hi everyone!
last night, i finally tackled a task that i’ve been putting off for almost two years, which was taking apart my new 3ds system and cleaning up the dpad since the down button only responded when there was intense pressure on it. after reassembling everything the first time, i powered it and the light turned blue for a few seconds before making a popping sound and then turning off completely. so, i searched practically all corners of the internet to see what could be the issue for this, and people have said that it could be an issue with the ribbon cable that functions the 3d effect and top screen. people have said to disconnect and reconnect all ribbons (which i did) which then lead to the system not powering on at all. i’ve taken apart and put back this system literally an endless amount of times and i still haven’t been able to figure out what is causing this issue. i feel so defeated because every guide i’ve seen is only for the XL systems and there are rarely any guides focused on the non-XL systems 😭
if anyone has any tips/advice i’d greatly appreciate it!
(i also included pictures of the motherboard itself so that if there is a problem i overlooked, maybe someone else’s eyes could spot it. it’s my first time doing anything like this with a console i own 😞)
