I didn't understand why controllers came with more and more buttons, my old ass had a hard enough time with the standard ones.

But recently I bought an 8-bit do Ultimate 2 wireless with 2 extra bumbers and two rear paddles.

I just started playing NIOH 3 and this games slaps! Alot of combos tho, so when shit hits the fan it's more button mash then lining up combos.

But by an accident I found out you can bind multiple actions to a single button, so in my case combos.

So in Steam I bound these combos to my extra buttons:

    Arrow up + Y — PL

    Arrow up + X — PR

    Guardian spirit attack – L4

    Guardian spirit attack 2 — R4

This makes the combat so fluid for me it's just insane. No more struggling hitting those combos!

So you can bind combos to a single button, but you can also use this single button for multiple actions.

You can trigger a single push action, double push action, hold button action and so on.

Keyboard players have alot of hotkeys for things like quick save, Inventory, quest journal, that we normally don't want to use our few buttons for.

So for my left analog stick I use:

    Press and Hold – Sprint

    Press 2x – Quick Save

And for my right analog stick I use:

    Press and Hold – Crouch

    Press 2x – Inventory Menu

The point of this long ass post is that quality of life, your skills, and fun factor will rise new heights if you use 5min inside your controller settings in Steam if you are a noob like me! You can bind what ever drifts your boat!

And if already knew this, GOOD FOR YOU my friend but I certainly did not!

    1. My Steam Deck has EVEN MORE buttons on it that I never use.

Sadly, vast majority of games are better with keyboard+mouse so I find myself just going back to those controls over trying to get controllers to work well.
