Pokémon cards are finally becoming accessible to kids again as Japan’s speculative bubble collapses

    1. Huh, I was kind of hoping that available to kids implied I could take my kid to a store and he could buy a pack instead of some shitty adults purchasing everything and anything available.

I guess some specific cards dropping in price from 65K to 15K is a start though…

    2. I hope this happens in the US.  I collected and played with my son from 2016-2020, we were at an event the weekend before our area went into quarantine.  I was shocked when we couldn’t find a booster box of vivid voltage anywhere, and it was just an absolute nightmare after that.

We used to get a booster box of every expansion since I always dreamed of being able to do that with MTG as a teenager and then buy singles after for play.

My son did sell a portion of our older cards for a ton of money, but I’d much rather have had the binder full still and been able to keep collecting.  The frustration with availability killed my interest in playing.

    3. I wonder if this has anything to do with the foreign guy caught buying pokemon cards for some type of tax scam.

    4. I cannot wait for this to happen to the English markets and all the dickheads to lose out on their “investments”.

Meanwhile I’ll stick to buying cards for £1-2 in Japanese instead of £20 for their English counterpart.

    5. I want every neckbeard who circles like vultures around those Pokemon machines and aisles in Target to have their little investments dry up. Cards are for kids, not for hustlers.
