Yesterday I was on the Microsoft Store looking at the games that were on sale when I checked out Resident Evil 2 Remake. When I opened the page, the game was listed as paid but I could still install it. Curious, I downloaded the game and started playing. I finished Leon's story mode and now I'm finishing Clare's. I open and close the game as if it were really mine and I can still play. Lara, you can see a symbol appears saying I can't play anymore, but I still can, haha. So far I've managed to download Fallout 4 and Forza, besides Silksong. Can someone tell me what this is?

Only ever 2 answers to this **if the games are playable.** when you can install any game you want without owning it but will not launch without a license
Your console is set as someone’s home Xbox or you are in a grace period of your gamepass expiring before it is fully revoked.
Since RE2R is not included in gamepass…
The answer is home sharing
xbox allows you to preload games without owning it.
it’s downloads. but you can’s start it as you don’t have the license.
Gamesharing
Someone has your xbox set as their home xbox. You can use their purchases and subscription
My favourite genre on r/Xbox, people telling on themselves.
The console is the home console of another account and so you have access to the games & DLC from that account. This can happen easily if the console was bought used / had a previous owner.
As longs as the previous owner is not changing his home console you get access to whatever games he is buying or getting via gamepass.
