I just received this from a friend who never really used it, I’m loving it, nothing wrong with the console itself but I noticed today that half of the shell was a dark grey while the other half was black. Only on the top half as well, the bottom is all dark grey.

It’s a reshell I’m pretty sure, but I do see some sources saying it’s a Japan special edition
Yeah that’s part of the design, the one I use is the exact same colourwise. You just don’t really notice it unless it’s in direct lighting thanks to the metallic shimmer as well as how dark it is in general.

If you leave it in sunlight it will start doing that too. Even sunlight through a window as it sits on a table in your house.
