The monitors aren't aligned because it's just my old 1080p monitor and my new 1440p monitor so it's a bit of a mix and match and the stand I got doesn't have independent height adjustment.
Maybe separate them just little so its not that recognisable

You can remove the previous stand now under the right screen correct? That will improve the look and open up some space.
I would move the hard drive off the table top and to a floor stand. Perhaps you could use the stand that used to hold the monitor now that it’s not needed on the table top.
Personally I like mixing in plants and nature to tech setups.
