I was just googling what Steam's browser was built on, and it turns out it uses Chromium.
That got me curious if I could install extensions, and apparently, you can!
I've installed Ublock Origin and Dark Reader, and they work perfectly
I literally haven't seen anyone talk about this which is so weird, I find Steam's browser very useful when looking up stuff in-game, and now it's even more useful.
Just wanted to share this info :3

That’s really cool, but considering how hard chrome fights ad blocking, I’m wondering how long it will take till chromium browsers are affected.
Neat. Definitely won’t be doing that, but neat nonetheless.
Damn, thanks. I wish we could replace the chrome browser with firefox, though.
Yup did this months ago
I learned that months ago because I started using a modified Steam client that lets you have extensions and stuff, including SteamDB and other browser extensions, which you get through the Chrome extensions store thingy, that’s when I realized what you’ve seen too. Wouldn’t have known otherwise
Pretty cool indeed to have Augmented Steam and SteamDB extensions within the Steam client directly for my case
So is this on overlay browser or steam client?
Oh man, thank you for finding this. Super helpful for in game usage.
I’m mean the whole Steam client is built on Chromium.
