I mean, you don’t need to get both. Just getting one would be $20.

I have 0 desire to play any of those other games.

I wish the castlevania collections offered video filters on more than just the console games. Scanlines are great but the grid lines are important too.
Also, buying both versions is silly. I don’t care if it means you can’t get a full pokedex, it’s still silly.

Has there been any GBA game that got extensive add ons? Cause all of the other examples listed are DS/3DS and are collections of multiple entries. FRLG is one single entry, if it included the other Gen 3 mainline games then the comparison’s more understandable. I do wish for a gallery option though so if there is a non-collection GBA game port that has it please inform me.
Also comparing Great Ace Attorney to Pokemon is literally apples and oranges. Great Ace Attorney is partially a visual novel that requires close attention to the story and its details, rushing won’t cut it. Compared to Pokemon there’s significantly less “agency” portions because it’s a completely different game genre. It’s a great game series but this is big preference bias.

I think the sales numbers are going to tell you that those other games don’t matter to people. Realistically you’re trying to compare completely unrelated things as far as player bases are concerned. You’re not going to reach anybody and spreading hate over someone else buying a game does not make you look good.

You dont get to judge anyone for what they spent their money on

This is what I’m saying!
The issue isn’t the price, it’s the lack of effort.
It’s the 30th god damn anniversary of one of the most beloved franchises on earth and yet all we’re getting is 2 unchanged gba ports
Shit pisses me off
Sonic had its 30th anniversary a few years ago and Y’know what they did?
They gave us 4 classic games, remastered with wide screen, massive amounts of QoL like saving, drop dash, super peel out, playable knuckles in Sonic 1, 2, and CD, 8 game gear games, beautiful 2D animated cutscenes, the ability to select between the US and JP soundtrack on sonic CD, the list goes on
And then they announced DLC shortly after that added Amy as a playable character on all 4 games
Compare that to what Pokemon is giving us
Just FR/LG
No remaster, no widescreen
No additional content
It’s extremely barebones
It’s just… annoying.
It shows how little they actually care about their fans and how little passion they have for what they’ve created
Anniversary celebrations are supposed to celebrate the franchise
Even Mario did better than this with 3D allstars

Your first mistake was putting smart consumer and a Pokemon fan in the same sentence, that franchise is practically an abusive relationship and they just keep accepting it

Why do we keep saying “adds widescreen” as if that makes it inherently better

Huge original prices were between $30-40 back on launch day. This is a steal

I’m so tired of pretending that TPC and Game Freak aren’t trying their hardest, it’s a tough economy, suck it up, people have jobs that depend on it
Do you want another Wii U? We NEED to support Nintendo right now, just leave
I would gladly pay $30 or $40 for each pokemon game, they are POKEMON, THE BEST MOST PROFITABLE SERIES,

Unpopular opinion; I like playing DS & 3DS on original hardware (with some exceptions)

LOL if I were a “smart consumer” I probably should have waited longer before buying a switch 2. OP is barking up the wrong tree

I bought all 3 castlevania collections and both frlg. Im the smartest consumer of them all.

Funny because FRLG are better than everything else there. Even with the outdated physical and special split.

Don´t like it? Fine, just dont get it. End of the story. Life is too short to be crying that much online.

A pokemon game is worth more than all those franchises lol

I mean one of these is Pokemon LeafGreen and the other is a bunch of Mega Man games I’ve straight up not heard of until this post…. Obviously the Pokemon one is gonna cost more per game…..
You’re right that Nintendo could certainly do better, these should probably be like $10-15 instead of $20, but I think $20 for some of the biggest games of all time is not that horrible of a deal. Not to defend the giant corporation just sayin’

Right..for people who want to play Gen 1 remakes, the smart option is to…but 3 other completely unrelated collection of games?

Pokemon is way more popular than all three of those IPs combined.

Jeez, people will defend everything pokemon related. Keep buying it and nintendo/pokemon company will feed you more of this lazy ports.
