So awhile back I built my first 3ds, replaced both LCDs (screen lenses & digitizer), shell housing, The build was wonderful other than some fitting issues with the cover plates. However, the plastic around the hinge cracked. Moral of the story even if using an aftermarket hinge, be sure the housing shell is OEM. *You can use a grey 3M Skotch pad w light pressure and water to buff in circles followed by doing so with a white 3M Skotchpad* “Small circles and light pressure, like waxing a car”, it erases small dings, scratches etc and a does damn good job at it.
