    Is this ps5 controller real or fake? Does anyone know how to fact-check whether it’s real or fake?



    It’s frustrating to have a 1 photo limit but I just bought this 30th anniversary edition controller off a delivery site similar to Amazon named Mercado Libre (I live in Mexico and bought it there since it was cheaper than Amazon’s). The box had yellow sides and whats most alarming to me is that the back doesn’t have the PlayStation 30th Anniversary white text.

      Compare it side by side to another PS5 controller that you know is real. You will probably see some differences. I was screwed over on a PS4 controller from eBay. It was a fake.

      That’s fake bro straight away I can tell by the colour of the buttons. They’re black. Real 30th buttons a grey. Sorry man you got stooged.

      Some regions, the outer box has white sides. In other regions, the sides of the box are yellow.

      Are the ‘share’ and ‘pause’ icon above the buttons white?
      And the D-Pad seems to be black, when the one on the 30th anniversary it’s a shade of gray to match the controller.

      Yea it’s fake. D-pad buttons are black when they should be gray. Does it at least work? Hope it wasn’t too expensive

      It’s most likely reshell. Original buttons on this edition are grey, your buttons are black.

      Check the headphone jack. Original is grey, resell/fake is black.

      Definitely fake, the directional buttons are black, they’re a clear grey colour. I’m using mine now, unfortunately you’ve been mugged off mate. Send it back.

      Play with it for about three months. Then, if it has a terrible stick drift problem, it’s real.

      The icon below the speaker/mic button is white, and should be.

      The icons above the photo and options buttons however should not be white.. they should be a darker grey.

      I think I used this website when I had stick drift issues.

      It told me what controller I had plugged. God of War Ragnarok edition had the drift issues. The galactic purple one showed as galactic purple.
      I would think the anniversary controller would say it is the anniversary controller.
      I unfortunately can not confirm that for you. Maybe someone here that has one can.
