touch digitizer. Rebuilt it completely back then and and just last week the hinge seized up and took the shell with it by cracking it. New hinge and new shell and it’s all back to mint. Fun part over it can now return to the drawer, lol.
